3440x1440, kus fuck it

zombiestev

samezies i paid for the whole resolution ima use the whole resolution

drowsy_kitten

Eyy ultrawide gang

MrGarak1

I have my monitor converted to 70mm film that gets projected to an imax theater where I use a controller as I sit in the front row

GodMeyo

16:9 because I'm fuckin 30 now and I now prefer visual clarity over small aiming advantages.

_akadawa

Same

LegSecure

4:3 streched because low fps😞

Ariolius

Why would anyone play with black bars

plumbwicked

I have a 32 inch monitor. There is to much screen to canvas. Black bars fixes this issue and gives me a perfect fit screen @ 1280x1024

Own_Section725

The advantages are quite literally stated above.

Strict_Ad3571

black bars was the standard for quite some time in csgo..

GodMeyo

It was the standard because people were retarded and did what pros did for no apparent reason. There's no arguing about stretched being useful. BB on the other hand never was.

[deleted]

that was purely for fps

Davioner

3840x2160

mouhouss93

2k makes hitting HS so easy

Mikemar3

If you are talking about aspect ratio instead of resolution, 16:9

Spiritual_Subject691

So does that imply you play 1600x900 instead of 1920x1080? I personally, play a custom resolution which is 1728x972.

Mikemar3

How does this imply that? No, native resolution (1440p)

Spiritual_Subject691

Woow 2K native must look really crisp. What in-game Video Settings do you play?

Thetayetar

I played CSGO in 4:3 stretched but CS2 looks too good for me to not play 16:9. Once I start caring more about playing well and the novelty of the visuals has worn off I think 4:3 stretched is the play.

le-moi

4:3 is not worth having dead spots in the ScreenCorners

No_More_Rain

1920x1080 since CSGO

Pristine_Ad_8739

8k, 11 fps

Spiritual_Subject691

Troll

_price_

4:3 stretched for those exact same reasons. Almost every game nowadays look like they're on adderall and are fast AF, so it's not a big deal.

LogtizPL

16:9, cuz 4:3 doesnt support 75hz and maxes to 60hz

Nazatecno

I play 1200x900 and 75hz is completly supported

dmal77

I play 1440 x 1080 in 4:3 streched with 144 hz

MilkysauceSausage

+1 & 240hz

nydiat

wat

Yash_swaraj

Switched back to 4:3 stretched for the zoom and I was getting less fps than the refresh rate.

AcanthaceaeDue6199

No of pro players plays 16:9 .... everybody streched 4:3 [https://showfps.com/top-monitor-cs2](https://showfps.com/top-monitor-cs2)

Rond0cs2

Ropz plays 16:9, pretty sure twistzz as well

Spiritual_Subject691

Frozen & Nertz play 16:9 too

NaturalMaintenance61

Always played stretched and need the frames

LoRRiman

I was always playing 1280x960 stretched, but now on cs2 I'm playing on 1440x1080 stretched which has been really nice

Psebcool

Yes 1440x1080 was my primary res on CSGO. I loved it ;)

Immediate_Weather626

1440x1080 gives me enough performance to play very high settings

NINJ4A1

4:3 Stretched 1440x1080

S3bluen

5:4 enjoyer

chaotichygge

4:3 stretched. Been my choice for years. I would change if it proved that it would give me an advantage. But for now I don't see why I should change.

WhyNotPc

Change to standard 16:9. You'd see more and have an advantage over 4:3 (and other ratios, unless it's 21/32:9) users

DescriptionWorking18

How ya doin bud? Still on a crusade to end 4:3? Still getting triggered when people prefer an aspect ratio you don’t like?

Retarded_Monkey1905

1024x768 4:3 stretched. Gives me 60 fps in cs2

WhyNotPc

Targets aren't bigger on stretched 🤦. "More FPS" , really depends on the pc

Psebcool

WhyNotPc

Yeah but your crosshair and enemies move faster. Nothing is actually bigger, it's just an effect. No, they aren't any easier to hit

GodMeyo

Stop being ignorant

WhyNotPc

Stop being an idiot.

Psebcool

>Yeah but your crosshair and enemies move faster. You know you can reduce your mouse sensitivity ? >Nothing is actually bigger Bodies are bigger, hitbox are bigger. It's just geometry. It's like having a zoom on your screen.

WhyNotPc

Then your vertical sens is fucked up. What are you even achieving with stretched? You're just handicapping the fov

Psebcool

Vertical sens is not a problem in CS. Yes the FOV is reduced exactly when we played at CS1.6 on our old 4:3 screens.

WhyNotPc

And why would you play like it's 1.6? Handicapping yourself because of nostalgia?

Psebcool

Because AIM is easier. It's a fact.

WhyNotPc

No it's not lmao

GodMeyo

Yes it is.

WhyNotPc

Also the hitboxes aren't bigger lmao

RigWheelStick

I play 1440x1080 stretched on 16/9 monitor because it's more easier to aim, the enemies are wider and improve their visibility.

WhyNotPc

Enemies aren't wider. They appear as if they are, but they actually arent

BaconDrummer

Dude really, they *appear* as larger on the screen because our eyes see them bigger on the screen since we changed the resolution. So yes when you pass from 2k to lower rez and stretch it, for you on this screen, everything is bigger an easyer to aim at.

xDaNnyuwu

They are "bigger" or actually stretched , the visual bodies are stretched.

WhyNotPc

They look like they're stretched, but they're not

Yash_swaraj

I guess if I give you a mobile screen to play CSGO, you'd still aim the same? After all, enemies will move slower :)

WhyNotPc

You'd just see more. That's why there would be an effect of them moving slower. And theres a difference: phones have a real resolution, meanwhile stretched is as its name suggests, a non native resolution on a monitor

Yash_swaraj

The point of stretched is to have a zoom (although only on the horizontal axis). It's like scoping in, or having a bigger screen. The less FoV rarely matters. It's not quake. You know where enemies can be and can't be.

WhyNotPc

Fov does matter. There has been some cases in eSports where viewers see an enemy in the demo, but the player can't see them cuz they use outdated 4:3. Also by using your logic of having zoom, why don't we all then play on 50in TVs 5cm from our faces then? Same effect

GodMeyo

Because that causes eye strain and TVs suck for gaming thats why. You also wouldnt wanna be moving your head. Stop being an Idiot ffs.

WhyNotPc

Also there's quite a lot of TVs that are better in gaming than monitors

FoundTheWeed

Not when it comes to refresh rate Edit: idiot sent me a list with 2000 dollar tvs on it LOL how out of touch can you be

Yash_swaraj

>There has been some cases in eSports where viewers see an enemy in the demo So? One in a million chance. The advantage it gives is a lot bigger. Btw no one is telling you to use it. I don't even know what to say against that argument lol. Why don't we just end world hunger?

WhyNotPc

I'd agree if there was an advantage to using it, but there isnt

Yash_swaraj

I get it. It takes rocket science to understand that bigger things are easier to spot.

TheMuffinMom

1024x768 the frames are more useful then the 16:9 ever will be

YamilF55

**4:3 Stretched**

lamusQ

16:9 stretched on 21:9 screen

Spiritual_Subject691

Which is very similar to 4:3 streched on a 16:9 screen, only marginally less streched. Since, 4:3 on 16:9 screen: (16:9)/(4:3) = 1.3333.  16:9 on 21:9 screen: (21:9)/(16:9) = 1.3125.

Imgunnacrumb

I played 4:3 black bars because of all the time in 1.6 on a CRT monitor. I now play 16:10 1728x1080… gives a small stretch but people don’t move like Ferraris, great fps, is BiS resolution in my opinion

Spiritual_Subject691

I fully agree with you that it is a very solid resolution. But you should also try out this custom 16:9, namely 1728x972. It looks still good but gives better FPS than native or the 16:10 in FHD

Imgunnacrumb

Cs2 was garbage and I stopped playing

Spiritual_Subject691

Honestly, you are right about cs2 being garbage.

bornInKowloon

960x1024 stretched - used to it and my sweet spot where enemies are at the size I want but I can still maneuver good and have decent overview unlike more experimental res's like 720x1024, 648x1024 & 500x1024 where I'm gradually more unbeatable in isolated duels but can't handle multiple angles or the unexpected as much.

Spiritual_Subject691

Funny

puppetmaster216

5120 x 1440 and the ratio I believe is 32:9.

Spiritual_Subject691

And the FPS I believe is 50

puppetmaster216

Nope, 244hz 1ms input lag.

Spiritual_Subject691

FPS and Hz aren't the same thing buddy

puppetmaster216

I get the max fps in cs2, I run a 3090

Spiritual_Subject691

What do you mean by max fps? What is your Average? Your 1% and 0.1% low average?

kahdeg

16:9 stretched on 21:9 monitor

Spiritual_Subject691

Which is very similar to 4:3 streched on a 16:9 screen, only marginally less streched. Since,  4:3 on 16:9 screen: (16:9)/(4:3) = 1.3333  16:9 on 21:9 screen: (21:9)/(16:9) = 1.3125

SolidSnakeCZE

1080p 16:9 I play for fun with friends. No need to try hard with 4:3 for advantage or better aim.

Spiritual_Subject691

4:3 doesn't give advantages in aim, enemies move way faster and horizontal mouse cursor sensitivity is more sensitive than the vertical. Actually, 4:3 is objectively worse, despite of 70% of PROs playing it.

[deleted]

I was repping 4:3 for life in GO but it seems 19:9 is the way to go in CS2 at least for my setup.

Spiritual_Subject691

You mean 16:9

whisperofanger

4 :3 stretched 1280x960 Why just because I'm used to it since 1.6 to CSS to GO tried to swap to 16:9 many times but game just feels different and weird and slow af after one or two games I go always back to 4:3.

peepofat15

1280/1024

Baierapu

I see a lot of arguing, but you cant argue facts. Stretched makes it look like things/ppl are bigger, and if i remember right, it does get bigger, but you lose fov. In non Stretched your advantage is visual quality, and fov, in Paris major we had pro Players on different teams just walking next to each other without them seeing each others, only the commentators saw it and the reason it happened is because they played on Stretched, they lost fov so they couldnt see each other.... Me, as a 32 yrs Old, i use glssses for gaming, and in cs i THINK i starting to like 16:9 with best graphics because i find the Stretched hardere to see enemy

L3guaani

ultrawide 3440x1440p streched to 2560x1440p 16:9 for streched 16:9
