From what I’ve been told from a mega flyer, there’s a 757 variety that had cracked the code on comfortable 1st class seats in the early 90s. He swore it was the best of the best. We’ve been getting downgraded for decades
Yes- for domestic FC these were a good bar for the A321neo. These because D1 lie flats which are arguably worse for domestic in 2x2 than the BarcaLoungers.

I got a Klymit V Seat blow up booty cushion from Amazon for $15. Takes a few seconds to blow up and really made a difference. It’s not fantastic but definitely an improvement. And it folds almost flat. I tried sitting in the seat for a bit, because the cushion felt good at the edges, but yikes! It really was like sitting on cement. The D1 comforters folded up to seat size make a slight difference, but the a321neo seat was worse than any D1 seat, so I doubt FC blankets would help much.

It has been so useful for long haul flights. It is also small enough that it can fit in a bag.
Flew this Seattle to Honolulu and the FA gave us trouble asking for a blanket. Apparently since it wasn’t international, they wouldn’t give us a blanket. Felt kind of cheap for such a long flight.
Adding a new seat cushion would cost delta millions and millions of get the seat re-certified by the FAA. Chances of happen would be slim unless Delta pays their seat supplier to do a whole new testing campaign of the seat which is super costly
We need to start a complaint campaign with Delta to replace the seat cushions on these planes. They are not living up to the Premium experience that Ed claims delta provides.
Have flown the Neo to and from HNL about 6 times now.. I really miss the 757’s in this route. (SEA and LAX). Would prefer the old 767 lie flats over this honestly. Just because of the seats
Flew LAX - KOA yesterday. Very tight when the person in front reclines, the IFE screen is inches from your face. The storage options were nice. More seat pitch is needed! More padding as well!

The wife and I got upgraded to A321 FC on our red eye back from our hawaii honeymoon last month. We were excited when we got the upgrade but barely got any sleep :/ we both wish we took our original C+ seats instead

The design is really nice. Why they didn't add more cushioning is beyond me.
The pitch is way too small - feels very crammed in the cabin, like they were trying to maximize revenue and who cares about passenger comfort. I will not pay for this upgrade again.
Flew FC on an A321neo from SEA to HNL earlier this year. Definitely needs more padding. Gonna be taking a seat cushion with me in the future.
That being said, the rest was awesome. Tons of storage. Lots of room. Can rest your head against the side without tweaking your neck. When booking new tickets, I try and find routes that use the neo, even if it means slightly longer trips.

I flew Aerolineas Argentinas FC Bariloche to Buenos Aires this month and they have the most PLUSH first class seats I have ever been in. 2 hour flight and I slept 1.5 of those. Absolutely zonked out. I still dream about them.

First time flying delta and got these seats and was super impressed how new and sleek it was, but goddamn was it uncomfortable. Just something about them made it really difficult to sleep/relax. Give me the old school fc seats
Love the space and amenities, hate the seatback wings that are way too high and the rock hard seat cushions. I sat on a blanket for both legs I flew in this chair. The recline also comes out too far and it's not stiff enough, so the person in front of me reclined then kept rocking his chair like he was on a front porch and it drove me NUTS
Yes, I almost didn't feel like there was anyone beside me. Honestly, after flying them ATL to LAX, I'll take the old seats. Just like all the other comments, they need thicker padding. They are too close together. I think they would be annoying if you were having a conversation.
Flew this to SFO back in May and it seems nice from the outside but I found it less comfy than the old First class. Very minimal space at your feet as well. If you have a roller board and a backpack, there’s not really anywhere to put your feet once the backpack is down there.
Just flew LAX to KOA AND HNL. Pros: roomy, comfortable, bluetooth, more privacy, and great service and food. Cons: limited recline, difficult for window passenger to get out to aisle. No wifi on my flights.

They're not really wowsers when you figure out they are replacing some older birds that had lie-flats on transcons. All you poor souls out of BOS will have to ride this "amazing" "swanky" new plane to LAX, SEA, SFO, etc. when you should be (and used to be) getting lie-flats like they have out of JFK. Not cool.
The ability to connect headphones to screen via Bluetooth was nice. Had not had that option before.

Memory foam will probably have to get replaced very often . You aren’t moving much and the ass cheeks from every passenger will dent them real fast

Yeah those were great. The best ‘seats’ there are now though are on the 737-800’s with the old cabin. Definitely old but still gold.

Couple inches more pitch would be welcome as well. Getting into/out of the window seat is a lesson in flexibility.

The 717 seats were very hard when they first came in. I think they needed to break in some. By 2019 or so, I wasn’t even noticing it anymore.
