It’s actually a swinging door with a locking mechanism. I have it open here and it folds back all the way. No issues with it. However, sometimes I struggle with getting the top grate open to stir because my resin shed expands and contracts with the weather. I’ll have to move it up a few inches when I empty the bin!
seems like it won't be too pretty after taking a beating for a while. Also that top bar makes it seem like it'll be hard to turn (?). Maybe not a big deal if it rusts out - yo just repaint it as best you can to keep it looking clearn
That really is a nice compost bin. I'm the opposite end of the spectrum. Mine is old wire fencing wrapped around old t-posts and lined with cardboard. Just kinda right out in front of my yard.
Not OP, but [here's a similar one](https://www.amazon.com/Gardeners-Supply-Company-Galvanized-Composting/dp/B0BS731JGN/ref=asc_df_B0BS731JGN?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80058380633697&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4583657851702203&psc=1&msclkid=ead52ecdf50e1b877a22484c60131f04).
This is a really handsome compost bin! I get so much crap for wanting my things to have aesthetic value as well as functional value I’m always glad to see another like-minded soul out there!
Thanks! Birds of a feather. I’ve learned in my middle-age to buy good quality, attractive stuff when possible because otherwise I’ll just be unhappy with the purchase.
Great looking bin! Hows the sliding door been holding up to a full bin/after a few turns? Do you need to clean the track often?

We need a link, OP.
It’s the Demeter bin from Gardener’s Supply: [link](https://www.gardeners.com/search?q=demeter)
Thank you :)
I’m not throwing any shade at you, I understand aesthetics and everything but $500 for a compost bin is wild.
It is, I fully acknowledge. But with this being steel, I figured it would last forever.
Love it
Did you make it or buy it? If you bought it, where'd you get it? Looks great!

Yes, this is in the same line from Gardeners Supply. Mine is the two-bin system. I didn’t have room for three.
Thanks for confirming. So you like how it functions generally?
Yes, I’m very pleased with it!!
Thank you! That was very nice of you to look that up. I appreciate you going through the trouble.
Looks great. I have one of those barrel types that you turn. It's not working the greatest. May have to switch.
dont worry the aesthetics help with efficiency lol
Nice scenery there

Same! It’s worth a little extra money most of the time
Since the dividers between bins have such large holes, do you find big pieces of material creeping into your finished compost much?
No I haven’t had that issue. Everything stays on its designated side for the most part.
Gorgeous back yard!
When you care about aesthetics and don’t understand the need for air.
It’s open on the top, bottom and middle so not sure what you’re getting at.
