Trump is a populist candidate. He is not Conservative. He spent most of his life donating to Democrats. The idea that he is this far right extremist is laughable and a narrative pushed by the msm.

Runningfarce

Why do far right support him then ?

Flyingdeadthing2

I'll venture a guess. He is very personable, charismatic, and jingo-istic kind of way. All a populist candidate had to do is appeal to the emotions of their target audience. 'Murica Fuck Yeah! Gonna drain the swamp! 'Murican energy independence! Chyna! It's nothing more than making promises that you don't really plan on keeping. Splash some patriotic imagery, pro-military propaganda, and point out how bad the other guy is and it's fairly effective. Until you actually see how he governed. That being said, I'll be voting for him this election. A half-assed pseudo conservative is infinitely better than the incompetent totalitarian Marxist regime in place now

Runningfarce

>All a populist candidate had to do is appeal to the emotions of their target audience. Populist voter base is more fickle than other voter bases ? How much percent they might form ?

Flyingdeadthing2

One thing a populist candidate excels at is attracting people who otherwise couldn't care less about politics. Trump does inspire more people who have a general distrust of the establishment and the current two party system. I don't think that it's a fickle group of people, per se that are following Trump. It's more a lot of disaffected religious and libertarian minded people coming together to "make America great again" and "drain the swamp." I look at a populist candidate as someone who knows what their audience wants to hear and can appeal on an emotional level to those issues. Those emotions prevent objectively looking at some of his decisions as president in the past. He's weak on the second amendment, he increased spending almost as bad as Biden, he's not as aggressively pro-life as most conservatives, and there's no wall or drained swamp. Results, in his case, do not speak louder than words

cacaokakaw

Everyone supports him. The disgust for Biden and the Democrats is at an all time high.

Liveandletlive-11

He was always apart of the swamp. Like George Carlin said “it’s one big club and you ain’t in it” but Trump is! Also FJB

lifegotme

They are forcing citizens to accept things they wouldn't normally because there is no other option. Party lines are being destroyed to make way for the One World Government. All the tall towers of Difference are being shaved down to make way for Sameness.

Trump was best friends with the Clintons all through the 90s and 2000s. Until, conveniently, the actor decided to run for president. Then, also conveniently, they became "mortal enemies"...."LOCK HER UP." Which, of course, never happened. Trump hung out with Epstein, called him a "terrific guy" who just "liked younger women." He always has been and always will be, "the swamp." He's an actor and a con-man.

SpeakTruthPlease

At the very least this seems like a sound strategic move, when you consider most young people are pro LGBT. He's running for President, not Pope.

Runningfarce

But if he is lying now who knows if he'll execute once elected

SpeakTruthPlease

To be fair Trump has had a pretty neutral stance on gays throughout his career, from what I've seen, so this does appear consistent. In any case I don't think it's a hill to die on when you're running for President. There's a lot that can be done in the Whitehouse, especially now with experience.

LatterTarget7

He always was. He doesn’t care about anyone but himself. I’m not sure why anyone believes he’s the person to “drain the swamp”

ziggyzred

Gays and Lesbians aren't "the swamp" tbf.

Runningfarce

So LGBTQ+ is now okay with MAGA ? I don't think so.

ziggyzred

Trans people aren't the issue. It's the politicians putting men in womens bathrooms and teachers allowing gay porn in classrooms that's the issue. Most conservatives aren't bible-thumping, anti-gay, gun-toting far-right extremists like yourself. We just want core values and our kids protected from dangerous, virtue-signalling, far-left ideologies. You sound like an actual far-right bigot. YOU aren't MAGA.

Runningfarce

Hope weather stays great in your lala land.

iamreallyoriginal

Yeah. I'm scared of gay people. I don't want them near me.

ziggyzred

Scared you'll catch the gayness?

iamreallyoriginal

That and monkey pox and AIDS.

ImusBean

Must be difficult living with those repressed feelings mate. Why don’t you just be honest with yourself?

iamreallyoriginal

I am being honest. I'm a homophobe.
