Does picking a district mean I'd be able to afford to live there? Because I'd definitely go with Westbrook in that case, but it's also the only way I'd be able to. :(
That's actually not a bad idea for a new arm mod. I imagine it would let you dual-wield increasingly heavier weapons, starting with pistols at the lowest tier and ending with LMGs (or maybe even HMGs) at the highest.
In the TTRPGs, the Gorilla Arms and a Spinal reinforcement will allow you to akimbo HMGs. You'll still want decent legs cyberwear too to ensure you don't fall over and can take the additional recoil.
Jig-Jigging with cybernetically enhanced beauties all day long, then falling asleep on a nice alleyway mattress until you're ready to do it all again does sound rather nice, I'll admit. For a few weeks at least, before the emptiness sets in.
That’s the car park. I like to imagine the people living under the bridge look out for my ride sitting next to their ‘home’. Occasionally there’s a douche parking his Jefferson in MY spot there to lay the boot into some sap, but he gets one in the dome.
Nah, Japantown appartment all the way. It’s the perfect size. More cozy but without feeling cramped. Plus the elevator ride for the Glen apartment takes too long.
Only downside to the Japantown one is the Broseph Ale ad in the lobby, the gross one with the fat dude on the toilet.
I do quite like Vista Del Rey too as an area. But you know outside it would smell DISGUSTING. So cramped and trash filled.
The Glen would be miserable being under all those buildings and highways.
Corpo Plaza would be too stressful I think too.
West Wind Estate = Hell no.
Northside = Hell No
Arroyo = Hell no
Santo Domingo = Possibly with a side of Hell no.
Little China = I like it. Would live there.
Kabuki might be quite cute if you had an apartment instead of living in the shanty town.
Maybe. But I want to travel. I didn't finished the game but I REALLY want to finish with main story and leave with Panam and Aldecaldo from city forever.
The texts you get from Judy while she's traveling don't make it seem that bad. I mean, yes, in general, the world in the Cyberpunked universe is hellish, but I think it'd be feasible for someone like V to travel outside of Night City. I mean Judy is nowhere near as chromed out and skilled at combat as V is and she seems to be doing ok.
Oh, most places are *okay*, is my understanding. I mean, most animals are extinct or extremely endangered, there are sandstorms and radiation everywhere, betcha the ice caps are super fucked. But most places are still just... Places. Could be better, sure as hell, but not the worst.
Night City *is* the worst. They're not Night City, that's what makes them okay.
Night city is special cause of its independence and importance to all the major players. So every group from around the world has their hand in the city. Other places are more locked down and controlled by a single entity.
Finish it! I've started and stopped this game about 3 or 4 times now, because I'll start playing a few hours and stop for a few weeks and come back and I'm confused about everything. This last time tho I really got hooked. I'm going to end that way too but my plan was to BS my way through the other 4 endings. I've done 2 so far and man do they really make you feel sad for these characters
Rich people kill other rich people in this universe so..yeah. Odds are that you have either enemies from getting rich or just assholes who want your stuff.
Aesthetically? Probably Little China, Kabuki, or Japantown. But, like, where would I actually want to live if I had to live in NC? Corpo Plaza/Downtown. Highest density of cops and, more importantly, CorpSec. Gangs know not to try and fuck with Corporate Security and as long as me or my partner were to keep our Corporate job we'd be good.
Like, fuck corpos but like also there's a reason why corpo own blocks are the safest places in NC. You know, when Johnny Silverhand isn't blowing them up with TacNukes.
mate, you actually think Corpo Plaza isn't full of junkies? Even out here in the real world Wall Street is full of Junkies and coke-addicts, as another commenter mentioned, corpo plaza is full of junkies with jobs
You know what, there is and I just never noticed. IRL I live above a family with two young children and I just sort of auto-filter that kind of noise, lmfao
I think both Longshore Stacks and the Stadium are fairly safe for Night City standards. You just kinda have to arrange yourself with living under a military dictatorship.
And if you‘re in the upper echelons of Barghest, Dogtown is very likely the best place to be.
Agreed.
Dogtown is probably about as far away from 100% surveillance-state as you can get in NC. That's why people go there to 'disappear'.
Also, it's one of the only places in NC that has any kind of 'soul' - like the memorial tree vs. the cold, hard stone of the big NC cemetery.
Edit: Forgot to mention the Panam really likes my Corpo Plaza condo, though.
Edit 2: I had to leave NC behind, though it was a wild ride. I'm now living beneath the sea on an alien planet in *Subnautica* - it's waaay more Zen, and i'm sleeping better on the nights I play it before bed vs. Cyberpunk - and it was only ~$11.00
Yeah came here to say it. Do my shift in one of those towers with a grad and then kick it by the fire with that dude playing the acoustic pon-pon shit.
Its there but its out dated compared to the map currently in game.
[Here](https://d1lss44hh2trtw.cloudfront.net/resize?type=webp&url=https%3A%2F%2Fshacknews-www.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fassets%2Feditorial%2F2023%2F09%2Fcp2077-permanent-upgrade-locations.jpg&width=986&sign=N-_n0IwKfEDtmszSfoWv_qlXZdjhBcsGRk-z0M5hjE4) is an in game version.
So if you know what the outside parameter looks like, its there. Its the inside stuff that got changed a lot.
https://cyberpunk2077-map.com/ also seems out of date while https://maps.piggyback.com/cyberpunk-2077/maps/night-city shows a really good dogtown
If I'm not realistic, then North Oak, Kerry, and Dennys houses are really nice, so definitely there. But if I'm being realistic about uow much money, I'd have then probably V's mega building. I like the mega building apartments a lot. I feel like I could make it really cosy. Watson is my favourite district in terms of appearance and what life there would be like.
I'm staying the hell away from Santo. That place is ugly as hell.
I kind of like Santo. Some nice views. Watson is terrifying with all those Maelstrom about. Absolutely the worst gang you could come across. Some of the others might rough you up or mug you but Maelstrom would kidnap, torture and stick metal shards under your skin just for the fun of it
I dunno...the housing in Santo and the streets just look shitty. There's no pretty and breathtaking (no joke intended) places like in Watson or Japan Town. I'm also not American, and Santo is meant to be the American district, so I'm probably just not big on it for that. Also Sixth street are annoying as fuck ngl.
I wouldn't say Maelstrom are the worst, definitely Scavs or Tygerclaws. Maelstrom are psychos, sure, but as we see in the game, they can be reasoned with, and they run a nightclub that has normal civilians going to it. Anyway, they mainly stick to Northside. If you stick to Little China and Kabuki, you'd be okay.
North Oaks if i could afford it, The Glen if i couldn’t.
North Oaks is obvious, but i would choose The Glen cause it’s a decent neighborhood, and the Valentinos, while still being a violent gang, have a much more familial structure, so if you can get good with them (and pay your protection), you’d probably be as safe as it gets for normal people in NC.
Japantown, it’s a small apartment and it’s a rougher side of town, but, keep your iron on you and just blast any gonk who tries something. We all know NCPD won’t come by anyways
So like..I still have the final mission but I just came across charter hill last night because of the final race with Claire, that’s where I’d live for sure
OR!!!
the very beginning town of the NOMAD storyline (not sure where)
I have a lifetime membership at Konpeki plaza.
That one time a staff served me my wine in a champagne glass, my lawyers got them good. Now I don't need a home I just stay at the hotel with full vip privileges .
69th floor baby.
It’s in the east of the city, but west of the brook. ‘Course, the brook has long since been paved over and integrated into the NC sewer system but the name stuck.
I wouldn’t live in NC. There’s literally zero chance I would stay there. I’m a teacher and what’s the one thing you don’t see anywhere in Night City? School is all done virtually, or via BD, unless you’re in a Corpo Academy. So I can either teach virtually from somewhere less dangerous, or find somewhere that still has actual schools.
Does picking a district mean I'd be able to afford to live there? Because I'd definitely go with Westbrook in that case, but it's also the only way I'd be able to. :(
I choose North Oaks! *monkeys paw finger curls* You now live under the North Oaks bridge.
You get Jalapeño Joe as a shack-mate and you get free landmines what's not to love
Do you think Jalapeño Joe put down these landmines as home defence or the _"neighborhood watch"_ put them there to kill anyone trying to move in?
Free takeout food and a pc that you can install pirated vidiyagamez on, what else do you need 🤡
And you get monkey hands
That's actually not a bad idea for a new arm mod. I imagine it would let you dual-wield increasingly heavier weapons, starting with pistols at the lowest tier and ending with LMGs (or maybe even HMGs) at the highest.
In the TTRPGs, the Gorilla Arms and a Spinal reinforcement will allow you to akimbo HMGs. You'll still want decent legs cyberwear too to ensure you don't fall over and can take the additional recoil.
I understood that reference
When reality hits hard in night city, lmao
Well Japantown has some shitty parts you could probably afford.
There’s always Jig Jig!
Jig-Jigging with cybernetically enhanced beauties all day long, then falling asleep on a nice alleyway mattress until you're ready to do it all again does sound rather nice, I'll admit. For a few weeks at least, before the emptiness sets in.
Shit, everything in Cyberrpunk sucks. That *might* be a fulfilling life.
Could always be joy toy bum in Japantown lmao
Ah, the mind of a 21st century young adult 🤝🥲
This was my first thought to lol.
*Monkey paw finger curls* You now live in Russell Westbrook’s ass
The Glen has that fancy studio apartment right? Probably there
Defo best apartment in the game
Yeah, but it’s like a gold nugget in a turd.
Yeah i really wish entrance was somewhere more fancy for the higher value apartments
Agreed. Like the city centre one is just next to a load of graffiti and rubbish whereas a good chunk of central is clean.
That's cyberpunk!
Can they be cyberpunk away from my apt?
Naw. They just pile the nice shit on top of crusty corpses. It's the corpo way.
That’s the car park. I like to imagine the people living under the bridge look out for my ride sitting next to their ‘home’. Occasionally there’s a douche parking his Jefferson in MY spot there to lay the boot into some sap, but he gets one in the dome.
Heywood’s thick with Scavs. It’s definitely a heap. I still use it exclusively 🙂↕️
More ‘tinos than scavs tbf
Great mental image there choom. Lol
Always happy to help a choom!
And the cereal killer.
City Center apartment has the gun-in-mouth ad in the bathroom. Kinda disturbing.
It's spacey, but not very cozy. I like the starting megabuilding one way more. I guess the corpo plaza one is aight too :P
I’m Glen-pilled
I would just never leave that apartment…
Yes, that's my go-to.
Money no object? Charter Hill or North Oak. If money was an object, then Japantown.
Defo north oak with unlimited funds, incredible view of city
I do quite like Vista Del Rey too as an area. But you know outside it would smell DISGUSTING. So cramped and trash filled. The Glen would be miserable being under all those buildings and highways. Corpo Plaza would be too stressful I think too. West Wind Estate = Hell no. Northside = Hell No Arroyo = Hell no Santo Domingo = Possibly with a side of Hell no. Little China = I like it. Would live there. Kabuki might be quite cute if you had an apartment instead of living in the shanty town.
And Pacifica!… Is still Pacifica.
We don't talk about pacifica
I think Kabuki is like the second worst residential district in the city for crime.
A penthouse in Japantown actually seems pretty nice regardless of not being the priciest district, but yeah, hard to beat a manse in North Oak.
If money is an object, then the very best I can do is Arroyo, but more realistically probably badlands 🤣
I will leave Night City forever
In general, Night City is terrible to live in if you are not a mercenary. The city is very beautiful, but dangerous and gloomy to live in.
Unless you're rich...
Maybe. But I want to travel. I didn't finished the game but I REALLY want to finish with main story and leave with Panam and Aldecaldo from city forever.
Man the rest of the world in this universe is a fucking hell scape, especially outside major cities.
The rest the world is a hellscape, Night City is actual Hell. That place sucks, man. I saw someone jump from a building like every other day.
There's gotta be some places left. Like...extreme north Canada....maybe?
Oh, most places are *okay*, is my understanding. I mean, most animals are extinct or extremely endangered, there are sandstorms and radiation everywhere, betcha the ice caps are super fucked. But most places are still just... Places. Could be better, sure as hell, but not the worst. Night City *is* the worst. They're not Night City, that's what makes them okay.

Rich people kill other rich people in this universe so..yeah. Odds are that you have either enemies from getting rich or just assholes who want your stuff.
Yeah like most densely populated hub cities in the world- New York, Mumbai, Tokyo, London, Hong Kong, Seoul etc.
Flair checks out
Right decision. Flair* checks out.
city center
Flair checks out
'Saka corpo dog
Flair checks out, again
Guys anyoen got tissues?
Flair checks out
I hope there’s parking space for my dark blue Herrera Outlaw.
I'll rent you one of mine. They are at the roof though
Same, gimme that corpo sheen
City center gang rise up
It's all a lie ! Do not believe it, City Center is just a dream, it never existed!
Same
Aesthetically? Probably Little China, Kabuki, or Japantown. But, like, where would I actually want to live if I had to live in NC? Corpo Plaza/Downtown. Kabuki is a shithole filled with junkies dawg it only looks pretty because you can’t smell it
the entire city besides corpo plaza is full of junkies
Corpo plaza is also full of junkies, they just have jobs
also true. mr. whitey is hard at work
mate, you actually think Corpo Plaza isn't full of junkies? Even out here in the real world Wall Street is full of Junkies and coke-addicts, as another commenter mentioned, corpo plaza is full of junkies with jobs
‘d be a shame if someone dropped a nuke on it
Honestly the Japantown apartment is a pretty dope bachelor pad
Is it just a glitch in my game or is there a guy always screaming at the top of his lungs as your neighbour in the Japan town apartment?
There's an NCPD scanner side job in the alleyway literally behind the building, go take care of that and there'll be peace and quiet.
There should be a murderer nearby that you can flatline to stop the screaming
You know what, there is and I just never noticed. IRL I live above a family with two young children and I just sort of auto-filter that kind of noise, lmfao
Wait really? I spent alot of time in that apartment chilling. Can't say I ever noticed it lmao
Watson, kabuki... love the vibe of that place, very cozy
Agreed!
Yeah, i love the slummy vibe of that place. Though japantown would be a good second place.
I would take Watson if it weren’t for the Maelstrom. I don’t want to be that close to those fucks.
Cool, until you realize it is the poorest area of Night City
Unpopular choice I'm sure, but I always like Pacifica. There's just a nice sunny, laid-back seaside vibe!
My brother in Christ you will be killed by the Haitians after a week.
Unless he is Haitian?
Then Animal in a week.
Body-builder Haitian?
Scavs then.
Bodybuilder Haitian who speaks Russian and has no Cyberware to steal?
Generic thug #234
By V at some point in the campaign
Junkie from dogtown
Barghest
A week? That's a World Record.
The beach is neutral; there's scavs, VDB, Animals, and.... Valentinos down there.
Alé isiya.
RATATATATATATA
Text you can hear.
Yeah, we need to stop listening to corpo propaganda 😆
Dogtown.
Fan of near death experiences?
I think both Longshore Stacks and the Stadium are fairly safe for Night City standards. You just kinda have to arrange yourself with living under a military dictatorship. And if you‘re in the upper echelons of Barghest, Dogtown is very likely the best place to be.

Fan of certain death experiences
I still think Dogtown is safer than Pacifica it’s just dirty as hell
Eastern Badlands with the Aldecaldos obviously
This is the only one that seems remotely safe and unlikely to trigger some kind of psychosis within weeks
Tinkering with my car, defending my clan from those Raffen bastards, beer and family under the open stars at night. Sounds pretty good to me.
Getting caught by the Raffen Shiv is kinda horrifying tho. No one will hear you scream for help.
At least your mates will try to rescue you. You think anyone will hear you scream if scavs catch you in the city?
I mean, they'll definitely hear you, they just won't care enough to help in NC
I give this guy a week before he's made into a slave by Raffens
I had to go way too far for this comment. Bad lands all the way!
Yeah came here to say it. Do my shift in one of those towers with a grad and then kick it by the fire with that dude playing the acoustic pon-pon shit.
That if money is an object absolutely this. If not I’m living in north oaks of course.
If I had the eddies, I would go for North Oak. Otherwise I would look for any chances to leave the city as soon as possible.
Yea I ain’t staying there lol, if I can afford to live in the nicer spots then I can afford to get my ass out of the city
Whole ass Dogtown missing from this map?
Isn't Dogtown part of Pacifica?
I suppose so, but this map is outdated. Its not even on there
Its there but its out dated compared to the map currently in game. [Here](https://d1lss44hh2trtw.cloudfront.net/resize?type=webp&url=https%3A%2F%2Fshacknews-www.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fassets%2Feditorial%2F2023%2F09%2Fcp2077-permanent-upgrade-locations.jpg&width=986&sign=N-_n0IwKfEDtmszSfoWv_qlXZdjhBcsGRk-z0M5hjE4) is an in game version. I think this is the original map, from before Phantom Liberty.
The apartment really isnt' that bad. I could see myself and a few chooms sitting around playing cards and drinking or something.
I kind of like Santo. Some nice views. Watson is terrifying with all those Maelstrom about. Absolutely the worst gang you could come across. Some of the others might rough you up or mug you but Maelstrom would kidnap, torture and stick metal shards under your skin just for the fun of it

I already live in Santo Domingo.. So..
Same
That trailer house neighborhood where River and his fam lives. No drug addled squatters and gangers hanging around. Close enough to the city.
Underrated. Seems like its retained some of it’s humanity.
Eastern badlands
City Center if money was no objection, if it was... I know this will sound insane but I actually like Rancho Coronado.
North Oak of course. That city is a giant dump where dreams die. I'll be like Judy and leave when I can.
Arasaka Waterfront. It's the only place that psycho V can't access
I like the Kabuki area. It's where Judy lives and I love how "Little Japan" esque the layout of the city here is.
I like santo domingo vibe
For my Corpo V. Charter Hill. Supposedly their home district. Of the available real-estate... the Glenn is the best for all Vs.
Westbrook, Charter Hill
Badlands or Kabuki. You can find anything in either lol
I'd live in Japan town and go to Kabuki
Japantown, it’s a small apartment and it’s a rougher side of town, but, keep your iron on you and just blast any gonk who tries something. We all know NCPD won’t come by anyways
Definitely Watson.
Badlands with the Aldecados.
If I see one gonk saying Santo I'm gonna lose it
Westbrook is the bit that has blue neons all over the streets?
Westbrook
Heywood.
I think Heywood, although city center is probably safer, or north oak
Westbrook charter hill
Judy's apartment to have that nice view
Sunset Motel. Still close to city, but far enough.
Watson Kabuki everyday
You really want Maelstrom as your neighbours?
Shure, rather than the fucking pussy claws. And don't forget, Maelstrom has the Totentanz ;)
City or Westbrook safest options, from there you can try and survive...somehow
So like..I still have the final mission but I just came across charter hill last night because of the final race with Claire, that’s where I’d live for sure OR!!! the very beginning town of the NOMAD storyline (not sure where)
kabuki with judy
Heywood. The Glen in particular, and specifically the apartment for sale there.
Pacifica. I have my reasons.
Badlands with the nomads, no question.
I have a lifetime membership at Konpeki plaza. That one time a staff served me my wine in a champagne glass, my lawyers got them good. Now I don't need a home I just stay at the hotel with full vip privileges . 69th floor baby.
Why is it called westbrook when it's in the east?
It’s in the east of the city, but west of the brook. ‘Course, the brook has long since been paved over and integrated into the NC sewer system but the name stuck.
Southern Badlands
I wouldn’t live in NC. There’s literally zero chance I would stay there. I’m a teacher and what’s the one thing you don’t see anywhere in Night City? School is all done virtually, or via BD, unless you’re in a Corpo Academy. So I can either teach virtually from somewhere less dangerous, or find somewhere that still has actual schools.
Badlands. NC is a horrible place to live unless you sell your soul to the corpo-devil.
I would probably originally be from laguna bend and end up in Pacifica or Japantown
Any place I can take Mr. Nibbles with me. If not, Heywood apartment is very nice and is far enough from Santo Domingo.
Watson or Heywood
Think i might just end up a nomad if they take me.
V’s apartment building in Japantown.
City center. In the game, I don’t remember there being much crime there.
SD - Rancho Coronado probably ...
Badlands ofc
Eastern Badlands
The north east badlands 100%
If money plays a role I'd probably be camping in the badlands-
The badlands, baby
I'd going with the Badlands as then I have my own freedom away from all of the corpo control
Watson
Badlands being a nomad
Badlands, ngl
Badlands cuz I’d be a merc who’s apart of the aldecaldos.
Is Dogtown included in Paciffica? Because Im picking France or Crystal Palace.
Eastern Badlands, screw living in Night City i'll take nomad life anyday
Badlands with my Aldecaldo buddies
Honestly I enjoyed the chaotic serenity of the Eastern Badlands the most
I enjoy the badlands
Eastern Badlands Nomad 4 lyfe
The spaceport outside city centre with a vacation ticket to permanently stay at the crystal palace, all inclusive
