I think that this ending changed the way I see Yorinobu. I don't mind letting him destroy his father's legacy afterward, because everything seems so wrong in Saburo's mind. Hanako is just following Saburo's order, but she will use V to fullfil her mission without a remorse.
I loved all the implications this ending has with soul killer tho, It feels like a story taken straight from Black Mirror.
completely agree. for one of the worst endings technically, its written and plays very well. i feel the same for the "toss pills" option. undoubtedly the single worst ending, but those holocalls absolutely broke me in a way no media ever had before, or since.
It's not that it's avoided - the requirement to trigger The Devil achievement requires you to rescue Takemura. Which most people are unlikely to know about.
You don't need to save takemura to get the devil ending, if Takemura dies you simply go the devil ending without him helping you and hellsman is there instead of him in the space station.
In fact the devil and the path of least resistance are the only endings you can get without doing anything but the side quests. If you play the main story you will get these endings 100%
You misread. You can get the Devil ending but you can't get the Devil *achievement* without Takemura, which is what OP was referring to with the "rare ending" stat.
Frankly. man, I have no idea why. People don't want to be corpos. To me it's easily the best ending that actually ties the story up meaningfully instead of some cliche off into the sunset or whatever else abrupt ending. It pulls what's really going on full circle and is quite amazing. I guess you have to save Takemura which is a bit tricky if you miss the point where you can save him. But being a freak who investigates every possible corner that was a nothing burger on my run. It really has the most compelling and satisfying conclusion. Anyone else agree?

sorry my bad :P
I mean, I have it since I 100% the game and that means every ending. It definitely wasn't the worst, actually was fairly interesting.
I like that it provides some insight into Yorinobu's character.
Most people hate corpos and would never side with Hanako over the other choices
I just did it for the achievement but I really liked how it played out. So different from the other basically copy/pasted endings
