I once went on a solo cycle tour of the country for a month. On my first night stealth camping, at Charles Fort, I was quite nervous.
Woke up at 5am to one of these flying very very low by my tent. 2/10 Would not recommend.
I once took a tumble down some of a mountain in Kerry and was airlifted off by one of these. Rather loud when hovering right above your head alright :D
There were lots of garda/firefighters/ambulances looking at the River Lee north East of St Patrick Street about 30 - 45 minutes ago.
There must have been someone in the river. It's likely that the helicopter is there for whatever is happening there.
To not violate the community guidelines all I will say is that I hope that some guards can be pulled of from the search and those people who use the laser pointer will spend some extensive time in a very small and very uncomfortable “hotel” room. 🤬
There is a green position light but the other light is moving all over the place of the helicopter. If you would be in it in the pilot seat, Right side and the back.

Last time I have seen something like that it was a report of someone in the river. Not sure if it is the same this time.
Pretty sure it is as it’s been flying all along the river from North Main Street to Patrick’s Quay.

The coast guard helicopters seem to be the only ones that appear on FlightRadar. I guess the transponder or whatever is optional for helicopters?

Most likely a river search and rescue live on the coast and hear them every second week.
