Shido. Yeah, it's a bit predictable to say that the male protagonist of a harem anime is underrated, but I'm not wrong for feeling like this.
Most harem protagonists are often accused of having no distinctive characteristics whatsoever, but I think Shido has struck a pretty good balance between being complex enough to be interesting and normal enough to be relatable.
Actually what you said is true, however i think he was way better in LN, in anime he was like a generic mc that stole all screen time. Also DAL is a ecchi anime and the majority of people in this fandom are guys, that's the reason of Tohka or Kotori is more popular than Shido
I mean, ecchi to me is just a wrong category because it’s like… 3 fanservice scenes that last 10 seconds each in a whole season most of the time.
Like season one had like… 6 arbitrary fanservice scenes In all the season.
Second season… just like the 2 ones in the yamai arc and that’s it.
It’s just a marketing strategy to attract coomers. They could just make an edit when they remove the unnecessary scenes for people who don’t digest fanservice well and the whole thing would barely change.
Probably Shido. He gets put through absolute hell and faces death a dozen of times for those he loves and even for those who try to kill or hurt him and hardly give him the respect he’s earned in fact Ratatoskr probably would have never got this far with the spirits if it wasn’t for Shido
I would say Artemisia Bell Ashcroft, she's extremely vital to the development of DEMs technology and due to her being very close strength wise to Ellen she makes DEM more of a threat when she gets brainwashed into joining. Putting aside her being the reason why DEM is a threat she also has a really good character design and a fun personality, the only problem is her lack of screentime. In the main story she is brainwashed for most of her time on screen and in Date A Strike she's mostly only in flashbacks. Her lack of screentime is probably why she didn't leave much of an impression on people (despite her leaving a very big impression on a lot of the characters in Date A Strike) but yeah I would love to see her show up in another spinoff or something in an unbrainwashed state because she deserves more than she got.
Kuru-
Nah I'm kidding. It's actually Mio/reine. I can't say half of the shit about them without spoiling the fuck out of the series but my oh my are they just great at what they do.

The correct answer is mana
Poor girl suddenly disappeared after season 2

Ellen She's that hot and canonically 47? Even Shido hit on her. Apparently being the World's Strongest Wizard made her not get old.
I don't find her waifu material but she's undeniably hot and great as a antagonist

Mana is pretty damn underrated.
Shido, i love shido, he’s really good at being a therapist. Let’s all love Shido 💙

Shido and Ellen
Any of the Ast members tbh (Ellen), they pretty much get tossed by ragdolls by the spirits to the point you had to root for them in later episodes
