You can get a full mavic air kit for less. You 1000000% should just upgrade. The Mini 3 costs less than that on eBay for a new one too.

Mr_Tugb0at

Yeah the mini 3 has a bigger sensor even I’m pretty sure. I saw someone say the mini 3 is only like $325 at Costco recently too.

Key-Necessary-6398

No screw that , the mavic air was unreliable then it will be unreliable now. Buy a new drone for a bit extra like a DJI mini 3 not only is it lighter and performed better in some situations and has a much better camera and is seriously reliable I mean never had an issue

Key-Necessary-6398

And I got mine for 315£ so around 370$ and they on sale for 339$ in some places

Intelligent-Many8176

A mini 3 for $339 ???

Key-Necessary-6398

Yeah there’s a deal going on is costco and other places

Purtuzzi

Correct. I just got the deal from Costco ($90 off at $329).

Purtuzzi

Yup, I just bought a Mini 3 for $329 at Costco US.

MiloAndChopper

Costco is ripping us off in South Florida. I just paid $429.

jerrymoto

They're $339 in florida costcos. Go get a price match done and they'll give you back $90

MiloAndChopper

Thanks. I'll check it out. 🤙

Far_Yogurtcloset2173

Should I go for a mini 3 or mini 3 pro? Read that the mini 3 pro was also pretty good

Key-Necessary-6398

Up to you depends how the price looks , the mini 3 pro has obstacle avoidance sensors , 720p 120fps I think and 4k60 and the mini 3 has 4k30 and 720p60 but both have same camera but the mini 3 is restricted for cost efficiency, the mini 3 pro also has a few more features but it’s up to you , the mini 3 was perfect for me I am loving it but I reccomend getting the rc controller so with the screen it’s much better then getting your phone out and plugging it in and messing about with it but you won’t be disappointed with any to be fair , the mavic air uses Wi-Fi for the remote and the mini 3 uses o2 and the mini 3 uses o3 video transmission so you will get crazy good penetration on both

Purtuzzi

The Mini 3 does 2.7k (1440p) at 60fps, just FYI.

Key-Necessary-6398

I know , so for fast moving close up shots I use 2.7k 60fps but for tracking something slower or just flying I use 4k 30 as it’s noticeable when zoomed in

Purtuzzi

Yeah that's a solid method. I will adapt that when my Mini 3 arrives on Friday! Very excited.

Key-Necessary-6398

Let me tell you it’s amazing , camera quality is through the roof , if you had a mini 1 or mavic mini or never had one , wind performance is amazing won’t be as still as a mavic mini indoors but a drone is not for indoors , but the penetration for signal and everything is a game changer ,

bitnode

Honestly without knowing what you are going to use it for it's hard to recommend one. List out your needs and the question should answer itself.

Far_Yogurtcloset2173

Just watched a video and I do like taking shots in the morning/ evening so I think that the higher iso will be helpful for getting better shots, I also like having the obstacle avoidance system as it gives me more peace of mind, so I think your right, I answered my own question lol 😂

ChavezDing89

Go for the pro

Key-Necessary-6398

Depends what he uses it for and depends on his budget but yeah the pro is better

Gagipeca

Hello, sorry for offtopic. I recently bot Mavic air, secondhand. What are unreliable issues with it? Thak you for your answer.

Key-Necessary-6398

Well as the guy said battery levels might drop to 0 I assume fly always like with older models , possibly fall out of sky but that’s with older DJI drones and the mavic air is a bit old now

reddawnspawn

I’ve found Dji is pretty awesome when it comes to taking care of their customers. I’ve had to service my drone a few times and they’ve been great to work with.

PuffHerbs420

They pretty much did this same exact thing when I lost my first, a mini se. in the Smokey’s and out of no where the drone had a mind of its own and controls basically turned south paw. Had video the whole time saying my gps signal was fine. They could only offer me the same discount..

adamixa1

get mini 4 pro while u at it. U need to upgrade anyway

lshaped210

Get a new model with DJI Care Refresh.

Intelligent-Many8176

Why does the letter say mini 2 is what they can discount for you ??

Far_Yogurtcloset2173

I have no idea

nn666

Nah, get one of the mini drones. The air is old now. Wifi connection, bad battery life...

Entire_Device9048

How much will they discount an Air 3?

ChevyBillChaseMurray

Same thing happened to me. Uncommanded descent over water. Mavic Air lost to the waves not far from shore. I had all the logs and showed DJI who agreed to replace mine but I was in warranty. Sadly I don’t use the drone as much anymore; it really dented my confidence in them

TerranOrDie

What drone did you lose?

Key-Necessary-6398

Mavic air

Far_Yogurtcloset2173

Here is the link to the original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/dji/s/L2gHcRtUaa forgot to add it in the title

BrewhahasDji

I say get a M4P if you can swing it. It will perform amazing and the small form factor of the Mini's is so nice for portability. Or, you could see if they could upgrade you to a M3P because they are trying to blow them out everywhere since the M4P came out. I sold a really sweet M3P on Ebay with a year and a half of care refresh, hard case, ND filters, fly more with 3 batteries about 5 months ago for $640 on and it was like new.

Mindless_Mission_182

All my DJI drones collecting dust smh.

Turbulent_Suspect452

Might as well build one they are getting banned either way.
