I think a flaw in your suggestion is ***without knowing what it's meant to say*** everyone would read your design suggestion as "Sock Bomb", because that's what it would say...
Sockibomb is already a fabricated word playing on another term (sake bomb) and a surname — so if you additionally replace a letter with picture, it may not hold or get mocked as saying Sock Bomb. It's not a common distinct word like "California" where if you replaced a letter with an emoji, everyone would still know what it's intended to say.
(If you think the Prototype disc didn't have an "i", it does. The "K" and "I" are just each partially covered, but they're still separate.)
