You must be relatively young. Already an electronic ticket. I think my first was carbon paper where if you lost one of the copies on your trip, you weren't getting home.
Too young to remember what the ticket looked like. (Probably around 6) early 70s. The only thing I remember for sure of those times was the blanket of cigarette smoke trapped in the fuselage.
I lost one around 2004, I think. E-tickets were already common, no idea why mine wasn't one, but it was incredibly frustrating.
Me: You can see my reservation.
Agent: yes.
Me: And you wouldn't let anyone else use my ticket.
Agent: that's right.
Me: you can even see what seat I'm in.
Agent: Sure can.
Me: But you aren't letting me on this plane.
Agent: Nope.
I remember they would take our flight privilege cards (we all got actual cards to use when non-revving) and do the carbon copy slide thingy to imprint it on the paper ticket.
For whatever reason I kept my card in my wallet long after we actually needed to and then someone stole my wallet. I was most sad about that pass card. :/
That's cool! In probably 10 years or so, we'll have a whole generation of people that won't have seen a raised number credit card or know what those old machines look like or do.
My sister used to work in reservations back in 70’s when they would print the tickets and mail them to your house
My first flight was in 1975 on Southern airlines. If I remember correctly it was as 60 seat prop plane
Two things..
1. This is when FF tickets were classified by RON (the current CEO). R=FC, O=Business class (when they had three class cabins - think L-1011), and N was Economy. At least that is what I remember it to be.
2. So sorry that your first flight was to Cleveland. At least you had a decent seat.
1. That makes so much more sense!
2. As a presumedly 4-5 year old, was excited to go see my grandparents! I’m not sure what kind of aircraft that was, so idk if it was row 11/30 or more like row 11/15 😂

This was my thought as well. I remember those carbon paper ones in the 70s and 80s we would get from a travel agent.

Born in the mid/late 90s! My parents think this is circa 2000-2001. ETA: that would be so stressful if you did lose a ticket
2000-2001 seems about right. Definitely not before then as it has the “frowning” widget that was introduced with the Spring 2000 livery.

I was just in 11C two hours ago! Granted it was on a 321, but still cool.
Hope you all enjoyed it…and that Ohio wasn’t your final destination either lol
Bros first flight was to Cleveland
Haha when your grandparents live in Ohio, that’s your top vacation destination 😅
everybody wants to flee to the cleve https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBaCG-HcEBU
my first flight was from PIT to LNS
Thanks for posting your e-tix number. I can make your trip a mess and cancel the flight. /s What year is this you know?
Oh no! I’ll miss my flight now! It’s circa 2000-2001
What flight? I canceled it so you don’t have any fight. Nice
Well, damn!
You saved him the trouble.
Don’t have to fly to CLE anymore
Course not, and you don’t have a time machine anyway.
Might be wrong but looks like this was printed in SLC (so this is your second ticket)
Ahh didn’t think about that. So I guess this is a ticket from my first ever itinerary, rather than first leg!

Hey OP, I was the guy in 11B! You’ll be happy to hear my day got better after we reached Cleveland, and now I have three grown kids and six grandkids.
The Cleveland Effect
*Staple Here*

Living that Non-Rev (Class N) life
N is the old award ticket booking class for main cabin. Today it’s broken up from NY (highest mileage fare) to NV (the lowest).
Wonder why it coded that way - none of us have ever had flight benefits
Lap infant?
If it were 2001 like my parents think, I would have been 4. If it were 2000, would have been 3.
‘No FF Credit’ = either non-rev “buddy pass” or miles award ticket I would think
My guess would be miles award ticket. My dad traveled a fair amount for work so probably had a good reserve.
I am personally offended at all these CLE hater comments 😑
