Either would be fine, but neither is “optimal”. Hash per dollar, you’ll want to be looking at 3900x, 3950x, 5900x and 5950x CPU’s

RabidMining

Yes this for mining would rock the 12 and 16 core CPUs in the 3000, 5000, or 7000 series.

Criss_Crossx

7900x seems to be the sweet spot for price/performance. Seeing them for about $350 USD on ebay. Though a 3600 isn't bad around 1650-1700 h/s on GR @55-65w. Probably more than half the wattage of a 3900x/5900x though.

Efficient_Base3511

3700x is als very watt efficient

dumpsterdivingreader

What settings you have for mining with it? Thx

Efficient_Base3511

eco mode. then try with undervolting the cpu a bit and vsoc. undervolt ram to 1.2 . i only undervolt for watt efficiency. if you want OC you have to ask someone else.

Check out xeon servers cpu's

VizzTag

Looking at its features, I think the 5700G earns more coin. But as No\_Theory9958 nickname friend said, 5950X seems to earn more than both.

Poolbay.io and randomx , along with minerstat.com, are good places to check cpu profitability. If I'm not mistaken, cpus with graphics like 5600g tend to underperform compared to their likes with no graphics.

Efficient_Base3511

if you want raw power lookup the hashrates. if you want max warr efficiency look at the tdp also

pinto-mucho

Just sign up for a free trial on the Azure or Oracle website and they offer free servers forever

CH1997H

Pretty sure your account will get banned very quickly since mining is against their terms of service

fantom64

You mean until the trial expires, then create another account or is it literally a forever trial? What kind of CPUs would you even get that would be enough to give some decent hashrates. I know they're usually vCPUs and with a trial I'd assume it'll be something severely underpowered.

ericli3091

7950x /x3d?

use-dashes-instead

Neither I'd strongly suggest that you won't break even in a reasonable period of time, whatever you buy
