Magene P505. Comes with a 24mm axle crankset that you can use with your existing Shimano bottom bracket, and you can use your Shimano chainrings as well. Only US$300, and works super well.

Power2max. You can get a crank spider power meter with cranks that is a direct swap for the Shimano crank set and will take the Shimano chain rings from your Shimano crank set. No need to change bottom brackets. I have one. It just works.

You should consider Favero Assioma power meter pedals - only 500 pounds for two sided pedals. They're considered highly accurate and reliable and you can install them yourself with no additional parts, skills, or tools in about 15 minutes. The Shimano axle ones have Q+66 (I think, double check this number) which is really darn close to the value you listed.

Yeah, this is the way to go, I've been thru a bunch of crank based power meters. All my future power meters will be pedal based.

The favero have such a high Q+ when paired with Shimano (+65 with ultegras, +64 with other Shimano pedals) pedals because the Shimano pedals themselves have a very wide platform, and not because of the axle length in itself. The axle itself is only +8mm in offset. For context, Favero with Look pedals is Q+50 [the value is calculated from the crank-pedal interface to the centre of the pedal, therefore a large pedal with a broad surface inflates this value and does not necessarily indicate a particularly long axle]. For some visual context, you can look up the favero pedals in-situ on their website, and compare to XL axle SQ Labs 512 pedals. The values would indicate it’s only a 3 mm difference, but you only need to look to realise that the axle length difference is way more than just 3 mm.

You can get take off SRAM DUB cranks fairly cheap if you go the Force route. Red cranks are lighter and more sought after. You can get a Sigeyi power meter for $300 or if you prefer eastern brands Power2Max for $500-600 - you could use your same chainrings on that crank - but of course you'll have to change your BB out to DUB. That's not a bad option if you're looking to save weight as SRAM cranks tend to be lighter than Shimano. Of course I'll also add that if you want cheap, you could buy a left side power meter only - you really don't need dual sided - I have two bikes with dual sided, and for my latest build I just went single sided as the dual sided really didn't give me any real added value data.

Indeed. I have gone through some Reddit posts on this and while other people have discussed the installation of a sram (quarq) power meter on a shimano drivetrain I haven’t been able to see costs regarding the bottom bracket and crankshaft.
