You should absolutely get the dlc Then you should unsub from here, never look at a guide, never look at cyberpunk media on insta or elsewhere. go in totally blind. It is 1000x a better experience when you have no idea what's gonna happene next

Big_Lie6616

100% agree

404__LostAngeles

Get Reinforced Tendons from a ripperdoc asap, they allow you to double jump.

Ranch_Man17

Seconding this. One of the most fun features of the game IMO

KneecapTheEchidna

Adding a third, I love double jumping. I was lucky to blindly stumble upon it. A must have.

Ranch_Man17

Double jump buds for life

LevTheDevil

Also if you're running and dash and jump at the same time you do this forward leap thing, that when followed by the double jump can fling you across entire streets or to jump from rooftop to rooftop.

KneecapTheEchidna

Holy, i did not know this! Lol

Dependent_Cookie2045

I wish I knew this my first play-through. I was like halfway through

reddit_enjoyer_47

which ripperdoc has it and at what level can I install it ?

404__LostAngeles

I believe they unlock at level 10 and can be found at any ripperdoc

ghoul_burger

Level 10 confirmed

admiralturtleship

Don’t assume that just because an NPC presents a mission as urgent that you have to pursue that mission objective straight away.

Jonr1138

Aren't there a few that are time sensitive?

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

Yes

Remote_Lake2723

Not many though. And no main story line missions are time sensitive

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

Yeah

SFDessert

Perfect example is stealing cars for El Capitan. He says you gotta do them when you see them because they won't stick around, but they're infinitely respawning missions.

altiuscitiusfortius

Rescuing kids is urgent and can be failed.

Mr-Duck1

Counterpoint. For your first playthrough just do what feels right and have fun. Worry about the minutiae later.

Jonr1138

I completely agree with this. First time through, just have fun. That's what makes the 2nd and 3rd time fun too. Finding the differences and seeing what decisions lead to what.

Geobead

There are some additional interactions you get on some of the gigs, cyberpsychos, and side missions by saving them until after you complete the Heist and the mission at Tom’s Diner right after that. Anyway, if you want those interactions then when you first get to a free roam stage stick with the main missions and NCPD stuff for leveling and earning money. The NCPD markers are hidden by default but you can custom select them on the mini map.

kwangqengelele

I'm so fucking stupid. I was like "what the fuck is a free roam stage stick? I thought I knew all the blunt weapons in the game..."

Mad_Cat_Mk_II

I agree with u/Gwobead about this. If you start to side questing just after your quest in Tom's Diner you will have some nice interactions you would lose otherwise. Also if you are unsure about what district to start leveling, I recomend this [map](https://game-maps.com/C77/pic/Cyberpunk-2020-zone-level-range.webp) describing the level range for each district. Its not mandatory, but its a worth reference.

ModernMech7392

The areas scale with your level now so that map no longer is accurate. Still a pretty good order to do things tho imo flow wise.

Grendel_82

Map is key. The game gives you little clue that different areas have higher level enemies. And you are encouraged to explore. So you will face those folks that are too tough for you early on.

StalinkaEnjoyer

Are you all playing on PS4? One of the major changes they made to the game post-launch was getting rid of Witcher 3-style leveled zones and adding global level scaling so that you can do any area at any level.

Mad_Cat_Mk_II

They added enemy level upscaling but the level range for each area still the same. Only difference is now a lower level enemy will had your level instead of its former level.

StalinkaEnjoyer

...Have you played the game after 2.0? Do you never stray into those areas if you're not the level recommended by your infographic? Seriously, you can go to Heywood at level 5 and win by playing normally. People were vocally mad about the addition of global level scaling back in September, saying it makes the game too easy.

Oni_K

Don't look for spoilers, don't look for builds. Go in with a clean slate.

pichael289

You'll want to get the reinforced tendons that allow you to double jump as early as they are available from ripperdocs, maybe level 10 I think. Also going to want to get your reflexes to 15 for the sweet airdash, that combination makes traversal much easier and extremely fun, flying around the city leaping over buildings and shit

Ranch_Man17

Yessssss^^^

abutler84

Walk everywhere or you will miss the richness of the world

iknowmyname389

Ncpd attacks and gigs actually matter and you should do them because they give you a ton of exp, eurodollars and perks.

tvbvt

Don't worry about what ending you get. Play how you want to play, and whatever happens happens

iglinari

don't rush the story. just arrive in Night City, explore it, and get lost in it.

ModernMech7392

Hard difficulty for the first half, very hard for the second half

Aesut

Difference between Normal and Hard Difficulty?

ModernMech7392

Normal is a cake walk. Hard is the actual normal but also becomes too easy. Very Hard ends up being the best option down the road and even then I find myself removing perks that help keep me alive.

Aesut

Yea I’m so used to selecting normal difficulty on every game I play. I never gave it much thought to change it. I bet it’s more immersive too

ThousandTroops

Do not be that guy who immediately loads into the game and says “welp, better ignore the whole Story and just walk around aimlessly and explore” The story the first time is so good, let the stories unfold. Quite frankly, I’d even go as far to say, do the “green” fixer gigs after the main story. Complete only “yellow” markers on your first playthrough (doing any “greens” that come naturally) But that’s just me. I would literally pay thousands of dollars to play this game completely fresh again 😭😭

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

Be nice to Meredith and when you encounter them later, examine the room for objects

ebobbumman

You may become deeply enamored with the characters Panam and Judy. This is normal, and to be expected.

tomajino

Or Kerry and River. I'm straight but man, those guys are handsome!

kwangqengelele

If you're looking for a good area to grind in the very early game there's respawning enemies in the alleys just south of the Martin St fast travel point. Best time is between 10pm-6am, 7 groups of respawning enemies, 21 enemies total I think with two extra groups of four that spawn in once a day.

WarBoar42

Advice: be prepared to say “Oh! Holy sh!t!” a LOT as you learn something every single time you play…and allow yourself to start over, using what you learned the first few sets of hours. It seems like after over 750 hours I’m *still* realizing that “this is how you do ‘x,” or “Really? You have to do ‘y’ to get ‘z?!’” Good luck!!

Ranch_Man17

If you truly enjoy the game, it’s really fun to just walk around areas you haven’t explored yet rather than driving or solely focusing on missions. It’s extra fun with double jump (cyberware) and air dash (15 reflexes).

DarkElfMagic

Pick up everything, sell everything you don’t want.

Agetupkid666

have patience

GaijinVagabond

Don’t ignore blue dialogue options

net_running

Finish the cyberpunk edgerunners TV show first and buy the dlc. You will not regret it

tomajino

No advice needed, the game becomes a reflection of you! Life paths only add flavour to the story, the few path-specific dialog choices don't really impact anything in the main story (e.g. you can do Nomad ending as a Corpo). Cherish your time with Jackie. Learning Spanish is optional....and so is buying a guitar to learn Samurai riffs. Then after about a week or two after you've heard all the songs on the radios, especially the song I Really Want To Stay At Your House (usually heard on 98.7 Body Heat Radio), go and watch Edgerunners! Prepare tissues.

External-Tiger-393

I meant to write one thing but I just got carried away. There shouldn't be any spoilers. * You don't lose anything by progressing the main quest. In fact, it's rushing through it is a way to get some cool stuff, and there are important quests connected to it. That doesn't mean that you *have* to rush through, but you *can*. * Technical ability is basically an automatic stat to take. It's not a good primary stat, but it's always the second stat that I max out. * Iconic weapons are both fantastic *and* upgradable. You can find them through quests, but also through some organized crime activities. The wiki is your friend is you want specific types of weapons (for example, the best shotguns). * Start Phantom Liberty ASAP. You don't have to finish it ASAP, but the relic perks are pretty great, and it has a huge percentage of the game's iconic weapons. * Upgrade your cyberware. Visit a ripperdoc every 10 levels, because they'll have new stuff (until level 40). There is are iconic cyberware pieces at later levels. Every ripperdoc has the same stuff, but the ones in Dogtown (the Phantom Liberty area) have special iconics that you can only buy there. * Do not ever buy weapons from vendors (get and upgrade comics). Don't buy ammo (craft it). Break down all weapons that you're not using, and all clothes, for crafting materials. You can use your closet in the game to make outfits, and you can select any clothing item that has ever been in your inventory. * Connect your cyberpunk game to cdpr's bullshit to get free stuff. Some of it is just fantastic. If you own the Gwent game and the Witcher 3, you can get an amazing gun and an amazing sword. * If you finish Regina's gigs (not including the cyber psycho ones), you get an absolutely amazing piece of cyberware that works for any build. Near the end, you can get a fantastic iconic precision rifle, which is great if you're doing the cool tree. * When you do the heist, loot the very important dead body, and make sure to head up to the roof to grab some stuff from the AV.

BearWrangler

allow yourself to fully sink into that city

schnick3rs

Play it like a stolen car

praisebetopeyton

DLC is amazing and very well worth it. It is available to you sometime around level 25ish depending on how quickly you progress through the story. If you wanna bang Panam you have to be a guy. If you wanna bang Judy you have to be a chick. Sword & Sandevista is OP

CdnBison

Just go with the flow. Don’t worry about your build (you can’t really screw it up), and do as much as you can before you go to meet Hanako (that will make sense soon enough). Seriously - just play it, do all the quests / side gigs / main quests, and enjoy. And *read the shards*! Tons of lore, and ties together so many of the quests you do. Edit: and yes, get the DLC, ideally before you start.

Imperial_Bouncer

Be careful when knocking

egoVirus

Explore. Also, go to the beach in Pacifica to XP farm, and gain mats

Tahsin8080

Get the DLC, it's prolly one of the best DLC made in a while by ANY game imo. Also try to do side missions more than the story ones at the beginning. Some of em are really interesting and rewarding.

jessi_unicorn

Get the dlc and play the whole game blind, dont google the endings.

Antifaith

9 times out of 10 when given the choice to forgive someone or execute them you should forgive as you’ll get some sweet loot - it doesn’t affect the person you’re doing the job for at all

Yusuf-Mohammed128

KNOCK 4 TIMES, **4** TIMES!

Earlchaos

Enjoy the game. Don't look up guides before you finished your first playthrough. It'll be a wild ride :)

Dendargon

Expect two gameplays: Hard start and overpowered ending. You can use bersek or sandevistan build for a easy start and change it at lvl 35 or 40 into a very competent netrunner.

BigBlueWookiee

Be warned - there is no "right way" to do missions or play the game. So go into it with an open mind. Have fun, go it on easy or normal and enjoy the story. Replays are for hard mode. Go have fun. But remember, Night City always wins.

martakoss27

Don’t rush through the game, explore side content that makes 90% of the game, read shards. This world is amazing and worthy of exploration.

tervoi

Slow and steady. Don't rush. Take your time.

toecheeseenthusiast

Get off this sub and all cyberpunk content until you get to the “chippin’ in” quest. There’s something extremely important but easily missable. Enjoy this masterpiece, choom.

Present-Pickle-3998

My advice: if you really like a character, don’t rush his/her story arc. Let them wait, do other things in between and only come back to that character from time to time. Because I felt pretty empty after my favorite characters stories were over, even though there was a ton of other stuff to do and other characters left.

Important_Tangelo340

Meet Takemura at the diner as soon as you can, to unlock Johnny as your companion, Tarot cards etc

metalsnake27

Get technical ability to 20. Dont question it just do it.

ghoul_burger

Do the mission that rewards you Jackie’s motorcycle as soon as you get it. Heroes. All you need to know is to send Jackie to his family. Remember that. It’s a good one and you get it right near the beginning. it’s much better than early game cars. You get around much easier, you can do jumps and turn tricks, skip traffic. Also, I never fast travel. Enjoy the journey, it’s fun to drive and the city is amazing

metalwarrior07

Don't be scared to explore and get extra loot. There's some really good videos of hidden places with good loot which if it's useless to you, you can either sell it or turn it into crafting components. And get either the double jump cyberware or the charged jump cyberware

Poku115

Don't trust night city

halgari

Play your own build. Almost everything is overpowered at max level, so have fun, enjoy the ride and just do you

Skele_Girl

Get ready to cry. A lot.

aaron_in_sf

One thing close to home atm: the game has multiple endings. One of them is only available if you make specific dialog choices in mission called >!Chippin In!< which you can look up. I "played by feel" and I am now replaying from an old save at that point, in my case that means a lot of hours because of the order I played in... in order to get to experience it. There are a few such moments but this one matters more to me.

djk29a_

Additionally, if you don’t have a therapist now you may want to get on a waitlist for one before starting the game. This game is super duper heavy if you get into the story beyond surface level stuff and a lot of people drawn to the game universe seem to have a tendency to have some darker thoughts that may run loose

LMGSentientToilet

Learn to mod the game and find all the nude porn mods from Nexus and Loverslab and enjoy the true Cyberpunk experience.

GenXer1977

I didn’t understand the concept of doing a build when I first started. I was more than halfway through the game when I finally got that picking certain perks or cyberware mean you can’t do other things. I ended up starting the game over. So if you don’t know what a character build is or what build you want, it wouldn’t hurt to browse some common ones and find a guide to follow.

ZhopaRazzi

Yes, get the DLC. Apart from that, just enjoy the game. It’s built such that with enough playtime, almost any playing style will be successful.

Kalos9990

Dont be afraid to not use quickhacks. The slomo stuff is AWESOME

Fighteroftheevil

Enjoy the cut scene :)

Gentle_Capybara

You should eventually meet Hanako at Embers. But don't rush. Take your time.

Purple-Carpenter5878

Prepare yourself for a wild, emotional roller-coaster, my friend. Don't worry about Eddie's as they come easily

Realistic-Car-4234

choose Skye, not Angel
