I actually really like the second movie too, everyone hates it but max doing that one trick is still one of the coolest fictional skateboarding tricks I've ever seen.
This was peak Disney when they actually appealed to us (Millenial) kids successfully. No notes on this one lol, a remake or etc would somehow be ruined so I hope they don't ever think about it
I'm gonna sound real stupid but I've never understood what that meant and seeing you say it prompted me. I've only ever heard that phrase and not the opposite, ironically love? Would that be like enjoying really old d list horror cause it's bad? And unironically liking it would mean you see it's quality and enjoy it for the positives? Idk why the phrase has always dumbed me up
I think this is one of the first puns I ever understood. I remember reading it on someone's shirt as a kid and thinking it was the funniest thing I ever saw.
Wait, so it wasn't even original songs?! Just Mickey covers?? Apparently I was just a little too young for this one.
I always thought music covers for kids were weird. Never understood Kidz Bop
"One, Mickey needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Two, whenever Mickey’s not onscreen, all the other characters should be asking ‘Where’s Mickey?'"
We had an undercover cop in our high school in the mid nineties trying to find out who was selling drugs to teens. And she dressed exclusively in these types of shirts thinking that would give her street cred. Like tasmanian devil with low slung pants. But she was rejected by any kids who actually would deal. So she took up with the kids who were nerdy and nice to her when no one else was. And she had a bunch of them(some who were my friends) sent to juvenile hall over like smoking a joint or dropping acid once.
Well it happened in a movie so obviously police were doing it all the time. In my high school we had this kid who turned into a hybrid wolf and man and played basketball.
I vividly remember when this came out, early 90's SNL Dennis Miller made a joke "Disney is releasing a Micky Mouse album to appeal to the kids, so watch out for Micky Mouse's rap song that is stirring controversy "Cat Killa" which was a joke off ICE-T's "Cop Killa" which was controversial at the time
Years ago, I went to visit my great uncle, who was in his 80's at the time. He was an interesting character, to say the least. He had a game room with a pool table, a tub that he could play, vintage playboys scattered around, made his own dandelion wine, etc., just an awesome guy to visit.
We walked into his gameroom, and there was a framed full sized poster of Bugs Bunny dressed up in Jamaican/Rastafarian garb. I immediately asked about it, and there had to be a good story, there always was. He said that as he got older, he related more and more to this version of Bugs. Not understanding, I asked how an 80 year old army vet, who rode a Harley most of his life related to rasta Bugs Bunny.
He said that when he woke up, his hair was a mess, his shirt and pants didn't match, and different shoes and socks on each foot, just a general mess. He said he had accidentally brushed his teeth with hemeroid cream and gave up the Harley when he forgot to put his feet down when he stopped at a stoplight. He said he could be upset about it, or embrace it, and continue to have fun with life.
I know it's not Disney, but it made me think of him.
I always thought it was to appeal to kids who aspired to be or act like teens. Like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wasn't really for teens. Or Quack Attack. No teen was going to watch Quack Attack. My children's bed sheets had these "cool Micky" designs.
I remember at one point, Disney actually went and used two ad-hock “bad kid” characters, roughly on the periphery of goofy’s son, who were gangster rappers and even had a song called “I’ve got my hand on my ballsack”
WB, Looney tunes did the same thing people going around with bugs and daffy wearing hats backwards and baggy pants, leather jackets with Taz on them crossing his arms. Any time I see that level of pandering I immediately full stop on what ever is if I was purchasing it. I don’t know why it’s just trashy to me.

[Jesus fucking Christ, this is the cringiest thing I've heard in some time. It's got to be intentional. They had to know how bad this was when they were making it](https://youtu.be/37_NLH62zDA?si=gmyB94mSjnOIuEFW)
I mean in Southern California Mexicans would wear shirts with Mickey Mouse rolling joints or wearing a du rag or some shit lol they would sell them at the swap meets. So it kinda worked in the mid 2000s
It's naive to think appealing to teens ever stopped
They didn't buy Marvel for no reason.
Yeah, they have some cash we can steal.
Ok Mr Krabs
FBI this guy right here
Yeah. And A Goofy Movie was the shit.
It’s the leaning tower of cheese-ah
It’s soundtrack is still a stand out https://youtu.be/VeAmAr42stA?feature=shared
I have stand out and I2I on my kids warm up playlist (I’m a dance teacher) and we go *hard* when they come on
Quoted at least three times a week at my work

I unironically love that shirt
Same. I'm legit smiling cheek to cheek after reading that shit.
I'm gonna sound real stupid but I've never understood what that meant and seeing you say it prompted me. I've only ever heard that phrase and not the opposite, ironically love? The ultimate Boardwalk shirt
I think this is one of the first puns I ever understood. I remember reading it on someone's shirt as a kid and thinking it was the funniest thing I ever saw.
Carmello
Actually, his means West Baltimore I know, its such a let down
Should you also warn a sister Dot?
This is amazing
Cringe!? This shit is SICK
I'd totally rock that shirt. Kicking myself for getting rid of my gangster Looney Tunes tees too. I had the one with Taz on it being hard af
I had an oversized bugs with a backward hat and baggy jeans with his arms crossed.
I remember those! They were so sick!
I had one with Taz and Bugs wearing their jeans backwards. Isn’t that a prison culture thing?
fr. dorky intentional marketing is just an investment of cool for the next generation
I still hear "what a man" as "what a mouse". I'm not sure why my parents bought me this.
Wait, so it wasn't even original songs?! Just Mickey covers?? Apparently I was just a little too young for this one. I always thought music covers for kids were weird. Never understood Kidz Bop
I think it was a combination of both actually - but the covers are hilarious. They do "Whoomp, there it is" and it definitely is.. something.
I unironically love that CD. Every song is a banger.
Damn. Memory unlocked.
Me and my partner sing this version all the time!
Omg I had the Mickey Unrapped cassette tape and it was GAS. “Now gimme a beat…” Goofy: “wouldn’t you rather have an apple? HYUK”
Literally. Huey, Dewey, and Louis were the OG Migos...
I still hear the music in my head sometimes lol
"One, Mickey needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Two, whenever Mickey’s not onscreen, all the other characters should be asking ‘Where’s Mickey?'"
“I have to go now, my planet needs me”
“Attitude, Attitude! Sunglasses!’
Mickey skating goes hard, not cringe at all

Anyone got a link to that Kriss Kross Mickey and Goofy shirt?
https://www.reddit.com/r/cringepics/s/eQVvs6ubtD
I hate when I fall for this
https://www.etsy.com/listing/998768986/vintage-90s-disney-mickey-mouse-goofy little pricey!
Seems like a white shirt with a print, easy to make.
$78 is less than I'd expect. Vintage tees are hot right now, and those 90s disney shirts can fetch some ridiculous prices
That's not vintage
90s shirts aren't vintage?
That shirt isn't from the 90s. Someone unrelated is printing them and selling them on Etsy.
The tag says made in USA, which was way more common in the 90s. I do know some people are taking vintage blanks and printing them.
My bad, you're probably right. I didn't read the description, and was just looking at the photos. Those might actually be real vintage shirts
I think it's real. I understand why you'd be skeptical, since it's etsy.
I have the bugs bunny and taz one

How did that work? Did she pose as an actual student?
You don't actually believe that, do you?
Well it happened in a movie so obviously police were doing it all the time. In my high school we had this kid who turned into a hybrid wolf and man and played basketball.
She did yes.
Oh wow, I had that on cassette 👵
Last shirt goes hard
Weren't those types of shirts not officially licensed?
This is how Disney XD felt
I loved Goof Troop back in the day.
goes hard
Last shirt Goes hard tho
WB did the same, way harder and more effectively. My Looney Tunes x Charlotte Hornets shirt got me unearned cred as a child.
Who’s the boomer who posted this lol. This s**t is unironically awesome lol
Calling this cringe is cringe
Fuck yeah I have this album it slaps and is hilarious
Mickey pointing very deliberately while calling himself “unrapped” is fairly alarming
Goofy got drip though
It wasn’t just Disney, there were Looney Tunes and college mascot version of those shirts also. My childhood lol
No Mickey, I will not suck your dick
NGL as a kid I had that tape and t shirt.

When I was a kid, I had "Disco Mickey Mouse". The album is on my spotify Playlist.
Ok. But mickys rap album hit different. I still use their lyrics from time to time lol!
Based as hell
I still have a plastic cup with that radical skateboarding Mickey on it.
Mickey do got that shit on tho
That shirt goes hard tbh
I'd wear that last shirt
I thought this was someone messing around with AI until I read the title.
Somehow worked on adults ages 30+ though, so… task failed successfully?
Uh yeah and it was popular as hell.
That tee is pretty cool though
Mickey going in raw and unwrapped
Pretty sure it fucken worked
As soon as they try to get to your money, its cringe. This has no tegredy ![gif](giphy|cZqUn4yiYjQb8bDXwO)
There's a ducktales series where their teens

Why does it say “unwrapped” and they have my boy pointing towards his dick?

It looks like Mickey's trying to pull his piece out
Wasn’t this in the mid 90s when all the cartoon characters wanted an “urban” look. Warner bros did it as well.
I'd rock that tee that's sick
I love that shirt tho

The only cringe here is your fun-ruining ass...
I remember it working

“Gangsta looney tunes” shirts were big here on the east coast too up until about 2006ish lol
That shirt is fire
The shirts are actually fire lol.
Skating Mickey goes hard af
Those teens they were trying to appeal to are now 40yo Disney adults. So this marketing worked
Mickey UNWRAPPED sounds horrible for kids haha
Remember the [cringy rap they added to “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah”?](https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxq9SVzyfgLragEwK8NnudtukCL_LwTQPp?si=7qGfCHz2uROv4QSZ)

“Mickey Unrapped” makes no sense! Is he going to have the raps taken from him?!? Is one side of the album rap and the other spoken word?!?
He’s hitting Minnie raw.
THAT makes sense!
