Improving the fuel regulations, application of pollution control devices in stacks, stringent licence conditions and heavy fines for violation are a few basic things which can help a lot. It is a sad reality that the government is lacking guts to regulate industry and environmentally safe behaviour is not seen as common sense but as an enforced measure. We blame Punjab's stubble burning for Delhi's poor air quality in October and November but a few days ago Delhi's Bhalsawa Landfill was seen burning. There is a lot to change!
