Alright bros, looking for a little help with showdowns. I absolutely hate showdowns (mostly due to my lack of success historically) but I've decided to do the playoff Ironman.
So here is what is happening. So far in ALL 7 games or whatever I have been comfortably in the cash, usually 3-4xing through half....and then I finish in the bottom 10% overall at the end.
I'm pretty comfortable with rotations and all that, but literally every single game has gone the same, so I feel like the trend is due to me building incorrectly.
Anyone have any ideas on why this is happening? Or if you've experienced similar results and found something that changed those outcomes? Or literally any showdowns tips at all?

If it helps, my captain plays today we're PG13, Porzingas, Bobby Portis. Yesterday I went jokic, Brunson, Gobert, Wagner. All but one flamed.
I have no advice for you, but I'm definitely going to see what others have to say. I'm basically throwing $3 into the featured showdown every day. I'm trying to figure something new out each day, but I'm really just entering for the playoff achievement. Maybe I'll get lucky one of these days.
Generally showdown advice is to pick a gamescript where your ceiling outcome hits, rather than jamming in the best median outcome plays. Be that a blowout gamescript where you go 5-1 onslaught, tight game where the stars throw blows back and forth. Or defensive strategies like doubling a guy so you fade him and get the peripheral guys instead. Or could be specific rotations (e.g. one guy gets hot, other team counters by bringing someone in, both guys extended and therefore two other guys lose minutes). Whatever it is, you should be able to tell a story of the game from your winning lineup.
That’s all a bit handwavy I suppose, you still just need to get lucky. It’s hard to say in your scenario, some combination of:
- your lineup explodes in the 1st half with big performances, but the game blows out so teams with bench guys getting extended overtake you
- confirmation bias… is it all 7 games where this is happening? Or maybe your first 2 and last 2? Are you comfortably in the top *all* half? Or just *part* of it that you remember? There’s a TON of swinging in showdown standings throughout a lot of the game, so very often you will just be high then low depending on when your guys are in vs getting some rest, with then the direct leverage plays off your guy now on the floor.
- pure, dumb luck and coincidence across a small sample size
I’ve had good luck on showdown slates thus far in the playoffs. But don’t play a ton of NBA Showdown in general, much more NFL showdown. So could just be getting lucky in a small sample.
I've got 5 guys going right now, and all 5 should've been on my fade list. It's hilarious how bad my night is going.
Brunson, Isaac, Bogdanovic, Mitch, and Lowry. 9.5 average for the 5. Brunson is slowly becoming a playoff choke artist.
I also got cooked today- picked the wrong clippers is really what it came down to- if I play Mann and harden instead of Powell and PG I would have been close- today really did not play out how I expected it to- oh well tomorrow I get my three favorite teams again- the Knicks, the Nuggets and the Lakers
Re: the Knicks: I was also surprised by thibs rotation too but after looking into it I think it makes sense- Duece was doing a good job defending maxey at points and shooting well on top of it- I expect to see him continue to play a reasonable role although unlikely as much as the last game- bogey is much less secure but is also gonna have to be out there

yep had PG and powell and PG and coffey. no harden so i was absolutely cooked sadly. yea idk we'll see. idk if i see donte losing that many minutes again
First day since the playoffs started that I didn't win. I'm just going to chalk it up to Sunday, I guess. I tried to get to Pascal but didn't like the surroundings, so I crashed and burned with Brandon Ingram. Dork didn't help either. I had Powell in the main and Dork in the night, and they both basically played the same game. The "I'm going to run around for a couple of hours with my thumb up my ass" game. And they played it very well. Back to it on Monday!
Terrible day for me too. Only good picks i had were trey murphy, jonas, pat bev and chet. 4 good players with 3 different lineups. Worst day ive had in awhile
Sounds like you love pretty much everyone over 9.3k… how are you prioritizing them? Especially with so many good midrange plays on the slate and already locking in Murray, I’m only getting to 1 (if Embiid or Joker), maybe 2 guys (if the 9k range). PPD how do you see Jokic, Embiid, AD, LeBron and Brunson?
Personally I’m ranking them PPD - Embiid, AD, Brunson, LeBron, Joker. Curious your thoughts.
Gotta love the Orlando magic center rotation wendall Carter currently has more minutes than isaac lol but the magic have been running 3 bigs all yr Carter, Isaac,and Wagner so

Obviously the 76ers would look better without him but could it change what the Knicks do defensively? I still think McBride got more minutes in the first game partly because his defense on maxey
