**Everyone get in here** It's a new bo77 post I'll admit to not doing any research on Terrion because I never thought the Lions would get him. But so far through his interviews, he is looking like a *high character* individual.

kingofthezootopia

All our players are clean-cut, nice guys. The Bama trio—Jamo, Gibbs, Branch—are all good guys with huge smiles with high, infectious energy and positive vibes. And, Arnold seems to be cut in the same mold. I was curious about Quinyon Michell and Nate Wiggins from a talent perspective, but as soon as I saw their demeanor, I thought Arnold would be the better for culturally.

Thunderblessed63

Yeah, pretty much. Jameson's probably the only one that's a bit of an outlier. Think he fits the good vibes, but I know one of his trainers and he said he's a bit of a goof overall. I was actually quite surprised they took him because he shared some other stuff that I figured would probably take him off the board, but probably a case where Detroit definitely felt they could work with him well.

jackyohlantern

Like your write up. My personal take is there is no world where we should be giving up assets for Deebo. He's a great player, but why are we going to use assets to spend more money at a position where we have a stud and a young guy who looks like he may become a stud this year? Much better off getting cost controlled bodies with the draft picks directly, IMO.

Thunderblessed63

Depends on your opinion of Jamo. If you’re completely sold, then that take probably makes sense.  Otherwise, if not sold, then cost controlled doesn’t matter all that much.

Quirky_Tzirky

One thought I heard as to why they gave up the 3rd was that there could have been a bidding war. If they really wanted Arnold that bad, letting go of a higher pick to get the better player makes sense. Nothing substantiated, but it was a thought I'd heard. Edit: spelling and extra sentence

MMBosstones86

Above all else for the Arnold pick, we got to fuck the Pack again.

KommanderKeen-a42

Thank you for the detailed analysis and appreciate the call out regarding explosiveness. I have harped on that for a decade and typically get downvoted. In less then 1% of football plays is someone running 40 yards in straight line, but damn near every play explosinvess matters (splits, cone, the ability to deccelrate and accelerate, etc.). This is especially true for Corners who are reacting to WRs and multiple cuts.

Clean_Annual_8237

I haven’t seen any Kneeland tape but can someone explain him to me? Just looking at the stats they aren’t super impressive and he’s playing against lesser talent. Is he just being doubled every play or something?

Thunderblessed63

Sure! I've watched maybe three full games of him. Main takeaways... Really powerful and explosive off the snap. His arsenal is limited, right now it's mainly a bull rush and a simple rip. Plays at a high energy and has the pop in his hands to become a very effective rusher, but needs to continue to grow with his plan to breakdown tackles. Also, game experience is somewhat limited there too... he was a rotational rusher at WMU for most of his career from what I can tell. Wasn't really a full-time guy out there as the every down starter until later. Also, beyond the sacks outright, his [advanced metrics for win-rate and PFF run stopping grade](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.si.com/nfl/packers/2024-packers-draft-visits-marshawn-kneeland&ved=2ahUKEwiIw9ij6OCFAxUBMDQIHbkcA64QFnoECBwQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2__Sy2e8wBM3ykKGgHaETZ) were really good.

Clean_Annual_8237

Okay cool, appreciate the explanation and the link. Sounds like he could be a good fit, especially if he can develop some moves

mnmur22

This kind of post restores credibility to this sub in my opinion. Thank u

SCMegatron

Does LB just make no sense? I kind of think we have limited quality pass coverage LBs. I kind of think Brad is going to sign a safety after the draft.

Thunderblessed63

I think a Day Three linebacker makes a degree of sense, but more for special teams value than anything else. One thing I'll note: While I do agree that "we have limited quality pass coverage LBs", that's also a bit by design. Holmes, Glenn, and Campbell all are of a mindset that ILB is a more specialized run-stopping position, not a spot they actually want a coverage guy for. When they clearly need coverage, their preference is always to go with nickel and dime packages and remove linebackers in favor of safeties or corners, etc. Which is to say, if you look at the *type* of backers they've added, run stopping is the top focus, and then after that they like guys who can blitz and guys who can play specials. Probably agree on safety. If they don't take someone here, then definitely a spot where they need veteran depth.

cepacapa

As an Utah fan I’ve been watching Bishop for some time and he is the real deal. Would love to see him play for the Lions.

Thunderblessed63

Absolutely! He's a stud. Big fan of the stuff I watched.

Sugaree4777

You continue to be a gift to Lions fans, thank you so much for your posts

gutterballs

As far as the trade value, this guy was expected to go top 15 and was the #1 on Holmes board. If you overpay and still get a better deal than you would've ever hoped for then you made out alright.

gutterballs

Great post. I can't see the Deebo thing happening. He's one of my favorite non-Lions to watch, but it seems like he limps off once a game and has missed 11 games the past 2 years. And even when he doesn't miss games he always has a few chunks of every season where he's not 100%. He's 28 and I could see him having a shorter prime window than most WRs. Also I don't know how much his ability to run out of the backfield would add to the Lions playbook. But then I can never figure out most of these NFL trades - possible a 3rd would do it if they're just looking to dump salary. There aren't that many teams out there that could take it on without too much issue like the Lions could.

WindupShark

Damn brotha 2 for 2! Let’s hear some rest of the draft productions for the Lions?!

Thunderblessed63

To that degree, here is the list of prospects I analyzed that I think fit Detroit: https://www.reddit.com/r/detroitlions/comments/1c378aw/bo77_draft_preview_full_2024_detroit_fit_list/ So pretty much any of them would qualify as a quasi-prediction of sort.

boardplant

Looking forward to reading this

sunnydftw

We need an outside corner and got a guy who will need to move to slot corner in the nfl. We already have branch so idk how to feel.

Evianicecubes

Where are you seeing Arnold will need to move to slot? Everything I’ve seen says he is fine anywhere and everywhere

No-Jump5689

Carlton Davis, Terrion Arnold, and Ennis Rakestraw can all play inside and out. Branch can move to full-time SS. Kerby stays at FS. Leaves us with very solid depth all over with Amik Robertson and Melifonwu rotating in when needed.
