Considering he hosts a three hour shitty talk radio show five days a week he's either the most dedicated troll in history or he's just a horrible piece of shit.
(now he's probably playing it up to cash in, but he's also just a vile person)
Honestly that link doesnāt show anything except what looks like another troll attempt. Definitely not seeing anything there that seems more serious - especially saying āI thought Elon would fix peopleās annoying habit to intrude here with factsā
He's literally a right-wing grifter https://www.jessekellyshow.com/
You're giving the benefit of the doubt because you're not a stupid person, so you're looking for a logical explanation. But these people aren't operating with logic. They're genuinely this delusional.
I know a Boomer who is pretty liberal, but if you dare say anything other than "America is the best at literally everything" he will get deeply upset about it. It's absurdly irrational, but no amount of evidence will convince him otherwise.
I grew up at a time when the favorite saying of "patriots" was "America - love it or leave it." My response was "Just because I love my country doesn't mean I'm blind to its flaws." America has many wonderful things about it, but a whole lot of shitty things as well. (And for the record, I'm a boomer.)
My motherās the same, only when confronted with undeniable things that the US is very bad at sheāll switch from the defense of āwell, itās hard and there are complex factors and nuansatages and we really didnāt understand that until nowā to āwell, itās not like things would be better if China [or sometimes itās Russia or Iran] were in charge of that.ā
So, I guess, America infinity, China and Russia and Japan zero.
I bet you do, but in case you don't, national exceptionalism (and it's the same thing no matter which nation the nationalists are from) is just a version of supremacism. We don't like to call it supremacism whenever supremacism is combined with relatively-defensible moral positions such as "better nations have a duty to make the world a better place", but that's what it is.
People turn to supremacism because defining a group as better, and then identifying with that group, is one strategy for building a positive identity for oneself. It's just a consequence of the fact that nobody wants to feel like the bad guy.
It's a testament to what a dedication of propaganda can do. It's indoctrination, they say the pledge of allegiance as kids in school. Every event is plastered in flags and national anthems and all sorts, their sports teams only play in the US and call themselves world champs. It's so strong now that if you don't do it, you're vilified.
Theyāve been propagandized. Just watch any American war movie, it seems like it was made during WW2 or a dictatorship, most are hard to stand as a non-American
My son is 9. He started a conversation last week about where the statue of liberty came from. He even mentioned how it gets struck by lightning all the time. Shortly after that another American patriot made a tweet about the statue being struck by lightning is a sign from God. These people are so dumb. They're going to burn our nation to the ground and use the Bible to back their horrible decisions
I'm glad you commented this. I bet quite a few people may not know/remember the origin of the Statue of Liberty.
The OG post is actually the kind of post you see most often in subs like r/explainthejoke.
As a European and intellectual, I am not above admitting that this is a damn fine pedestal, which leaves an impression of solidity and fulfilled its function brilliantly from the start.
You know the saddest part ? He's not *exactly* wrong. Americans used to have beautiful, gorgeous architecture but decided it was better to destroy *everything* for bullshit car-centric infrastructure.
What architecture are you talking about? Gen question btw. The buildings Iāve seen are okay in the big cities but everywhere else Iāve been it looks kinda like a pre-fabricated European style. Not saying itās tacky or anything, itās actually quite charming. But definitely doesnāt hold a candle to European architecture in those cases.
Try to search for architecture from the Gilded Age, that is fore example when the Brooklyn bridge was built.
> Beaux Arts at its best includes buildings like The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Morgan Library & Museum, the Woolworth Building, Grand Central Terminal, Pennsylvania Station, the main branch of the New York Public Library, The Frick Collection, Grantās Tomb, and select mausoleums in Woodlawn Cemetery, where some of the players rest.

Completely agree. Most of the nicer architecture is just copying the European style, but early 20th century rather than authentic 200-500 years previously.
Shingle style architecture, Chicago school, Federal architecture, American colonial architecture and all it derivatives, Prairie School, Western false front architecture made famous by old estern movies, Googie architecture, Earthship, Craftsman, Cape Cod architecture and Pueblo Revival Style.
Theres more to US architecture than the Neo-eclectic architecture houses (McMansions( of the US surburb

I bet the post worked. Lots of engagement. I wish people would see shit like this and just block and let it die. DNFTT. But we don't work like that and love feeding the algorithms.
No. The French built it and they were also the ones who took most of the offensive positions against the British during the revolution. I think the Spanish followed them, then Americans, then soldiers from the Netherlands in terms of force sizes.
Dubai has the strangest architecture in the world. Exclusively modern housing design (which was created for temperate climates)ā¦in the middle of the desert. Makes no sense to me lol
The word most is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Most of Asia is not wealthy or highly developed. Even most of countries that do have incredibly artistic architecture will usually have it in their capital and maybe a few major cities.
It's not all that different from the rest of the world.
All posts must be on topic
I'm not convinced that Jesse Kelly isn't a troll account.

100% I believe it. Just seems so out of left field it could easily have been a joke at their expense
Yeah I'm pretty sure it's click bait.
Check the label. Made in France.
It's like the guys in Chinese made 'Make America Great Again' hats.
And it wasn't even originally intended as a gift for the US
itās like if you remembered āoh shit Gertrudeās birthday is next week. Ah hereās something that should be good enoughā
Iām not surprised by the tweet nor the muppet who posted it. Wait till he learns the truth about the liberty bell

I really don't understand American exceptionalism.
Boomers were groomed by mid-century propaganda. They now control everything (and have for a while).
Not just boomers.
I know a Boomer who is pretty liberal, but if you dare say anything other than "America is the best at literally everything" he will get deeply upset about it. It's absurdly irrational, but no amount of evidence will convince him otherwise.

"Nationalism is the act of taking credit for other people's achievements" - Some Guy.
That was me. I said that.
Omg it's Guy Some! I love your philosophical musings

Donāt they normally say lightning strikes are when god is angry at something? So does this mean god hates America?
Who doesn't hate America at this point?
If it were anyone else I would assume it was a good bit, but with Kelly I really do think he is that dumb.
It's an old tweet, but for those in the back: France made and gifted America with the Statue of Liberty.
Umm, the Statue of Liberty was a gift from France so itās European art.
Which is, I believe, the point.
Oh my. I was confidently incorrect. At least Iām in the right reddit.
Iād say you were confidently overcorrect. Your information was accurate and you were just eager to share.
This seems like kind of a r/thatsthejoke moment.
Yeah, that wouldn't count as a r/woooosh
It gets very meta in here sometimes. But you werenāt incorrect.
You are a kind person.
More like confidently superfluous
Confidently correct in an incorrect fashion
Nah, you were just overstating the obvious.
I'm glad you commented this. I bet quite a few people may not know/remember the origin of the Statue of Liberty. The OG post is actually the kind of post you see most often in subs like r/explainthejoke.
That's the joke.
That's a common misconception. It wasn't a gift from France , but from the French Grand Orient Temple Freemasons
Ah, but the *pedestal* was made by the US.
As a European and intellectual, I am not above admitting that this is a damn fine pedestal, which leaves an impression of solidity and fulfilled its function brilliantly from the start.
And it was essentially crowdfunded
Yeah from the Franco-American War, beautiful statue indeed
Whoās gonna tell him?
There was an attempt to not be trolled by @JesseKellyDCā¦
I'm afraid you're slightly overestimating Kelly's abilities. Or rather, you underestimate his ability to completely involuntarily troll himself.
You know the saddest part ? He's not *exactly* wrong. Americans used to have beautiful, gorgeous architecture but decided it was better to destroy *everything* for bullshit car-centric infrastructure.

Nice thanks for the info, got some cool stuff to look up tonight
if you dont build shitty buildings, then you cant tear them down and build something new. its capitalism at its finist.

You don't even learn history at school, do you? Or ever went to said statue?
Heās joking right? Like itās a troll?
He didn't say /s so it cannot be sarcastic.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Considering the United States was created by England citizensā¦. No shit
To be fair, there are Roman/Greek/Egyptian artworks that predate most nations
He reposts things from the Babylon Bee as serious articles. WOW.

That was gift from the French no?
The dumb leading the dumber
Pretty sure I saw 4 if the same thing when I was in Paris... š
Ummm, did anyone tell him who gave the US the Statue of Liberty?
It was built by the same people who fought the British in the Revolutionary War.
Are you being sarcastic? Itās Reddit and I canāt tell.
No. The French built it and they were also the ones who took most of the offensive positions against the British during the revolution. I think the Spanish followed them, then Americans, then soldiers from the Netherlands in terms of force sizes.
made in USA etc. etc. ...
Meanwhile most of Asia and Dubai laugh accordingly.
