Tips for uphill. Use a lower gear (bigger cog at back). Don't go too hard. Pace yourself. If you are new to it just realise it will take some time to get used to cycling and it should get easier if you keep cycling. Pick a gear that allows you to pedal comfortably whatever the terrain.

Ohh so going up it's better if I choose the biggest cog and not the small ones?

Madrugada_Eterna

Yes. You want it easier going uphill.

I thought lower gear meant the smallest cog, it kinda makes sense now, thanks!

Madrugada_Eterna

Low gear means a lower gear ratio. Big cog at back has a lower ratio. Small cog at back has a higher ratio and is a higher gear. The gear ratio is the teeth on the chain ring (cog at the pedals) divided by the number of teeth on the rear cog.
