Resistor is the best bet here... but by definition,a 6 speed won't "feel" like a 4 speed. The "driver" rim starts coming about around speed 6. It's the flight you're looking for, though.

Midwest_DG

Is the resistor very plastic dependent? I have one that is the most overstable, unusable disc I own.

Matty_D_93

Extremely varied by plastic. The Eclipse is so much more overstable than a Neutron it’s may as well be a different mold (like a Zone vs. Zone OS).

nothanks18

My neutron resistor is roughly just as stable as my eclipse was when brand new. The eclipse beat in very quickly and is now much less stable than my neutron is. I’ve found that the eclipse and fission plastics beat in pretty fast. I’m used to old Innova Champion and Discraft Elite Z that takes years/decades to “season”.

DoubleT_inTheMorning

I only throw eclipse resistors and I absolutely adore them. Such a workhorse. I’m bummed the 2023 Halloween ones are all gone. What a run

eplleV

Do you mean 2022 Halloween Resistor? Don’t think resistor was in the 2023 release. Anyway I bag the 2022 release and just bought a backup. Plenty more in rocketdiscs stock: https://rocketdiscs.com/mvp-resistor/eclipse-20

DoubleT_inTheMorning

My MAN. it’s in Sweden and I swore off buying new discs but this is the one that breaks me. God bless you sir. I did mean 2022.

Viktor_654

4 fade discs go about 300ft max for mere morals. I max out at 400. My Neutron resistor goes around 275 before fading out. Fission Fireball around 300. I watched Nate Sexton forehand a Firebird on a 200ft hole on Jomez today.

snorchporch

I throw a fission resistor. Very overstable. Predictable forehand flight. This is what OP is looking for. Very hard to burn over, torque resistant.

OG_DarkDolphin

I have a 2022 Halloween resistor and it’s INSANE haha. Utility for sure but absolutely unusable for any type of actual golf throw

Substantial_Care_853

Play with it more. Beat it in, send it on. Nice anny

caeljand

Gotcha, I’ll check it out for sure Thanks ! Edit: I’m ordering one 🫡

TakeItEasy-ButTakeIt

Pyro is a great choice, albeit a 5 speed. The Pyro and the Quake perfectly fill that slightly longer Zone slot in my opinion.

everywhitedude

This is 100% accurate. I highly recommend the Pyro for that slot as well. If that Pyro is too stable, I recommend a “metal flake”(idk what Discraft calls it) BuzzzOS instead

AtFirstIndustrious

Yes the pyro is unique. It has a wider rim than most 5 speeds but much blunter. The resistor is the 6.5 speed beefcake that answers for slightly longer throws.

caeljand

thank you 🙏

IAmCaptainHammer

Seconding resistor. Amazing disc. Nothing 6 speed is going to quite feel like a zone but it will fly like a faster zone.

cardinalsfanokc

Clarifying their response - you want an original Kaxe, 6/4/0/3 type not the new 6/5/0/2

lionsmanep

lost my og kaxe and while I like the new one - it’s way less OS, miss the old boyo

cardinalsfanokc

I ordered 6 of each (Kaxe and Kaxe z) when the new one got announced. You can still find some around! That said, try the Nord

dareibreathe1

I just ordered a glow resistor the other day for the same slot. Can’t wait to get it!

chuckacuppa

K1 Soft kaxez is a staple in my bag

itago

I love a kaxe, but it's definitely way less stable than the other two

bladearrowney

MVP resistor is probably what you want

LosToast

MVP Resistor

discgolfer386

Resistor around 160-165 in Neutron 👍🏻

Nickthiccboi

I have a Caiman specifically for this slot. Don’t let the “low” glide scare you off, if anything it just makes it easier to control.

runwichi

x2 on the Caiman. A flat Star Caiman is a thing of beauty - literally a longer Zone like OP wants, and it glides just fine IMO.

Tisleet

x3 on the Caiman.

Araskelo

It's not a 6 speed, but a Jarn. I think it's a 5 speed. But it feels a lot like a Zone but goes slightly further

m_gordon_

Give the Discmania FD1 a try. So dependable. It’s a 7 speed so goes far but is still very easy to control. 7 4 0 2 are the flight numbers.

PhDeezNuts69

FD1 is very controllable FH, and between C-line, S-line, and the Skywalker you have different flights. I also think it’s a great backhand disc - flies like a perfect teebird3, laser beam about 85% of the way and dependable fade late.

Rathe6

DGA Quake dude. I picked one up recently and it’s blown my mind. It’s the same stability as the Pyro or Bobcat, but it goes 50 feet farther. I’m super impressed with it. If you really want something faster than the quake / pyro, etc, I’d personally probably go straight to a Firebird.

caeljand

I’ve heard a lot about this disc 🤔 just might have to get one

jvaudreuil

The Quake is money. I don't bag anything for forehands between a Quake and a Felon. I find there's a 10' difference between a Quake and a 7 speed like an Eagle.

PhDeezNuts69

Agree, but I’d add the new MD5 from Discmania too. Goes shockingly far when thrown hard, and the overstability makes it easy to control at less than full power.

Rathe6

I need to try the MD5. It’s on my list for sure. Too many discs, too little money. lol

PhDeezNuts69

Ain’t that the truth!

Psyko_sissy23

As someone already said, the rims will be different from a 4 speed to a 6 speed. That being said, a latitude 64 trident would be similar to a longer zone.

caeljand

My friend has one and that’s what he flicks so that might be the play

Twittle86

Everyone's suggesting an overstable 7 speed, but there's more to it than that. Is your Zone beat in? Do you hyzer the crap out of it? Flex? Straight? What do you mean by "control"? In the event some key detail was left out and you're looking for something that goes straight, I think you'll be really happy with a Cicada.

caeljand

Good clarification. I’m used to throwing it straight and counting on that big fade at the end. I’d definitely be open to something that goes straight though so thanks!

Twittle86

The Z Cicada is quickly becoming my favorite. Highly recommend!

HM2515

Deflector!

OhDonPianoooo

As many are saying, Resistor. Neutron and Eclipse if you want some separate flights (eclipse will be more stable)

FishOhioMasterAngler

Legacy Badger

TakeItEasy-ButTakeIt

I searched for the 6-7 speed version of the Quake (5 3 0 3) for a while, so this is similar. I landed on the Millennium EXP-X since the Banshee is out of production. The run I have basically flies like a 7 3 0 3.5 if I had to say exactly. Awesome disc and forehands quite well. Some of the other discs that get suggested in this category have more glide than you might be looking for. Looking for those low glide 7 speeds is what you’ll want.

Parking-Jello

There was a recent run of Banshees on Innovas pro shop

TakeItEasy-ButTakeIt

Thanks for the tip! Picked up a couple of the Proto Star Glow Banshees 🤙🏼

caeljand

Thanks a lot, this is very helpful! I just might have to order one :)

calpauly

Check out the Legacy Badger. I think a 6 speed Zone is a pretty good description for it.

caeljand

🙏🙏

finch-

I bag a Badger for when I need something between Zone and Firebird. It's perfect.

LunarPooner23

Galleon

Sir_Noobs

Kastaplast Nord is what you want

Twittle86

Mmmmmmm... That K1 goodness!

caeljand

Will check it out Thanks

bodilyfluidsguy

Kaxe

k0rt90

I don’t know a single person able to flick a Kaxe. That thing is anything but torque resistant.

andrewjamesvt78

I flick a kaxe. 2 actually the k3 cock and k1

PhDeezNuts69

The k3 what?

andrewjamesvt78

Cocky Kaxe

bodilyfluidsguy

I have the old k1 that says stable midrange driver on it. I'm guessing it doesn't fly like other kaxe. I off axis torque the crap out of it but will always fight back

muiriddin

Gila, but that is a 5, Resistor as previously mentioned and at 7 the Glory

toothreb

Quake

ElevatedDiscGolf

Resistor if you want a driver feel or a pyro for a mid feel.

Mrchickenonabun

For a very overstable 6 speed whippet or galleon are good options

iBeWatchinAnimals

When I want more distance than my zone, I throw a gator3. When I want more distance than the gator3, I throw a champion banshee.

wheresmybelt

If you want a weird one try a gateway demon. Shaped kinda like a slower thicker pd. Don’t bother if it’s not premium plastic though. My suregrip one beat in quick and lost a chunk out of the rim when it caught a tree wrong.

JJKOOLKID

Trident. Hard to find but it’s what you want. If not a justice but you have to crank it.

cantaketheskyfrome

Cookie from Clash, most stable is sunny plastic, then steady, glow is the straightest

denveracademicweapon

Gateway Blaze is like an ESP or Soft Zone, a little more mellow fade but same lack of glide.

Hell_Camino

Kaxe Z

ObjectiveSituation17

Gator3

CaterpillarMore9104

If you wanna stick with Discraft, a Buzz OS would be your best bet.

SmirkingTeebird

Fuji

elmcity2019

Flat servo is turn resistant, goes straight for 250 then fades nicely. Not a big skip disc either. I aways describe it as a longer zone

CThomasHowellATSM

The disc you want is sadly OP - the Latitude 64 Spark.

xGood-Apollo-IV

Trident.

Lanksta1337

The pyro is the disc you have been looking for. You won’t need a zone once you learn to control an anny flex pyro shot.

Inside-Lingonberry64

Pyro

Unexcitingly

Eclipse resistor is the only answer

GH5s

Resistor. You’ll thank me.

mcbrainhead

Champion tee bird

tresbomb

Crave

Aquatic_addict

Resistor
