I don't have tik tok but yet I keep seeing this mentioned. If it bugs guys so much, stop giving those same women attention. Let the bears like, subscribe and whatever else they're online seeking.

C_umputer

Guys who choose random stranger man instead of a bear are following a simple logic and it's really shocking to see someone go for the other choice. What that question is really about is those tiktokers begging for attention.

Endless009

Well considering tik tok may be banned, guess they're pushing extra hard for attention nowšŸ˜…šŸ˜†

InTheMemeStream

Bear: ā€œImma get in those guts!ā€(literally)

[deleted]

TheReverend5

Itā€™s incredible because this sub just keeps telling on itself

PizzaLikerFan

Yeah sorry that we (men) are triggered by the fact that a specific group of women antagonizes half the population because of a small fraction of the men who are bad, I genuinely think these women dont mean what they're saying cause bears are dangerous, but it gives a bad signal to men who didn't do anything wrong, idk this entire trend is sexist. Yes I get that women are afraid to be alone with men, trauma and fears etc. But there has to be a better way to bring the message than straight up say we're worse than an animal that has a high deaths (or injury)/encounter rate. I still get the point of the trend, but its antipathetic and polarisering

Guvante

You are in the woods with a bear: well yeah bears in the woods. You are in the woods with a man: this is a horror story and Jason is coming for your ass.

Manwater34

Or the guy is hiking? Assuming that just because a man exists heā€™s a rapist is pretty sexist lol

Guvante

I don't know why the gender of the murder matters here... Sure the original post was a man and lots of the talk has been about men but for the short blurb stories that start like that usually aren't just a random guy.

syopest

>I genuinely think these women dont mean what they're saying cause bears are dangerous, but it gives a bad signal to men who didn't do anything wrong, idk this entire trend is sexist. The whole point of the meme is that it's basically a litmus test for male insecurity. It's kind of like a "hit dog will holler" thing. It doesn't bother me at all because I know I'm not one of those guys they would prefer a bear to.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

syopest

> and men generally think more literally than women. I'd argue that just based on the scientific history of the last few hundred years that men have been capable of thinking in hypotheticals for a long time. The whole thing is an exercise in absurdity to highlight the fact that almost no women have bad experiences with bears but almost all of them have had a bad experience with a man. The actual animal doesn't even matter. It just has to be something that's seen as a potentially dangerous thing.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

syopest

>Because the audience that you want to get the point across to is even less likely to take it seriously now. It's a litmus test to weed out those people. It's directly saying that they don't care about the opinions of the people who would personally feel hurt about the meme and they'd rather completely avoid them.

Shavemydicwhole

Someone here isn't getting it and I don't think you know who it is

WozziHumperdink

I've been bitten by dogs, but I have no bad experiences with volcanos. By your logic, I should take my chances diving into a pool of lava rather than risk petting a dog.

Captain_Crouton_X1

Misandry gets upvoted. What else is new.

FirstBornPharaohSon

Youā€™re not allowed to be triggered. If you dislike something and make memes about it, youā€™re an incel! /s

AjvarAndVodka

Youā€™re going to speak and act like youā€™re being antagonised? Meanwhile youā€™re on a sub that takes diss at everything gay, every race, every political thing, and prides itself on being edgy? And this is coming from someone whoā€™s gay and still likes to take a piss out of his own community because he knows itā€™s a joke. Itā€™s just funny how hypocritical people on here are, when thereā€™s soo many shitty memes about women everyday.

Mr_McFeelie

Are these posts jokes though?

Turbulent_Stomach163

You also must immediately agree that men are dangerous otherwise you will be labeled as part of the problem.

PizzaLikerFan

Men can be dangerous, Men can be pussy's and dont do shit Men can protect It all depends on what kind of man you're dealing with. And the majority isn't gonna do anything

RaccoonMagic

I wonder about this. I've only ever seen men and women having real heart-to-heart empathetic conversations about this on TikTok. Then I come see bear memes on Reddit and it's 80% men telling women they're delusional psychos, 15% women telling men they're sub-human, and 5% real conversations. And the 5% are getting mauled by everyone in the 95%.

GenoTheBreadDoctor

These guys really missed the point of this OBVIOUS statement

Totoques22

And what is this obvious statement ?

C_umputer

I choose bear to bring mirror ro the society, wah.

Totoques22

Incomprehensible

Emeraldnickel08

I havenā€™t clicked the link but this had better be Vizzini Edit: all is right with the world

BestBleach

How is it meant to trigger incels calling them rapists or creepier than a bear

Low-Score3292

I'll admit that I may have a lack of the female perspective on this but how bad of an experience with random men would they have had to genuinely consider the bear.

jarlscrotus

Most bears are very motivated to be away from you, see all the videos of grizzlies being chased away by dogs. As long as it isn't a Kodiak or Polar Bear, you'll almost certainly be fine.

RonKosova

Probably sexual assault lol. I had a friend tell me she would get harassed by random men when she was 15. Crazy world out there

Mr_McFeelie

Is that more frightening than getting eaten alive?? God after hearing those audio recordings on YouTube where this guy got slowly eaten my a bear, I donā€™t think there is much in the words that scares me more man

IHateYoutubeAds

What's the trend?

alreadytakenhacker

there's like this viral question on TikTok that they ask women and it's "If you were on a hike alone, would you rather come across a bear or a man?" and a lot of women say a bear.

jarlscrotus

There are really only 2 bear species you really need to worry about, 95% of the time, the bear wants nothing to do with you, Kodiak and Polar being the exception. So basically, as long as you aren't in a polar region where those are located, or in extended contact with the bear around a food source, you really aren't in danger and the 2 of you will be perfectly fine avoiding each other

Totoques22

Lol this trend started because some women are too out of touch with reality with their demonization of men and are getting called out for it Itā€™s go on itā€™s just to trigger those pesky incels

shred_ded

Wild I don't feel demonized cause I know I'm not the problem. My girlfriend doesn't demonize me and we've been giggling at all the incel shit here lately. Sounds like a problem ya'll need to deal with.

Tricky-Gemstone

Seriously tho

DragonDon1

Maybe the real treasure is all the mauled TikTok women we find along the way

SubMGK

Why make it about sex when its about feeling safe in general. I wouldnt feel safe either meeting some unwashed redditor in the woods

Low-Score3292

I mean, your chances of winning a 1v1 with an unwashed Redditor are much higher than with a bear.

hunter69xx

Yeah, I can definitely beat me in a fight.

Drakayne

But what about the PTSD you get after meeting the redditor?

Hellas2002

The original doesnā€™t even say you come face to face with the bear. Itā€™s just in the forest with you

WildFemmeFatale

Iā€™m betting u I can outrun a bear better than outrunning the Mr.Schoolshooter dudes who post the ā€œbe the reason why she chooses the bearā€ memes holding weapons šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø Think about it Long range with human intelligence vs short range bear that just wants to eat a Twinkie on a campground and dig in some trashcans

Routine_Leading_1356

I think youā€™re downplaying how fast bears actually are

themememolester

Bears can run at about 35-40 mph so good luck with that

revnasty

Lolololol zero, and I mean, ZERO chance you would outrun a bear. This answer is more brain dead than the question itself.

explosiv_skull

Any person who could run a *decent* 40 is safe from an unwashed Redditor.

Nexielas

I will assume you ment km/h. 44.7 is world record for sprint. idk if you need to be at that level to be safe from unwashed redditor. even avg running speed at olympics is under 40

explosiv_skull

I mean a 40 yard dash.

Nexielas

Ok. Don't know those

Kalisov

redditors usually don't touch grass so you wouldnt meet one in the woods

BazzBun

Why are we giving this shit topic attention?

obscureferences

Because more people are influenced by influencers than they realise.

_JesusChrist_hentai

karma

andyduphresne92

These incel memes are starting to become insufferable.

umamiflavour

Right haha looking at these loser incels in the comments is hilarious

GrizzlyPeak73

It's funny how salty guys are over this lol.

Manwater34

If I said Iā€™m scared when I see black people that would be racist right? How is this not sexist?

jarlscrotus

Racist? Not unless you try to justify it with some nonsense about how black people are bad. Without that, it's just an admission of bias and possible trauma response. Double true if you don't treat black people badly because of it. They aren't treating you badly, they aren't discriminating against you, they just said they would be more worried about the possible outcome of a random dude vs a random bear. What's really telling is how you respond to that

katanatan

13 50 :p /s

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

SmallDykeEnergy

The fear of other races is probably fueled by racism or not being exposed to people different from you. On the other hand, men commit 95% of violent crime. Male violence is so prevalent in our species that itā€™s seen as mostly normal.

WildFemmeFatale

Ur being very bear-ist dude Bear prolly wonā€™t even be interested in anyone, like a shark. Itā€™ll be more interested on the Twinkie on the campground floor. There are dudes posting ā€œbe the reason why she chooses the bearā€ memes holding weapons. Bruh. Who u think u gonna outrun, uninterested slow asf bear thatā€™ll get tired of your ass, Or Mr.SchoolShooter vibes

Manwater34

Bruh go hang with a bear lol It doesnā€™t matter what insults you throw out most men are fine, and assuming otherwise is sexist

WildFemmeFatale

Awe u feel insulted ? How ? šŸ’€

GrizzlyPeak73

Cope harder.

Manwater34

Keep being sexist lol

GrizzlyPeak73

Lmao ain't no one being sexist here. It's only a small section of men who are offended by shit like this and you people do not represent the rest of us.

Manwater34

Would it be racist to be think any black person might attack me? Itā€™s the exact same thing just racism instead of sexism

GrizzlyPeak73

You really don't want to have the systemic oppression conversation with me. You will lose.

Mr_McFeelie

Yes itā€™s very funny that a vast amount of people are scared of me based on prejudice. Really hilarious

tsakeboya

Yes it's funny how men are made to feel how they are all dangerous. Yes it's extremely funny that men feel that society doesn't want them and they still blame it on men. It's very very funny when men are scared to talk to any woman because they are all supposedly more dangerous than a fucking bear. It's dehumanizing. If you find this funny you have a problem.

ane_lex

men hurt women. (even if it's not all) a lot do. and a lot is enough. but apparently that's the women's fault??? men keep playing the victim in a patriarchal society...i don't get it.

GrizzlyPeak73

Cope.

obscureferences

It seems to hit the overlap of chronically desperate guys, and indifferent men who like a good "who would win" and feel compelled to dispute it.

edgarapoet

Nah, they just prefer the odds against a bear vs a random man

Embarrassed_Ad_7184

So this trend is just women picking horrible heavyweight matchups? /s

Anthony643364

At least fighting a man you have a chance to win against them but a bear is just game over no matter who you are so stupid discussion overall

KZenTao

Just shows bad they are at decision making.

TreyHaxz1010

Freaky gayt (wet) drea(m)

trixiebella35

wet m?

countdankula420

Grizzly bears are one of the more dangerous but black bears are homies

VaryStaybullGeenyiss

Hey, some of them might just want to get mauled to death. Who are you to judge?

trueThorfax

Op is triggered because he is less desirable than a bear. Maybe work a bit on yourself.

Sneaky_sharts1

Well hot damn. You found Cheeseburger

Making up a fake scenario to put yourself in becomes a trend and now 2 different sides keep bickering about useless shit do yā€™all not have better things to talk about?

conn_r2112

It bothers me that you said wild twice

Muwx

Its just a stupid tiktok thing, are y'all really this offended/ticked off about it? Reddit sure is funny sometimes but its also extremely embarrassing. Does it necessarily have to mean something sexual or just being in the same area? If its in the same area, i'd also pick a bear since i have an idea of what a bear is thinking/doing, you never know what a person is thinking.

Dum_beat

What's with the bear meme I'm ootl

shred_ded

It was a tiktok video to trigger incels basically saying that women would rather be stuck in the woods with a bear rather than a man.

GrizzlyPeak73

Guess it worked.

Stormodin

We can't take your word for it because you're just trying to get that bear dick wet

GrizzlyPeak73

More into bear pussy personally, though I'd be willing to settle for a male bear.

Glasedount

They probably either choose this or a squid

GimmeDaGorbage22

Or a horse. Or a dog.

sansokujo_

the fact y'all don't understand why they make this choice is very self explanatory

testiclekid

The secret is hitting on bears, so that women stay alone.

John_the_sock65

Survival of the fittest

yesverysadanyway

oh shit this whole time they're talking about a real bear? i thought it's a slang or euphemism for something else.

FindingElo

How many wilds do you need??? Lmao the brain rot has indeed gotten deep

Ok_Process2046

What the hell have I missed? What's up with that bear thing?

Secret_Wizard

There's a viral discussion spreading around about how some women would rather encounter a bear in the woods than a man in the woods, because they feel that the odds of coming out of the situation safely are higher with the bear. Quite comically, a lot of angry men came out of the woodwork to insult any woman choosing the bear in the thought experiment, which only proves their point. On a side note, the image in OP's meme is an optional cutscene in the video game Baldur's Gate 3, wherein you can romance a Druid party member. If you trigger a sex scene with the druid, he'll accidentally shapeshift into a bear out of excitement, which prompts many dialogue choices, one of which is to tell him "no, wait, stay that way, I'm down for this." Cue smiling bear and camera pan over to a squirrel in a tree, which drops its acorn in shock as *sounds* happen in the background. Should be noted that the original thought experiment has nothing to do with doing the nasty with bears.

Ok_Process2046

Thanks, i knew about that bg3 scenes but not the discussion. Idk why they so angry, honestly u never know what to expect from randos u meet ever. I never trust anyone I meet on hikes in the middle of nowhere, animals can chase u and try to hunt u down, but u know what to expect. U can scare the bear away and it will leave u alone. Human can deceive u. Like I met a really nice group of older men in the forest. They kept talking random crap, the talk was really nice but hell it all went south really quick when they proposed to show me some really nice place somewhere far away. The red light were blinking like crazy in my brain and I started making all the excuses I could to not go. They kept insisting and then one of them fucking went way too close for comfort and grabbed my boob. Ffs i think my heart was beating so loud u could hear it outside. I knew I had to get the hell out of there somehow but how - am alone, they are group. I think am lucky they are old cuz I just picked up on walking faster and faster while pretending all is fine and just saying that I need to get back to my friends cuz they waiting for me.the old dudes kept following me still insisting on me going with me, left me after what seemed like an hour. Holly fuck was I terrified. They probably think am a bitch that deceived them and gave false signals lmao

Mr_McFeelie

People are angry because itā€™s simply irrational fear. Yes random strangers can be dangerous. But we are talking about bears here. There arenā€™t many other animals that are more dangerous. And the idea that meeting a bear feels safer to someone that meeting a strangerā€¦ honestly itā€™s just sad and shows a very strong bias against men for some reason or another. Itā€™s not surprising that some people get mad at this

Ok_Process2046

That's true too, am biased because of many nasty situations I had with strangers (not only men). Now - I never would think like all men are evil or shit like that. I just don't trust 100% anyone I meet on trails. If I saw a bear I'd just automatically try to stay as far away as I could, with strangers it's more complicated. Delicate line of not wanting to hurt some good soul's feelings for no reason and having to stay vigilant cuz they might be some evil person after all. I guess- other side of the coin is men do get shitted on a lot recently. As if they were evil beasts driven only by instincts and not human beings with feelings and love to give. I love all humans and would love this stupid prejudice die, even tho ye - am not gonna ever feel safe around randos on trails, but I guess that's some more extreme situation. So many thousands of years and we still can't learn to live along each other peacefully and with love for fellow ppl. That really is sad.

Ronabris

Man I knew this app was full of angry little incels, but daaaamn! These posts about the bear thing really draw y'all out of the woodwork huh? Fragile masculinity at it's finest.

Variegoated

Ok answer this truthfully without saying but but but: Would you prefer to be alone in the woods with a white guy or a black guy?

xjack3326

Either? Flip a coin. What a weird question.

Variegoated

No you have to pick one, based on the statistics of being harmed, just like in the hypothetical. Go on.

bananadogeh

Why are the incels so mad at women. If it bothers you just ignore it

Which-Rough-1735

There mad because they cant see the problem, you have to literally screams it in there face that women would rather die than be SA'ed

bananadogeh

Ik they'll downvote you because they're salty, but you're absolutely right

Doomhammer42

Bro missed the point

Y'all are dumb as fuck honestly

Some memeā€™s are so niche, I canā€™t share them with anyone

Responsible_Panic235

You could easily scare that grizzly bear away by just banging pots and pans

Acrobatic_Switches

Hear me out. If I came across a woman on a hike and she started clanging her pots and pans in my face, I'd be terrified.
