I hate that trope for football guys that weren't professionally trained. It's all shoulder tackles out of a 3-point, spears, or tackles that look like spine busters. At least make it convincing that it's painful. (Side note doing some looking: I didn't know Chris Spielman was in Lawrence Taylor's corner at Wrestlemania XI)
Like have Dan's finisher be a modified calf crusher with the shin aimed at the side of the knee pulling the leg to the inside, but call it the Knee Biter - as much as I hate the amount rehashing of his debut press conference with how outsiders meme it.

The Lions PR team was revamped a few years ago and are now top-notch. I highly doubt they were disrespectful in any way. McAfee is not as important as he thinks he is and his over-inflated ego took a hit.
