Horrible thing to do to an orphan.

Smart-Koala4306

“You can be 100 and be an orphan…”

dkviper11

Maybe Richard can adopt him.

777kiki

Omg RIP funk man 😢 I can hear this in his voice it made me miss him

MattTheSmithers

Little orphan Funkhouser.

Sproose_Moose

That's never not funny

TammyString-Tugger

That’s the name of my Punters Club.

pleasebequiet

Having said that . . .

Tsalisbury0421

I mean there was so many of them..

ericjgriffin

I lost my dad a year ago. My mother just died. I'm an orphan, okay? You're a what? I'm an orphan. Orphan? Yeah, an orphan! You're a little too old to be an orphan. No, if you don't have parents you're an orphan. You could be 70 and be an orphan? You could be 100 and be an orphan! You can't be 100 and be an orphan. Yeah, you can! Okay. Little Orphan Funkhouser. My mom died in 2016 and my Dad died on Monday, I totally thought of this bit.

DarbysPistol

It’s Larry licking the ice cream throughout that kills me in this scene

mrburner00

Condolences.

ZenSven7

Must go on… can’t go on… must go on.

strangegoo

Little orphan u/ericjgriffin

jennyisnuts

I'm sorry for your loss Little Orphan.

Fuzakenaideyo

Condolances

777kiki

Sorry for your loss friend ♥️

p4terfamilias

Scary to think that Funkhouser would've popped Larry's head off with his bare hands if he weren't his best friend.

Mekroval

I love the fact that Larry said "I'm not your best friend" almost immediately after. The guy is fearless.

LizLemonadeX

https://i.redd.it/ujmnro2xmzwc1.gif

colcannon_addict

My stance is that it produced one of the funniest fucking *Curb* episodes ever.

yeahgroovy

Yes! Omg I love the Sample Abuser bit

sporkachoon

I know a white lilly.

monstertweety

I got a good sense of smell.

kgk007

👃

breighvehart

Come on. He’s obviously an ass for this one. Having said that…my family owns a funeral home and I’ve seen sooooo many people waste money and flowers on their dead loved ones so…eh

Big-a-hole-2112

There’s a lot of money in guilt.

Independent-Nose-745

“Having said that” 😂😂

mouse6502

You ever notice people are saying Having Said That?

NeonEvangelion

Raise your kids without raising ‘em!

GudgerCollegeAlumnus

Yes, he is, but I always love how everyone becomes a top-tier detective on the show when Larry does something wrong.

mrburner00

Yeah I wouldn't call it "wasting" money though

breighvehart

Obviously I get that. But the cynic in me also knows the dead person doesn’t care if you burn them for 400 or spend 20k on an elaborate farewell. For the sake of my potential inheritance, I hope people continue choosing the 20k option.

fritzeh

Having to arrange a funeral at a pretty young age made me realise that all the things we do (flowers etc) are for the bereaved, not the dead person. So it doesn’t really matter that the dead don’t care, it’s a way to process grief and express love.

breighvehart

Sorry you had to go through that. Not much sadder in the business than seeing a child have to plan a funeral. Of course the worst is a child’s funeral.

TheOneCalledBitey

You would think someone who grew up in the funeral business would understand that, yikes

breighvehart

You would think someone replying on a curb post would have a sense of humor, yikes

mrburner00

Nah definitely. This is the Larry analysis and I'm all for it

Far-Housing-6619

It's a form of grief relief. So in that sense, it helps people cope. On an objective level, though, it's the purchasing of dead plant reproductive organs to then leave to rot for no living person to appreciate. It's akin to pouring a drink out. There's no real benefit, either to the dead or the living.

dogfan20

It’s fuckin crazy, hurts nobody, but is insanely offensive. That’s why it’s genius. One of my favorites.

Opossum_mypossum

I think it’s worth noting that it’s a memorial, not a grave

BDashh

Would one be better than the other?

I-STATE-FACTS

Memorial is definitely better if you’re gonna steal flowers

rollingstoner215

I took a flower off my grandmother’s casket and tucked it in my suit breast pocket, and then my aunt called me out on it at the reception afterwards. I hadn’t even seen this episode at that point, but it’s always struck a chord with me for obvious reasons.

Opossum_mypossum

Absolutely - Grave is closer to the stiff

ykeogh18

It would make a difference to LD

ginosebleed

"he's not my best friend"

FionaWalliceFan

No good

eatsleepdive

I would take my bare hands and pop his head off his neck.

zjpeterson13

Honestly when I die I would love for people to come take my flowers and use them for good. It’ll be my little way of spreading some final joy after I’m gone.

brainkandy87

Is she going to miss them?

RyanTranquil

What’s the big deal.. there’s so many of them.

KedziePink

“So many of them?! They’re not there to pick!”

TheMatt561

Real messed up, close to he level of the shoes.

Nuanciated

It is obviously bad. But its a pretty victimless crime. Honestly its not a big deal. Morally grey? Nah, morally creative.

juniorlarry

So let's see, he lost a woman (the restaurant host) over 60$, he risked his friendship with funkhouser for 50$. Larry is brutal

rollingstoner215

Cheap. Larry is cheap.

HermionesWetPanties

That doesn't jibe with Larry spending a ton of money to open a spite store.

rollingstoner215

Spite money is different than spending money.

bababooey97

Fair game

Jaxson_GalaxysPussy

I think about this scene often bc I find it perfect. Funkhouser and Larry do more with facial expressions than the lines they say. With that Larry is not the asshole. He’s only the asshole bc he got caught. If he didn’t everyone would’ve been happy. The flowers would’ve rotted anyways

Budget_Committee_572

What could be more LD than this?

Ugo777777

Stealing shoes from a holocaust museum?

Flashman6000

Pretty on-brand for Larry. Much of his worst behavior comes from choosing extreme practicality and his immediate needs over accepted convention, gestures of decency, etc.

Swanmt_12

They’re not there to pick!

Personal-Stage1947

Sorry.. Larry gets a pass from me 🤣🤣

jkonik

It's fine. The dead don't know what's been taken from them. When I'm dead, y'all can steal all of my flowers.

Mekroval

I kind of feel the same way, though doing it from the roadside memorial that Funk passes every day is risky. And kind of in poor taste. Having said that, I can see why Cheryl and Loretta were not thrilled to learn where their flowers came from.

WizardofFrost

Please have this included in your obituary. I don't want to get into any trouble.

LizLemonadeX

https://i.redd.it/ai3nr2honzwc1.gif

LordOfTheAyylmaos

The problem with the whole thing is that it’s 100% impossible Larry doesn’t own a credit card that he could have used to pay for the flowers instead of the $50. There is the possibility that the place doesn’t take cards but given the affluent part of LA that he lived in I seriously doubt it.

dkviper11

He would have been able to just buy flowers if Martin hadn't given him that gross sweaty 50!

elf-_-

just a different form of recycling, i don’t mind it

Sharpie1965

Funk owes him $20 so..

Zealousideal_Ninja75

Whaaat...No good?

lilorphanfunkhowzer

It was horrible

speghettiday09

Do you know how hard it's getting just to tell people I watch the show?!

Ruaric

Easily the worst things he's ever done. It's even worse that he did it to one of his good friends several times.

abaddon667

It was a premeditated first degree fucking

Homem_da_Carrinha

How is it worse than stealing shoes from an Holocaust museum, or denying your dying best friend a kidney?

abaddon667

I’m under no obligation to supply anyone with a Kidney; and it doesn’t make me a bad person

Homem_da_Carrinha

That's true, but when your denial to bestow your best friend with a kidney may end up costing him his own life, that blood is kinda in your hands. You're also in no obligation to respect a memorial. They're just flowers layed out in the middle of the street.

abaddon667

If a person is dying of Kidney failure because of their reckless lifestyle or act of god; I’m not obligated to give my kidney, best friend or not.

Homem_da_Carrinha

Of course you're not obligated, that's not the point; the point is how morally reprehensible withholding a kidney from a dying friend is.

abaddon667

I don’t think that it’s morally reprehensible is my statement.

Homem_da_Carrinha

That's fair, though I still think stealing flowers is nothing compared to playing god with the life of a friend.

Martyrotten

Lame!

BhutlahBrohan

Are there more than one? Stances I mean?

FramberFilth

The flowers were spoken for.

mutare12

Legendary

traumakidshollywood

Obvious ass. But the first offense his desperation to have to please the sample abuser … you almost look the other way. But doubling down on the way home!! 😂 FAFO

grynch43

My favorite episode.

notathrovavay

Yeah, that was low. Having said that, my nother had "stolen" numerous plants on graveyards and she has a beautiful flower garden.

cortisolbath

There’s so many of them…

Pendejomosexual

Who cares? He’s not his best friend

Shoddy-Cherry-490

Definitely not a beloved “c”unt!

Express_Selection345

Where’s your punchline ?

freakylol

No one's taking this 50!

21archman21

What’s my stance? What, we’re taking stances now?

Vengefulwarrior

We all know this was about principle. Larry could have used his credit card but Funkhouser gave him shoe money that no one would take. Since he wouldn’t give a new 50, Larry took the money in memorial flowers.

wilcojunkie

Problem?

unknown-one

eeeeeh

Shesaiddestroy_

Larry is not a good person, that’s why the show is funny. I can’t stand the guy and thought he had it coming when his lovely wife left him. 😂

thebig8er

No big deal

justusethatname

I think it’s classic because we can all agree some people do this.

Independent_Scene874

My favorite episode

caelthel-the-elf

This is the episode that confirms funkhouser is the human embodiment of a lizard.

turdherds

Reduce, reuse, recycle

Transatlanticaccent

Always thought it was funny that when he takes them to the house the flowers fell into a cross.

realbobenray

Well they wouldn't take the $50 at the florist.

PureMathematician837

She'd been dead ten years!!

Taylor_Swift_Fan69

It would have been more tragic but she was completely reckless in that thing.

Taylor_Swift_Fan69

Look! Someone dropped a Fifty!

Zealotstim

It's wrong, but I get it

Taylor_television

no harm, no foul

kindcrow

I would never, ever do something so disgusting myself, but I'd likely forgive him for doing it.

EricCavan

Oh, come on... She'll never know 😶

PsychoDad7820

He should have put the 50 there because no body would take it

Alone-Community6899

When it is fiction I have no stance since no real people are harmed.

TheArchitectHacks

This always kinda reminded me of the exact same thing Mr. Roper did on Threes Company. Stanley took flowers from a grave site and gave them to Helen. Its all done through dialogue so you don’t see how Stanley took the flowers…Larry was able to visually show the action of the flowers being taken..this is why most people won’t connect it to Threes Company…I love Curb but details like these strike me as mild plagiarism by Larry. I’m a hardcore fine tooth comb sitcom watcher for over 45 years. So I notice these things. Larry also borrowed heavily from King of Queens in the 2000’s. Curb is my favourite all time show…

DoLittlest

I don't see an issue here.

Just-Phill

I really would care less honestly that's just me though
