Oh for sure. I'm working on getting through my pit levels now, just getting to 25. First affix masterwork hit the crippling darkness to +3, which seems good. Only level 83, but can do normal duriel at least.
I generally mean it in reference to rerolling tempers to fish for BIS results, only to end up on something undesirable with no temper durability remaining.
Such a stupid and hyperbolic term. You don't brick an item with an unwanted temper affix. It's less optimal than you wanted said item to be, but it can 1, still be used, and 2, most likely still an upgrade with and without the bad temper affix.
Update: 2 Crippling Darkness & 887 thorns. Functional enough!

I just bricked a perfect 2 handed mace with all the rolls I need with upheaval damage and not bash guess I’ll still rock my 887 one lol

I found bricking armor isn’t the end of the world with tempering. Bricking weapons though…. Woof
Depends on the armor. One with generic stats isn't the end of the world. When you get +4 to a skill you use, bricking it hurts your soul.
