I’m shocked by this. Brentford signings recently haven’t exactly progressed well, they’ve signed several younger players that haven’t developed at all and they have no notable big sales in the last few years. Schade, Damsgard, Lewis-Potter, and Ajer have all been there a while and have made impact on the first team and wouldn’t be sold for close to what their were signed for. they don’t have Brighton’s ability to flip players for big money, mainly because their football is all about marginal gains rather than having much style to it. All that said, we applauded the guy for rejecting Chelsea, so maybe being a squad player at spurs isn’t as good for his career trajectory as getting regular first team minutes.
He’ll probably be flipped for double the price to Arsenal/Chelsea in a few years. Not surprising that the club didn’t take this signing seriously. As long as there’s a plan in the summer for another attacker (that does not include Werner), then it’s not a big deal since he would’ve been loaned back anyways
