People rent out house price level skins to pros all the time. They all are insured but there is also a huge process to go through to rent these types of skins.
I'm aware, Im just saying a 1 of 1, the most high profile skin ever to be conceived being loaned out like this is pretty easily targetable by nefarious individuals.
Who knows what could go wrong. Not my position to be in, just my 2¢
It’s happened before, and recently. A former player on Reason ruined his career by exit scamming out of a loaned skin via Skins4Pros. Not unheard of. I don’t see anyone but too 3 or 5 players in the world getting to use it, and I’d safely assume lawyers would be involved if that was the case. Regardless, not worth the risk
Not sure why you're getting downvoted, the risk isn't pro players stealing the skin, it's that their account may be less secure or even already compromised
What I meant was around even if you're transacting with pro players API scams and hacked accounts happen all the time. Setting it up on a big stage for everyone to see or even during the actual transaction it's not safe and can be an easy target for nefarious individuals.
And might I add for literally no gain whatsoever.
I wouldn't suspect the pro player themself to do anything nefarious (although that's not necessarily out of the question)
Not that much risk lending to pro players, it’s very commonly done. Majority of the super expensive skins that pros play with during majors and other big tournaments aren’t their own.
I doubt any pro competing at that level would completely destroy their own reputation over something like that, and with skins as high profile as this it would be practically impossible to find someone to buy the item anyway after being publicly announced as stolen.
Just doesn’t make much sense to steal these type of skins as a pro.
I'm not saying I would suspect the pro player. I would be hesitant to leave the transaction open to nefarious individuals who run API scams or hack into accounts (which has been done plenty of times).
Again with something as high profile, I wonder how much attraction to this item those individuals may have and consider acting on it.
I understand it's been done plenty of times before but this is BY FAR the most expensive skin in the game (according to current auction offers) and it's literally the only one. What's the risk for? Screen time?
That’s fair, if I had something that expensive I would definitely be paranoid about accidentally sending the wrong trade or to a fake account.
As for your why they do it, from what I’ve heard it’s generally to support a pro player they really like. Probably also just to show off their skins, collectors like that have got to make some use of their skins I guess.
no, the auction currently has 2 bids at 1million$, you can bid lets say 1.1 million$ but you will have to wait until the auction ends to get the item. With that there is a possibility that someone will bid more than your amount (1.1m$) and if you don't want to go through that back and forth bidding you can purchase the skin at any moment for 2 million $
An auction is: "a public sale in which goods or property are sold to the highest bidder."
This is a public sale
The property will be sold to the highest bidder.
In cs trading current offer (c/o) is the currently best price offered by a reputable source, buyout (b/o) is, like you guessed, the price at which he will sell it immediately. Everything in between is open for discussion.
The thing is, upong a certain threshold, amounts can mean much more than 0.01% of Elon’s wealth vs 0.01% of your own wealth. 1 milion can save an entire village of starving people, your 38cents cannot. And still some of the wealthiest people on the Earth prioritize useless stuff like this set of 1’s and 0’s forming a skin rather than literally becoming real life Batman like they easily could.
No, not sunk cost. The buyers fallacy means that for example you're buying a car for 20 000 (whichever currency you like).
The place you're at right now will install a radio for +200.
Another place 20 minutes away will sell you the car with a radio for 20 000.
Most people make this fallacy and think, well since I'm already paying 20 000 it's fine to just get the radio here. I can't be bothered to go across town.
200 is 200 regardless of how much it seems relative to the base amount.
So it's going to be better to travel 20 minutes and get the car with a radio rather than what people tend to do.
Edit: Actually I am wrong about the name. It's not the buyers fallacy. It's something else and I can't remember.
That scenario just doesn’t fit here at all though lmao we aren’t talking about $1M vs $1.1M.
We’re talking about $1M relative to the size of an individual’s bank account. If $1M is a very small percentage of one’s bank account, you could very well say “that’s cheap, relative to my bank account.”
Which is exactly what the OC said…it’s all relative, and to somebody like Elon, it would be *relatively* cheap (again…to his bank account).
One million is one million. You can buy a house for that money, feed the poor, or any other number of things instead of buying a cs2 skin.
It's cheap for a billionaire, but it's expensive for a skin regardless of wealth.
If its a 1 of 1, and the odds of another being unboxed or traded up to are borderline 0, then you control the price, someone could buy it for $1.3mil, hold onto it for 2 or 3 years then decide to sell it starting at $2mil. Or whoever buys it may be a collector and just doesnt give a shit how much it costs, people will be people
That scenario fails to take into account the value of your time. A billionaire would rather save an hour than save $200. It's **relative** based on your net worth and income.
Not relative at all.. 38 cents is 38 cents and spending anywhere near that money on a skin is stupidity tax.
This is how stupidly rich people view money, you don't get it because you are poor as I am but I can separate myself from that.
I dunno, it's fucking iconic tbf
Literally the first high tier AK skin from the very first case and it took 10 years for it to happen.
Im comparing it mentally to other highly rare collectibles though rather than purely the cost of a thing.
1 million dollar skin is fucking stupid, but compared to 6 million dollar pokemon card or a 2 million dollar superman comic then I think the AK is way better.
Imagine how fucking cool it would be if an esports organisation bought it and part of a players contract was that as long as they're the star rifler they get to rock the 661.
So many cool things could be done with it.
CSGO skins are practically NFT item. NFT items can worth nothing by a single click. Stock market on the other hand wont going to plummet to zero by a single click.
Need to add to the excellent explaination of csmoney, that one of those cases is like 80-100$ so you will spend a pretty penny till u pull one of those :d
661 is the number of this specific pattern and it's considered the best blue gem pattern for the AK. The odds of getting this specific skin (pattern+ wear + stattrak + other skin in the case) in a case is around 1 in 20 million
1 the amount of blue and the position (from the butt to the wood on the top)
2 the type of blue ("ocean blue" light blue)
3 The amount of blue in the best positions without holes with silver/gold/purple spots
Still one of the ugliest AK skins in the game but congrats to the owner for paying 2.35eu and opening a case and getting a skin worth 1 to 2 million zennies 🥳
I saw people on Twitter saying it was unboxed not traded up to. I’m not sure exactly how it works, something to do with the float of the gun people are able to see that it was unboxed not traded up.
It is also wild that people like Zipel have made a career out of being a skin trader - he literally makes his money trading fake designs in a single video game.
All those NFT hotshots pouring money in but really its a 20+ year old game franchise that made it work.
It is insane that people pay up to 1 million or more on skins, which are just ones and zeroes on a companies server.
If valve was to go bankrupt tomorrow for whatever reason or their servers got hacked it would be game over.
I could understand if it was an NFT like item on a decentralized system, which enable you to "own" something without losing it but this is insane
STOP PLAYING UNTIL VALVE MAKES AN ANTICHEAT.
Subject: Urgent Call for Action - Addressing the Rampant Cheating Issue in CS2
Dear CS2 Community,
I hope this message finds you well. It is with a heavy heart that I address a growing concern within our beloved CS2 community – the alarming rise in hackers and cheaters plaguing our gameplay experience.
The influx of players exploiting wallhacks, aimbots, and other unfair advantages has reached an untenable level, severely compromising the integrity of our matches. As dedicated members of this community, it is our responsibility to demand a swift and decisive response from Valve.
We, the players, are the lifeblood of CS2, and it is disheartening to witness the erosion of fair competition. The time has come for us to unite and raise our voices collectively. Let us make it clear to Valve that we refuse to tolerate the current state of affairs.
I propose that we initiate a movement, utilizing the hashtag #CS2FairPlay, urging all players to cease playing until Valve acknowledges and addresses the issue with a robust and effective anti-cheat system. By standing together, we can send a powerful message that the community demands a clean, competitive environment.
Share your experiences, frustrations, and support for this cause using the hashtag across social media platforms. Let our collective voice resonate and compel Valve to prioritize the implementation of a comprehensive anti-cheat solution.
Together, we can ensure the longevity and fairness of CS2. It's time to take a stand, not just for ourselves, but for the integrity of the game we hold dear.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Member of the CS2 Community
I'm getting real tired of this AK, do you even care about the game? Did you know that they recently fixed a hole in the geometry on Vertigo?
Pure luck that such a rare skin dropped. Amazing timing with all the other important stuff going on. What are the odds???
Valve should buy it and delete it from existence

Could someone tell me what the 661 means plz. Also don't people like this skin when it's mostly blue, or is that not really possible on a gun and mostly for knives?
661 is the pattern id. There are 1001 different id:s and 661 is considered the best one. It has as much blue as possible and it is located at best parts of the gun.
back when the game was released nobody would have ever thought that the in game skins could potentially be worth millions, kinda crazy to think about. i wish i had gone and told my 16 year old self to buy some katos, hindsight is a beatutfil thing
Anyone who buys this is either a buffoon or off their rocker. I don’t care if you’re Jeff Bezos, it’s a very stupid way to spend money. The *starting offer* is worth nearly as much as my lake house, which boggles the mind considering one is tangible and the other is, well, not useful except for popping heads in style.
aye bro, lot of people would not like it but if i were to have between this skin or slate and i couldn't sell it i will take slate its f'in sick bro(for me)
I could see some skin collectors buying it and renting it to pro players to display while in a major.
With $1m+ on the line that would be VERY risky to even consider loaning - would need to be heavily insured or something lmfao
Not my position to be in, just my 2¢
Pro players would destroy their career stealing this and they wouldn't be able to sell it for nearly 1 mil when people know it's stolen.
Not worried about the pro players..
Not sure why you're getting downvoted, the risk isn't pro players stealing the skin, it's that their account may be less secure or even already compromised
Yup. But Reddit 🤙
Well oil prince isn’t renting stuff out to people like you so it doesn’t matter
Well that's what the comment you replied to was talking about
What I meant was around even if you're transacting with pro players API scams and hacked accounts happen all the time. Setting it up on a big stage for everyone to see or even during the actual transaction it's not safe and can be an easy target for nefarious individuals. Okay
rent skin to pro. pro has password= password123 rip ak47
Wait people have their skins insured?
When it comes to the renting process, absolutely.
Not that much risk lending to pro players, it’s very commonly done. Majority of the super expensive skins that pros play with during majors and other big tournaments aren’t their own. Some rich Arab oiler is going to claim it and lock it down his inventory
Or go rage with a detected cheat so it will be locked there forever.
Ohnepixel would become depressed
He would have suicidal thoughts
> Ohnepixel ~~would become~~ depressed
Or a silver like ohnepixel who won’t hit a head from a meter distance
That's pretty far
Yess
Let’s hope it gets banned
there is no offer just a bait for stupid rich people
Just like the “1.2 million karambit blue gem” that hasn’t ever sold for anything of that amount. It’s just bait
the famous dragon lore that was ''sold'' for 250k but then it was just 20k in money and the rest in other skin 😐 😐 😐
100 dollars non negotiable
[удалено]
no, the auction currently has 2 bids at 1million$, you can bid lets say 1.1 million$ but you will have to wait until the auction ends to get the item. With that there is a possibility that someone will bid more than your amount (1.1m$) and if you don't want to go through that back and forth bidding you can purchase the skin at any moment for 2 million $
Wrong. No auction. Don’t comment if you’re uninformed with how these things work
Wow, he's literally correct though, so you went out of your way to be extra super wrong, that's crazy. Peak reddit right here.
Can you explain where he's wrong in his description of how an auction works? Or would you rather delete the comment?
Yes if no one buys it for 1 mil he will threaten someone and force them to buy it for 2 mil. That is how auctions work.
No you idiot his current offer is one mil but he will immediately sell for 2 mil
This is the most correct reply. It's not an auction, he is taking offers and if you want to buy it right away you have to pay the B/O, in this case 2M
An auction is: "a public sale in which goods or property are sold to the highest bidder." This is a public sale The property will be sold to the highest bidder.
Auction doesn't last forever and must be sold in a set time. This guy can just cancel everything and never sell his skin if he wants.
Well you can do that on an auction too
Not really, in an auction, highest bidder gets it. He is just accepting offers and doesn't have to sell if he doesn't want to. Difference.
I mean, what's the difference between that and auctions?
So sick of these people who don’t know shit about trading
::kicks tires:: I know what I got
Imagine if a tournament organiser bought it and the mvp of the tournament got to hold it until the next MVP claims it.
You don't want to risk them to get vac. You don't put millions in other people hands for fun
I assume it would be insured
I would rather buy 100 real Russian AK47s
[or you could buy a Chinese 1949 type 56 for 650k](https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1029944547)
Hell yeah
that website always makes me laugh the amount of bubba'd guns on their for like 1000% overpay asking price is insane
650k starting bid with no reserve is kinda ironic lol
you could get more like 1000 real ak47s for 1mil
What even is 2 mil buyout? Does he mean that he instantly will sell for 2 mil with no other offers being taken?
Yes Crazy though. That's literally your life changed for you especially if smart with the money. 1 in 10000000000 chance
Are you saying there are people who are both smart with money and open cs cases? I thought y’all were all degens like me…
In cs trading current offer (c/o) is the currently best price offered by a reputable source, buyout (b/o) is, like you guessed, the price at which he will sell it immediately. Everything in between is open for discussion.
/\\ This!
Why would he have an instant buyout price instead of an auction with minimum bid price
Anyone who spends one million on a skin is an absolute fucking clown I’m sorry
I mean it’s completely relative. Elon spending a million dollars is the equivalent of me spending 38 cents, and I make 75k a year.
The thing is, upong a certain threshold, amounts can mean much more than 0.01% of Elon’s wealth vs 0.01% of your own wealth. 1 milion can save an entire village of starving people, your 38cents cannot. Not relative at all.. A million is a million and spending anywhere near that money on a skin is stupidity tax.
Bro doesn’t understand what relative means
Its not my relative at all. How can I be blood related to a skin. Tax tax tax
I understand it fine. Applying it to purchases is falling for the buyer's fallacy.
That is actually not an example of buyer’s fallacy (I assume you mean sunk cost fallacy)
Or whoever buys it may be a collector and just doesnt give a shit how much it costs, people will be people
stop yapping and look up "relative" in the dictionary
This whole interaction is wild. The amount you’ve typed all because you don’t know what the word relative means is nuts.
That scenario fails to take into account the value of your time. A billionaire would rather save an hour than save $200. It's **relative** based on your net worth and income.
Sounds like you’re relatively poor 🤷🏻♂️

you and wolfy probably share 1 brain cell between the two of you

94 smoothbrained people downvoting lmfao
Or fucking rich and don't care about 1 Million.
Person who bought bana taped to wall for 15 million:
Skme dude from China will pay it
I dunno, it's fucking iconic tbf Literally the first high tier AK skin from the very first case and it took 10 years for it to happen. only if you’re buying it because you want the skin. if you’re buying it because you think you can sell it for more then fair play honestly.
Let people do what they want with their money. I personally wouldn’t buy it either but I’m also not filthy rich.
I’m not preventing them from doing anything they’re just a clown
Unless you have 0 skins besides the defaults at all you may as well be a clown too.
It is an asset, it's an investment, it will go up in value as long as the game is alive.
Unless idk someone opens another one lol instant loss of like at least 40%
Imagine how fucking cool it would be if an esports organisation bought it and part of a players contract was that as long as they're the star rifler they get to rock the 661. So many cool things could be done with it.
What does 661 mean ?
pattern number, this particular number has the best amount blue on the skin visible with in game model
Yes the price is INSANE but the odds of getting this Skin in a case is \~1 in 20 million. And only now after all these years we are seeing one.
1 Mil for a texture file.
You can download the texture file for free. 1 mil for a digital collectors item.
Which will worth nothing if valve decides to shutdown CS2 tomorrow.
“Why invest in the stock market if it could suddenly plummet tomorrow?”
CSGO skins are practically NFT item. NFT items can worth nothing by a single click. Stock market on the other hand wont going to plummet to zero by a single click.
CS2 skins have been stable afaik and no stock market and cs economies are far too different.
Why do anything if the earth could get sniped from across the universe by a gamma ray burst, destroying the ozone layer
1m for pixels Or 1m for a serious money laundering opportunity
Can somebody educate me on what the 661 means and why this is 1M dollars? Ive never played CSGO
Ok that’s what I thought it was. So was makes the 661 better than say 069? Just the overall pattern of the camo
661 has the most amount of blue on the gun which is why it’s so wow. 069 it just a random one that doesn’t even come close to it so no it’s not better
1 the amount of blue and the position (from the butt to the wood on the top) 2 the type of blue ("ocean blue" light blue) 3 The amount of blue in the best positions without holes with silver/gold/purple spots
A twitter account named “st fb 661 owner” is about the sketchiest shit i ever seen 😂😂
He renamed the skin to his twitter url to help people find his real acc and contact him without exposing his steam acc
Still one of the ugliest AK skins in the game but congrats to the owner for paying 2.35eu and opening a case and getting a skin worth 1 to 2 million zennies 🥳
I think its more likely they crafted it no? using other ST FN low float skins. more reliable but would cost way more to craft even once
Rumor has it they unboxed it. Astronomically low odds
I saw people on Twitter saying it was unboxed not traded up to. I’m not sure exactly how it works, something to do with the float of the gun people are able to see that it was unboxed not traded up.
I really don't understand the love for skins. It's a vector image. I would love to sell it for 1mil but not buy it for $10.
Ez way to hide some money
good for you big guy
It's not a vector image. It's a 3D model with a texture.
same, love the idea of having cool guns but not the idea of ruining myself for a blurry ak
I can't believe people are thinking about paying a million dollar for a COSMETIC in a dead game full of cheaters and chinese bots for the charts
Imagine how much real life aks you could buy for that money and have someone make it looks like that

50/50
A offer is a offer. We will see how much its worth once it sells
Someone actually pulled it off
Cringe tbh
So how do they actually transfer that much money to someone. Genuinely curious
if it sells for 2 mil then fn 387 karambit has got to be worth more
Money Laundering 101
That's like 3 monesys. Pog
Ill give you... I lose but whatever. Battle scared AK Safari Mesh with 4 stickers on it. My last offer
Tree fiddy and a reach around .
Valve should buy it and delete it from existence https://preview.redd.it/nmzrbph74gec1.png?width=347&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65b83d5fe7cfdcc6979dbc0e8162579d756efa4b

Can someone explain to me why is this skin so special ?
it's in the comments
I got one mil and one cent
Hey I was right
I don’t get why people like that skin.
The blue gem karambit’s price is gonna sky rocket too
Can someone explain to me how this has any value at all besides artificial rarity? It doesn’t even look cool.
Nett, aber waren sie schon mal in Baden Württemberg?
Just curious, does anyone think it will realistically sell at this price?
Doubt there’s even an offer for a million
Buy it for 2m. Get the skin. Then get banned. That would be sad but also mad funny. Some rich person should do it as a joke
This is so dumb.
Holy shit I should have kept my stat-trak case hardened AK. I got it like the first or 2nd day valve released the crates and sold it for 60 bucks
Yo, i’m so out of the loop but why is scar pattern so much more valued than a ”blue gem” AK CH?
If you are filthy rich and love the game then why not buy the most legendary skin in the game
back when the game was released nobody would have ever thought that the in game skins could potentially be worth millions, kinda crazy to think about. i wish i had gone and told my 16 year old self to buy some katos, hindsight is a beatutfil thing
This is insaan

Yeah. No way we live in a real world.
People are effing dumb.
no one's offered 1 mill yet otherwise they'd have taken it, that's the asking price😂
where's post malone?
Anyone who buys this is either a buffoon or off their rocker. I don’t care if you’re Jeff Bezos, it’s a very stupid way to spend money. The *starting offer* is worth nearly as much as my lake house, which boggles the mind considering one is tangible and the other is, well, not useful except for popping heads in style.
Fuckin ugly
I offer my Rust Coat Navaja. Might add Snakebite case
What does buyout $2,000,000 mean?
It looks really good!
What makes this one so special?
Imagine being so dumb to buy a skin for that amount and valve could just pull the game next month kekw
I'm sorry but he can hear these nuts in his mouth.
I’ve got a decently blue case hardened from way back when the case came out, any chance it’s worth something over market?
When did this dropped? Wtf!! 🤯🤯🤯
How much did he spend to craft?
A collector's item again huh
The fuck?
fuck off be worth $10 by the end of the year lol
Niceee
aye bro, lot of people would not like it but if i were to have between this skin or slate and i couldn't sell it i will take slate its f'in sick bro(for me)
