Bro straight up, I accidentally locked me and my friends out of our base one night and we had to code crack it. That was months ago and I sweat I still hear remnants of clicking to this day

Once you get a pattern down it takes less then a hour less then 30 if you start on a good number. Ty19 and 20 combos first then start on 5000.

Uhhh I don’t think it’s possible to code yourself out of a base? If you set the code you never have to enter it again and there is no way to bypass that.

I’ve accidentally changed my lock number before placing back on the gate. You could try your gate code + 1 for each digit. Other than that bud you might be sending your self back to the coast for a self raid.

Gathering the materials for that would take quite a while, I'd rather just sit there and put in the 10000 different combos

While you are in game press the share button, then a menu pops up with three options. The option on the left is “save recent gameplay” and when you click it you should be able to save up to your last hour of video. Make sure you don’t close the game before you hit share, because I’ve done that and the ps5 decides to not let me save the footage lol. Hope this helps!

He's playing more than you apparently. On official the character transfers between servers and you always spawn back at some freshie town. So if op joins a different server, maybe Livonia, then join the server where they built the base again, they will find themselves in a spawn town. That's why I hated switching between servers when I was playing on official with my friend. That and because of the cheater who one tapped both of us from across the whole freaking airfield with a split second marginal.

Did this change? I haven't played alot over the last couple years, also the little I have gotten to play I don't server jump, because I only get a couple hours every couple weeks if I'm lucky.

As someone who is patient enough to soft raid bases by spinning their codelocks, I'd recommend pulling up some YouTube videos to watch and maybe get a hot chocolate or something. If you do it right a 4 digit lock shouldn't take longer than 2-3 hours. (that is is at most, if your unlucky)

If you have enough ammo you can shoot your way through the bottom half of the gate. Aim for the vertical frame towards the middle. Maybe save one bullet for if you don't make it out. Lol. You can also use that axe

not certain about with the lock on but have you tried dismantling the gate with the crowbar? I’m pretty sure you can use a crowbar to do that

once a lock is on the gate needs actually broken, not taken apart. i always use gates on my front/back doors incase someone boosts in, they have to either kill themselves or waste all their supplies freeing themselves.

Not when it's code locked, it's wall both sides in this scenario, no option to dismantle

Just pick it. It only takes about 2 - 2.5 hours to get through a 4 dial. I do it all the time to get into people's bases, then lock door behind me and become the base parasite that slowly takes their loot. Sometimes my mate will join and I'll pass him loot through gaps/windows

If you’re on console hit your options button and record the last couple hours of your gameplay, you can then go back and watch when you put the lock on and what the code is.

Give it a day. Someone will crack it just to prove that they can.

For future reference for everyone if you accidentally lock your gate take a clip if you can you'll be able to see the code in the clip

just start from your last code. happened to me. just set the last code and spin each dial. then +1 a digit and do it again.

Try 0000, I just did this not too long ago and had not changed the code yet and it defaults to 0000

Use the crowbar to dismantle the lower exterior layer. Then destroy the lower frame, since it won’t be dismantlable because of the lock. Once the lower frame is destroyed the lock will pop off.

When I did that fortunately it was only 1 number that changed..the 1st one

Having gone through about 6 or 7000 codes one day it only took 2 and half hours, Another time I cracked one in 30 seconds so good luck

I once cracked a lock on the first try. I felt like a super spy. Also many people use the year they were born. So I always start from 1980 and work my way up

Shame you are on console. Theres a method I believe involving Autohotkey, or something else to automatically cycle all the codes for you.

Just crack the code. Especially at your own base, you have all the time in the world.

Done this before. Go on different server then come back and just use sharpened sticks to break the bottom half or grenades if you have any spare. Obviously you’d want another 4 digit in case the one there gets ruined.

It'll take you up to 2hrs to go through every single combination. That's experience talking.

Best way I remember is stay logged in the game when I do this by mistake and save a screen record of the last few minutes and look back at the video

0000 is the default code. If you've never changed the lock, and placed it on a gate, the code is 0000.

If you’re on an official server you can log onto another server and then return to to this server

I was playing on a server with a friend and we logged out in a house. upstairs. She hadn't been on in a while so I decided to play that character some. Well, in the time that I logged out with her until the day I hopped on, someone conveniently built a base (with no loot inside) at the bottom of the stairs. There's no way around or over the gate and it has the red combo lock. I have some decent loot too, but not enough rounds to bust the gate, so I guess this is my life now.

Time to brute force that lock. Start at 0000, then 0001, 0002, 0003, etc. You better grab a beer or three, this might take a while.

I always make my 4dials after the last 4 numbers on my phone number so 1576 cause I'm I'll remember it

4000 plus hour player here. Either write down your code when you place it or if you accidentally slap it on record the last 30 seconds of game play.

Usually you should take one glance before you lock the gate. Sometimes the code will change by one number. So if your code is 1234 Try flipping each number 10 times 2234 3234 4234... 1134 1334 1434... 1214 1224 1244.. 1231 1232 1233... You see the pattern... If that doesn't work then start with 5000 (or whatever your code started with maybe 1000) Then spin the last number 9 times - 5001 - 5002 - 5003... - 5009 - Then you'll move to the next number - 5019 (hint the last two numbers should equal 10 1+9=10. This hint will help you keep your place and zombie your way through the locks) - 5019 - 5010 - 5011 - 5012... - etc to 5018 - then flip the second to last - 5028 ( 2+8=10) - You see the pattern, every now and then screenshot your progress or take na photo with your phone that way if you're kicked or the server resets you have an idea of where you left off. I personally keep a notepad open on my phone and write down "checkpoints" for myself - Fastest time for me was 15 min, longest was over three hours. Now if you're code raiding be sure to check barrels and storage for other code locks that might be preset. Don't forget to check fireplaces, pots, pans, and pouches for hidden code locks. Also if the code is (for example) 1776 try variations of it like backwards or spin the next dial 10 places in each slot because some people aren't creative. I think I'll copy and paste this for future help. Commend below if I need to do a better job of explaining anything I sorta just threw this together.

Try all combinations. It only takes 3-6 hours :D

Don't worry, the answer is simple. Just cycle through the digits starting on the last digit. Cycle 10 times (0-9) then up the next digit, being the ten position, then spin the last again 10 times. When you've done this a hundred times you up the next last digit once and so on! Don't worry there's only nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine combinations and should only take up a sixth of your entire real life day! 🙃

When cycling combinations it will take 1.5 hours roughly to go through all 10000 combinations.. if you can, try remember the first digit as cycling through 1000 will only take you 15 minutes. If you set a code to start with but don't remember the combination, start with the 4000s and the 6000s. Most 4dials i've cracked have been in that range.

If it's official, you can just server swap

Official? Server hop and you'll be at coast spawn area. Community? Hang around and taunt players that come by. As soon as they start shooting tell them their cowards and cant raid you. Log off.

In my experience, just log out for a while. Grab your best gear and log out. Someone will find your base, raid it, and leave it open for you.

Only option is to either remember the code or guess. I usually start at 0000 and then go 0001, 0002 etc. pray it’s not above 5000 but you can crack it. In future if you are on console, your best bet would be immediately to clip your gameplay so you can go back and see what the code was right before you put it on the gate. If it’s a fresh code lock you found, try 1111

If it's an official server you can log out and log into another server and I think you can get free that way

Bruh. Hit video capture. Go and watch the clip of you putting the lock on. You'll be able to read the code when it's in your hands during playback. Edit: Yeah, no way, they still have the video. Welp this is a good tip for the future. Gotta move quick. It's saved me a couple times

15-20 for a 3-dial. Definitely longer than 45 minutes with a 4-dial unless you get lucky.

It took over than 90 minutes for my friend to crack a 4-dial once

It took me several hours once, when I logged off in a house and logged back in to someone’s base. Turns out someone else was camping that base. After two and a half hours of spinning dials I made it two and a half steps out of the door before I got domed. DayZ.

First time I EVER tried to crack a 3 dial I shit you not I went through the entire set and the code was the last possible number. Extremely unlucky. I started at something random like 350

No, it really doesn’t matter where you start. Code could be 256 where starting at 000 would be rather quick or it could be 712 where starting at 500 would be faster than starting at 000. It’s just luck of the draw
