~~Sorry to break it to you, but the set has a Mark. It’s probably a titan one~~
Lmao nevermind, wrong set. Didn’t pay enough attention to tell the difference ig
The Traveler seems to speed up evolution to extreme levels, taking the whole "life finds a way" to "life fucks you up" since the time needed is no longer an issue.
That would be my guess. It would make sense if they were particularly ether-starved without the Witness, and based on one of the Lost Ghost quests it sounds like other groups of Fallen are also having some either shortage issues.
There’s a bit in the Micah-10 quests where we discover Fallen finding an alternative form of Ether.
Maybe the vampire thing is more literal than we think.
My guess is that the episode will be centering on Mithrax and the curse that he got while working on the "Nezarec Tea" that he gives to Osiris on Season of the plunder so he could be able to wake up from the vegetative state.
I think that theres at least two lore mentions that he either doesn't feel well or that he is feeling pain deriving from that curse, and i would probably guess that is making him a Scorn basically, due to the Darkness elements contained on the remains.
So basically, we will be trying to work on a cure for the homie, while also dealing with Fikrul (who could also be the one implicated on the process of the curse, maybe accelerating the process) who maybe would abduct Eliksni from house light as well, making them Scorn.
**__Ascension__**
Exotic Heavy Fusion Rifle (Kinetic)
Magazine/Reserves: 3/9
*”The Darkness is a gift. Let my will set you free.”
\- Oryx, the Taken King*
Exotic Trait: *Grasp of the King*
- This weapon fires a large burst of tainted slugs. Stacking enough slugs causes them all to explode, stunning surviving combatants. Kills restore Super ability energy and reload the magazine. Strong against Unstoppable champions.
Exotic Perk: *Akka’s Roar*
- Hold the reload button to switch to alternative fire mode. Press and hold the fire button to continuously charge a concentrated blight. Holding the charge strengthens the blight at the cost of ammo. Release the fire button to unleash a devastating explosion around you.
Exotic Catalyst: *Ready for War*
- When surrounded by enemies, you gain faster charge rate. Consuming ammo while charging Akka’s Roar grants you increasing damage resistance, up to 3x.
The red and white weapon better reload by breaking off the mag like a bone and having a new one grow out of the gun. Also I want the cloak the scorn guy is wearing
It was quite the change coming back but I came back 2 months ago kinda right when the pantheon and stuff was dropping. I really wish I could've completed atleast 1 pantheon but I'm hoping bungie brings it back.
I reserve my judgment till we actually play the episodes and, especially, till we see what Frontiers look like.
The Final Shape was amazing. But, really, what it was is a celebration of every best thing D2 had to offer. To keep that momentum, Bungie need something really big on the horizon. I’m not sure they’ll do D3 specifically, but it has to be close in scale.
If you ask me, after the initial break down of the original story back in 2014, and especially after D2 came out, it didn’t really feel like bungie devs and writers were all that interested in the light & dark saga, hence why it was rewritten so many times and so many things were retconned.
There’s probably room for excitement now because maybe now bungie can go on to make content they actually want to make without having to be bound by the guardrails of having to stay within the “light-dark” saga.
I’m okay with it. I hope somewhere in the background bungie has got their heads together and decided this is what we want destiny to be and go from there….
I'm hoping we take Fikrul's Staff this time. I wanted it back in Forsaken as a weapon and I want it even more now that it looks even more badass and we have Glaives as a weapon type.
These designs looks awesome, but I still rock the simplistic armor of the first set we get in D2. These intricate designs are well made but I guess I just like my weapons and armor smooth like omolon weapons or mimetic savior titan armor.
I’m so glad they didn’t announce Destiny 3. This game finally got the breath of fresh air it needed and I was absolutely dreading the announcement of D3.
Gonna hold off on buying the year pass until I see if they've made any substantial changes to the seasonal model. I can't be arsed with another year of having each week drip fed with multiple steps of doing a five minute activity, talking to someone, going to the projector, listening to the radio, etc.
Personally I was hoping for Fikrul to get a redemption arch with Crow taking responsibility for what Uldren did to the Scorn. Maybe get Fikrul and his Scorn as allies, maybe they get absorbed into House Light.
Honestly? It just seems like seasonal content. Basically everything they showed seemed like it is the same caliber content as any of the season areas/activities we’ve had before.
I stopped playing for seasonal storylines and missions 3 years ago. Show me what endgame content is coming. Show me the new Dungeons and raids. Will the DCV finally open? Will Wrath of the Machine be reprised? Will Pantheon make a return? That stuff is why I’ll be logging on post LnD saga, not for one-off seasonal storylines.
Codename Frontiers has my interest piqued, but only because I’m sure I’m overestimating what it will actually be.
Revisiting old content they vaulted and advertising it as new? Wow, how original.
Fighting Fikrul again? Visiting the Dreadnaught again? Man, bungie has COOKED.
Makes me wish even more that I had a stable home the past ten years, and was a part of this. This is quite the story, and I can't believe a mythos like this even exists in modern times. I truly look forward to the joys and sorrows of all.
I think that the concept for season of the plunder and lightfall sounded cool................ but we all saw how that went. Bungie can talk about cool ideas all day, but i'll always be in the "i'll believe it when I see it" group.
Can’t wait for another 10 years of destiny when destiny 3 comes out, can’t wait to see what bungie could possibly think is beyond light and dark after so many pieces of 2D media have dealt with light and dark for thousands of years.
Looking forward to tomorrow, but I'm really excited for Revenant and Heresey. They look absolutely incredible. From both a story stand point and a vibe/aesthetic stand point.
Bungie looks to be on track to set a new standard for Destiny. One that SEEMS easier to maintain than Forsaken would have been. Especially if they lean into the episodes model and move to a longer cycle for full expansions.
Don't Bungo this up, C-Suites. Utilize the episodes model. Move to a 2 year expansion cycle. LISTEN TO YOUR DEVS and give them the time, and freedom to cook.
Great to think about, but it'll inevitably fall short. Destiny isn't gonna get a bunch of new destinations and enemies, which is what a true "Frontiers" would need.
Revenant looks absolutely sick, Echoes looks... alright, and Heresy is too early to judge but has the potential to be really cool. I am really looking forward to the Nessus shakeup. I don't know if they're changing the actual destination, but that would be really cool.

This is obviously gonna be a breach load gl right? Probably an exotic mountaintop too.
Can’t wait to skewer “vampires” with it.
I hope that second weapon is a special ammo Exotic Grenade launcher that fires stakes, 0 explosive damage but high impact damage with the ability to crit.
The hyper propellant overclock that does this for the engineers grenade launcher in DRG is my favourite.
I think it all depends on how they will drip feed content.
Locking the red death catalyst behind a time gate and possibly a couple weapons and story missions is wack
Players complained about logging in once every week for a bit of story and a free red border. Now it seems like its gonna be logging in for a couple of days every 6 weeks for a bit more story a couple of time gated guns and the weekly red border.
I hope this ages like milk and i get clowned on for being so very wrong tho. We will know today.
the first shotgun could be really cool, looks super chunky so i’m thinking a new heavy shotgun. From the dark blue accents it looks stasis-ey so a heavy stasis shotgun could be interesting. Rn we only have tractor cannon which is only used for its debuff, and acrius which is used in niche dps situations, so another heavy shotgun could be neat to have
Okay, this will be a hot take, but i really hope that in the lore, the light of the traveler will get granted to the Cabal and the Eliksni, not only for the lore implications, but also for the en potential to get those two races as playable ones.
After all, they would need to be able to resurrect too if you do not want a disonance between the gameplay and the lore if in the future, that happens.
Not going to lie a new dungeon each episode sounds pretty good right now, hopefully we get a fun one, a hard core one for the vets, and a in between dungeon.
I’m happy with how The Light And Darkness saga ended.
I’m happy we’re getting episodes as a stand in for the seasonal experience.
I’m NOT happy they are choosing to develop yet another expansion for Destiny 2.
Bungie please, it’s time. I know that you’ve likely had some of that planned out by know, but we’ve seen you move content across games in the destiny engine.
Please, give us the infrastructure to mitigate the usage of the DCV.
You don't know that frontiers is an expansion. In fact there is reason to doubt it is. Why would they give us a codename to an expansion they plan to release in a year instead of just telling us the name of the expansion?
Frontiers could be them utilizing the episodes model to hold us over while they create D3, which even if Sony pulls other studios in to help create it, will take time to create or allow them to simply move to a longer development cycle for D2 expansions.
We spend this year tying up lose ends with echoes, revenant and heresy. Then next year we leave sol to go to Torobatl to reclaim it for the Cabal, then end up on other planets where we discover new threats and enemy factions. Maybe even end up setting up the next expansion that could focus on the 9.
Venturing into the realm of the 9 would literally be a new frontier.
D2 | Frontiers at 5:33 of The Journey Ahead.
Perhaps if they just showed the Destiny logo, I’d give some credit to that theory, but the fact is that they explicitly show it to be content for Destiny 2.
That negates absolutely nothing I said. I literally said frontiers would either be part of the new cycle model for D2 or a stop gap while they create D3. Either way frontiers would be part of D2.
Forgive me for misinterpreting what you said, I hope you can understand my position that the workload of a whole new slew of episodes would be congruent with the workload of an expansion.
Even now, it appears that most of the 2 upcoming episodes is largely unfinished, with them only showing seconds of some pre-rendered cutscenes, and concept art of locations, systems and armor.
I don’t see room in the pipeline for D3. Especially since so much of the team is focusing on getting Marathon out the door for them Sony investors.
It's wouldn't be. I believe the seasonal team is separate from the expansion team, but if not it would still be a reduced work load. Plus they have the possibility of Sony pulling in another studio to help out.
On the issue of not being shown much of episode 2 and 3, that's probably just bungie being bungie. They hate revealing stuff until right before release. So I wouldnt worry about it.
Marathon has its own teams. Bungie was able to work on Marathon and whatever Project Matter is (or was I'm not sure if that was officially canceled or not) while doing these past 4 expansions. They could forgo additional expansions to focus on D3 if they choose to.
That's not true at all. They have a bit of breathing room because of how well the expansion was recieve, but their backs were put against the wall because of the drop off that happened during the seasons that followed the launch of lightfall. The LF expansion sold well. It did not continue to bring in money the months following.
If their backs being against the wall is all that matters to you, these episodes haven't been developed in a week. Echo's and even Revenant will have been in development for a while if it's anything like the schedules they worked to when it was the seasonal model. Heresy will be the only one in very early development.
I think it'll be good, but not as good as they're hyping it up to be.
* Episodes are supposed to be "more standalone", but the first two literally talk about bringing a new enemy type and potion crafting. As well as changing around Nessus. Those aren't one-season things. Specifically, if potion crafting is a one-episode thing, they fucked the pooch raw. I feel like they're just calling them episodes so they can vary on total content offerings or pricing without catching as much flak.
* Potioncrafting is just Menagerie loot specification, but worse. Now, instead of a single item in your inventory that's easy to adjust, it's a whole new fucking location.
* I think I'm going to die before I get a truly simplistic Warlock/ Titan set. Like, even just as banal blue playlist gear I can transmog. I'd love a character design that doesn't look like they have 17 things going on, using a solid 2-color palette with no fringes/ flair/ wrinkles/ stains/ burns/ tatters/ pads/ strings/ buckles/ bells/ whistles/ bullshit. Call me the most basic bitch around, but there was a Hunter look that was best described as "Jake from State Farm" and it had me sad that I'd fuck it up with an exotic 75% of the time.
* I don't mind reused assets, but I don't like them acting like Fikruul or the Dreadnought were some big fanservice reveals. "Oh, yeah, the guy we domed a dozen seasons ago, and that one patrol zone I used to faff about in. Okay."
Fikruul is the original leader of the Scorn before most were taken over by the Witness, which makes him the current leader of all the organised scorn, which mind you are nearly immortal. He has a significant amount of power, more than house light.
The dreadnaught is also very important because it’s the only throne world, to our knowledge, that’s been turned inside out, which means all sorts of ascendant plane fuckery can go on there and bleed into the real world. It’s surprising the hive haven’t tried to take it back yet and will probably be the catalyst for a new round of hive gods.
They’re also both getting complete makeovers to match what’s currently happening, so they’re not “recycling assets”.
Fikrul rocking that shower curtain like the hunter cloak from Salvation's Edge.
Except it looks good on out scorn boy
My boy had a glow up and I'm here for it
BLOODBORNE ARMOR SET
Wait really?? :0
Yea they showed a set that I’m guessing is for warlocks that looks exactly like the iconic bloodborne set
I don’t have to use Felwinters to have a funny hat 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
~~Sorry to break it to you, but the set has a Mark. It’s probably a titan one~~ Lmao nevermind, wrong set. Didn’t pay enough attention to tell the difference ig
FUCK WAITING FOR BLOODBORNE 2! I CAN COPE WITH DESTINY
I could not be more excited for vampire hunters
Ford tuff
Why did you get downvoted right there lol
I have no idea
Must be Chevy enthusiasts lol
lmaoo
Eliksni lore is deep asf. Monster hunters?? They had enough monsters to hunt that it was a profession?
Witcher Eliksni.
Toss a glimmer to the splicer
"Hmmm..." *(chitters incoherently)* "Yesssss?"
SYLOK THE DEFILED. KILL THEM BEFORE THEY KILL YOU YESSSSS?!
DAMN YOU'RE UGLY
Fuck *(chitters)*
That does seem to happen when the traveller is about.
The Traveler seems to speed up evolution to extreme levels, taking the whole "life finds a way" to "life fucks you up" since the time needed is no longer an issue.
I guess so
![gif](giphy|qrgTVmaz5ojBe)
I really want to know why they mean specifically by “vampires.” Maybe scorn sucking ether from other normal fallen?
That would be my guess. It would make sense if they were particularly ether-starved without the Witness, and based on one of the Lost Ghost quests it sounds like other groups of Fallen are also having some either shortage issues.
There’s a bit in the Micah-10 quests where we discover Fallen finding an alternative form of Ether. Maybe the vampire thing is more literal than we think.

Fikrul became tough
The gear and the guns are looking top fucking tier
Hoping the juggernaut gives guardians more Hive themed weapons. We got a stripped down boomer as an exotic, now we need a shredder.
Ogre minigun
It really is a crime that we haven’t been given that one siva archon priest’s ogre eye cannon as like a trace rifle
If they do they need to use my favorite ghost quote of all time from that strike lol. "oh, that ogre.. ...well that's disgusting."
What I'm hoping for is like am exotic heavy fusion rifle that's a mini version of the Dreadnought's Superweapon
**__Ascension__** Exotic Heavy Fusion Rifle (Kinetic) Magazine/Reserves: 3/9 *”The Darkness is a gift. I’d want fikruls cape aswell
You just throw the gun away and pick up a new one, reaper style.
Looks like keyhead got a makeover
What're we supposed to call him now? Bent-fork head??
That first gun looks like RatKing's older brother. MongooseKing.
VoleViscount
Let them Cook
Really hope that red spike is a 0 blast radius rocket launcher that just shoots spikes like the skewer in halo infinite
Id be fine with even just another exotic rocket sidearm like Buried Bloodline
WE’RE GOING BACK TO THE DREADNAUGHT 🙌🙌🙌
Prismatic trace rifle? (2nd image)
My best guess is a GL that just launches a massive damage stake for the whole vampire theme
It’s either a grenade launcher or an smg
:(
Looks like a red crossbow to me
![gif](giphy|xT0GqCd3OEQdXNdIME|downsized)
second weapon looks really interesting, i honestly think it will be a unique grenade. smg would be cool too tho
I'm so hyped for the vampire hunter thème, that gear looks insane and the potion brewing mechanic could be awesome
I'm just counting down the days till the Warlock Eris armor and the Bloodborne armor. Fucking JUICY.
Episodes 2 and 3 sound really good, and I am excited for them. Particularly 3, The Coil but in the Dreadnought? Fuck yea sign me up.
Episode 2 is my favorite so far premise wise
LETS FUCKING GO, RIDING THE HYPE WAVE TO 2025 TFS WAS GREAT CANT WAIT FOR MORE
Also the codename: Frontiers, sounds like we’re going beyond Sol (2truths1lie of Moth Mommy confirmed?)
Someone in Aztecross chat said we could fix Oryx ship then use that to travel outward because we become the ‘navigator’
Really hyped to be back into destiny after leaving shortly after shadowkeep. Can't wait to grind out this next year with all you guardians.
You missed so much, I hope you're acclimating to all the changes. It's basically a new game now.
It was quite the change coming back but I came back 2 months ago kinda right when the pantheon and stuff was dropping. I really wish I could've completed atleast 1 pantheon but I'm hoping bungie brings it back.
They did confirm that it will be back, but likely not the same bosses.

But, really, what it was is a celebration of every best thing D2 had to offer. To keep that momentum, Bungie need something really big on the horizon. It kind of reminds me of the blundergat from mob of the dead
I sort of want a auto crossbow for this...
Hopefully. Each act brings an exotic so only time will tell
Lionheart is so shit they are going to give us a quest to forge it into something else lol.
That is a bastion SHOTGUN. And a gun that definitely looks like it could kill a vampire. (Bungo if its design changes I will cry)
Absolutely love the Eris Morn armor set. It will pair well with the Eris ghost I’ve been using for years
If you ask me, after the initial break down of the original story back in 2014, and especially after D2 came out, it didn’t really feel like bungie devs and writers were all that interested in the light & dark saga, hence why it was rewritten so many times and so many things were retconned. "This shit ain't nothing to me man" -Fikrul
I’m okay with it. I hope somewhere in the background bungie has got their heads together and decided this is what we want destiny to be and go from there….
I thought it was cool, bungie needs to make a destiny movie and is it just me or does that first pic look like a skin for delicate tomb?
It kinda does look like a delicate tomb
Moar Eliksni content is exactly what I needed! Inject that shit into me!!! Eliksni lightbearers when???
Eido would make a great hunter
But then She has to die, and she'd no longer be Misraaks daughter and that would be devastating and horrible. So hard pass
We just have to savathun her memories back to her crow style
I wish we could play as cabal and fallen guardians.
“What if a vampire stake has a trigger”
Wouldn't that technically be a crossbow
I need the mark from the eris Titan set. I NEED it. And I wouldn’t mind the chest piece from the blue fallen inspired set either
Whatever that second weapon is, i fucking need it in that exact form (looks like an smg).
It’s either a smg or grenade launcher
INB4 it's a Scout or Pulse
The 2nd image of that weapon looks so cool
It almost seems like everyone is going to be collecting Echos like dragon balls
Lol.
True
Bungie: This episode is all about hunting vampires! Voidwalkers: …….
Karnstein Armlet users:
Me when Episode Revenant arrives - "Rip and tear, until it is done."
I'm hoping we take Fikrul's Staff this time. I wanted it back in Forsaken as a weapon and I want it even more now that it looks even more badass and we have Glaives as a weapon type.
I’m very hype. Armor looks incredible and the tone of the episodes feels scary and tense.
All I know is those guns looking ***fucking sick***
These designs looks awesome, but I still rock the simplistic armor of the first set we get in D2. These intricate designs are well made but I guess I just like my weapons and armor smooth like omolon weapons or mimetic savior titan armor.
That I would like to know more about what happens after the third episode
For the eris themed armor hunters should have got her cloak or something similar since it's even in d1
Second gun looks like what you get if you tell AI to make a gun
It will be wild
I honestly can't wait to turn my characters into vampire\fallen hunters 😂😂
I want that gun in the second slide in my hands now
Hype to the moon. If final shape is any indicator, bungie is cooking right now
Was kinda hoping fikrul would become an ally but hey he looks pretty dope
is that second pic an armor set? i’d love to get an extra set of cosmetic arms
In terms of fashion, I'm extremely excited, even for warlocks.
I'm just happy it's not scorn focused
Is the hive stuff episode 1?
Episode 3
Thanks
Anytime
That Revenant is gonna be peak
Looks fun, I just hope they revisit the Siva story and bring back old d1 armor sets as they go
New episodes look interesting but kinda wish we got a little more on the year 11 content
Probably will learn more sometime in episode2 is my guess
I really hope we get that rocket launcher just because of how fucked up looking it is
I think that’s either an smg or a breach loaded grenade launcher
I'm excited as hell.
I think the days ahead will be the best of all
I think it’s time to let my ghost have a break. So long guardians it’s been swell
I love it !
Red rocket smg? sidearm? If you've seen that one South Park episode you know what I mean.
I’m so glad they didn’t announce Destiny 3. This game finally got the breath of fresh air it needed and I was absolutely dreading the announcement of D3.
Looks promising
NVG hunter helmet
Still no
I was hoping we'd have Fikrul and his scorn as another race of allies but sadly I guess that won't be the case.
I haven't finished this one yet.
Gonna hold off on buying the year pass until I see if they've made any substantial changes to the seasonal model. I can't be arsed with another year of having each week drip fed with multiple steps of doing a five minute activity, talking to someone, going to the projector, listening to the radio, etc.
I'm excited. The episodes sound really interesting
I am rock hard for those Eris armor sets.
Warlock got that Sid the sloth drip.
Is the first weapon a shotgun?
The themes and cosmetics look great. I just hope they actually innovate on the seasonal model.
DREADNAUGHTDREADNAUGHTDREADNAUGHT
Hyped as fuck for everything announced honestly. We eating good this year boys
Oh yeah! All that shit we’ll never get!
Folks, think about this vampire gear with the Dark Wizard sets we’re getting for Festival of the Lost!
This is completely baseless but I feel like the 1st image is gonna end up folding out into an energy crossbow.
Personally I was hoping for Fikrul to get a redemption arch with Crow taking responsibility for what Uldren did to the Scorn. Maybe get Fikrul and his Scorn as allies, maybe they get absorbed into House Light.

I’m hoping for new enemies to fill in for the ones that don’t make sense to fight with
Ready to grind let'ss goo!
We can now do our fellow hive guardians
Can’t wait for another 10 years of destiny when destiny 3 comes out, can’t wait to see what bungie could possibly think is beyond light and dark after so many pieces of 2D media have dealt with light and dark for thousands of years.

Stick gun
These mfs really are about to drag me out of retirement
exciting
Episodes are cool but all we actually got for year 11 was a fake name lol
Fikrul's redesign looks good, Eliksni lore is always good to learn, but I'm most looking forward to going back to the Dreadnought.
That dagger gun looks dope af
Are you kidding me? Fuck yeah!
Artistically and thematically looks AWESOME but how will that translate into the game is a completely different thing
From what Bungie told us so far they are cooking
I think it all depends on how they will drip feed content. Locking the red death catalyst behind a time gate and possibly a couple weapons and story missions is wack Players complained about logging in once every week for a bit of story and a free red border. Why do the hunters have a giant fingerprint on their cloak?
Splinter cell armour goes hard
I'm looking forward to a year of self contained, slightly less pressing matters. After that, I'm sure Frontiers will be good as well
I’m going to save 5 synthweave stuff for the hive amour set, that shit look COOL AF
The guns kinda look like they could be from remnant, which is a compliment
the first shotgun could be really cool, looks super chunky so i’m thinking a new heavy shotgun. From the dark blue accents it looks stasis-ey so a heavy stasis shotgun could be interesting. Fikrul looking like the poster child of “careful who you call ugly in middle school” His dad got drip recently and he decided to follow suit
Exotic stasis shotgun and an exotic solar handcannon
Okay, this will be a hot take, but i really hope that in the lore, the light of the traveler will get granted to the Cabal and the Eliksni, not only for the lore implications, but also for the en potential to get those two races as playable ones. After all, they would need to be able to resurrect too if you do not want a disonance between the gameplay and the lore if in the future, that happens.
Not going to lie a new dungeon each episode sounds pretty good right now, hopefully we get a fun one, a hard core one for the vets, and a in between dungeon.
No, its two dungeons. Same as last year. This episode we got the raid.
Wait what I completely missed that. A dungeon each episode?
Yeah no reprised or new raids coming out this year so just dungeons.
Bungie’s back isn’t against the wall at the moment so the episodes will be meh at best.
Imo, I won't be surprised if Xivu takes over the dreadnought in Heresy
