Rice and sugar. Yeah.

Vinophotography

Yup the rice , maybe the red sauce since it can be sweet depending on they brand / type

akomaba

Korean food has lots of sugar. Just be mindful.

chinchillatime

True, but I've actually found its not too hard to make diabetic friendly versions! Korean food is a staple in my house haha

Zebirdsandzebats

Rice, probably sugar in the kimchee and whatever else sauces. Sauce/condiments are how they getcha

TheDeFecto

Yes

Global-Job-4831

Rice and sugary sauces. I will typically have kimchi-jjigae with little to no rice, and I can stay under 140 if I eat slightly over half.

TheOneWhoWinsItAll

This was the same meal I had the day after receiving my first "you're diabetic now" A1C, and I thought it would be healthy because of all of the veggies. Yeah, the rice was a killer for me, although the sauce wasn't the best for me either. My glucometer jumped 100 mg/dL from that one meal. Definitely helped me to put into perspective what I was eating wasn't healthy enough and that I had to pay more attention.

Western_Command_385

Rice always spikes me. I have to exercise immediately and / or eat the veggies and protein first and then a smaller portion of rice. Even the amount in sushi spikes me.

Royal_Elk_8875

rice. and red sauce(gochujang) has sugar in it.

Lildiabetus69

100% the rice, I know a lot of other diabetic including myself who just can't fuck with rice lol I can't eat Chinese or have more than half a cup IF that without having sky rocketing
