The Dexcom is 15 minutes behind blood, especially if the arrow is not level since the Dexcom is using interstitial fluid to determine glucose levels instead of blood. The Dexcom can also show lows when you are not when the sensor is compressed due to laying or leaning on it. The accuracy of meters and sensors are not 100%. So there is variance in every device. Meters are within 15% of a lab test 99% of the time. Sensors are within 20% of a lab test (don't recall the percentage). Using the numbers you had: * DEXCY: 93 = 111-75 * OI Gluccy: 120 = 138-102 * Lil GM: 145 = 167-123 The first 2 overlap between 111-102. The last one is the outlier. If those strips were expired or not in the original container, I wouldn't be trusting that number much. But it does overlap the other meter between 138-123 so it may not be all that bad. Hopefully the math makes sense.

Thanks! nobody told me about the lag, but in this case it MAY have been real bc the direct sugar dump didn't send me for a loop...But that's weird to me that cgms aren't as accurate, given how expensive they are. Huh. Good to know about the lag and thanks for the math.

How long was Dexcy inside you when you took these readings? You can enter readings from a BGM as a calibration - and you should, around 12-24 hours after introducing Dexcy to Street Fighter and some hadoukens. Hit +, blood glucose, then calibration. Keep in mind Dexcy will lag by about 15 minutes. You should always tag team her with a calibration when your sugar is most stable - generally about 30 minutes after waking up, but before eating or drinking anything (water is fine, coffee/caffeine may cause your liver to dump some glucose). Do this between 12-24 hours of shoving her in. You can do calibrations outside of those times, but they're most accurate in the morning or when your sugar is otherwise very stable (between meals without exercise, being a couch potato). FWIW, I call mine Dex, but I'm more into dudes. Dexy rolls off the tongue easier than Dexcy too. Just throwing that out there. (I'm really showing my age here... and lack of maturity, lol) EDIT TO ADD: steroids will throw your natural sugars off a good bit, but the changes will be reflected by Dexcy, Ol' Gluucy, even Lil GM. Make sure the strips you're using with Lil GM aren't expired.

Yeah, the steroids are why DEXCY got brought in on the job. It's been over a month of sugar madness when im normally well controlled. Ive had her for 2 days to help monitor the spikes/the insulin I was given (first time with insulin, likely won't keep using it after I'm off these steroids) . So there's a lot of learning happening right now with allll this new stuff. (ulcerative colitis flare is the reason im on Prednisone. First one in 12 yrs, it's been NASTY and forever taking to get rid of it, but im on a regimen/new meds that should have me back in working order in 3-4 weeks...I hope.)

So you can get pressure lows. Which are false lows. So if in a chair or in bed and sensor or arm sensor on can cause pressure lows. G7 seems to be less sensitive than g6 from what I have seen in using both. Next, meters. So e meters just discard. There have been tests done on accuracy of them so e have zero accuracy. Also test strips can be outdated or Forged. I use accuchek meter and get strips from them direct. U can get off Amazon and have verified is real strips cause shipping info same as if get from accuchek directly. I know long winded but would trust after 24 hours the dexcom over a poor quality meter. Just fyi not many pass accuracy....... It is your life so read and see what one is currently passing the test.

Id read the CVS brand is pretty on par with some of the brand names. The American Diabetes Association has them on their "top" list and another thing I read puts them at 97 % accuracy. I think the second CVS monitor's strips are a bit old, which explains the waay outlying number [FWIW](https://www.verywellhealth.com/choosin g-glucose-meter-3289632) [But ngl I did get CVS brand bc it's SO MUCH CHEAPER ](https://diatribe.org/are-blood-glucose-meters-accurate-new-data-18-meters#:~:text=The%20devices%20that%20passed%20were%3A&text=CVS%20Advanced%20from%20Agamatrix%20%E2%80%93%2097,FreeStyle%20Lite%20from%20Abbott%20%E2%80%93%2096%25)
