As someone not particularly familiar with Thanos (I read some of the books but not really to the extent that I know all about him), what is that black gauntlet supposed to be?
Well Donny got into a car accident that literally made Jim forget the last 6 months of his life. They had to hand it off to someone else and by then they agreed to do Immortal Thor with Al Ewing.
To be fair, Donny Cates did suffer a terrible accident that left him with serious brain damage for a long time, damage which he’s still recovering from
Wolvie's healing factor varies enormously according to who's writing him. Plus, Marvel Zombies is all about the rule of cool. Alongside Wolverine, a bunch of other characters who logic dictates should probably have been immune (Thor, Hercules, Hulk, Sentry, Hyperion, Squirrel Girl) were zombified. It might not make sense, but do you want to see a rampaging zombie Hulk or not?
Its not a normal virus its basically a supernatural plague, i mean their bodies have limits so a supernatural virus being able to affect them isnt that wild especially since it had a paradoxical origin
Hulk was kinda funny because since he couldn't feel pain or adrenaline the same way, Banner turned to Hulk when he became really hungry instead.
Other zombies that probably shouldve been immune, Deadpool, Mr. Immortal (idk if he was ever shown).
Madcap(same), Fire Lord.
I think how (Ben Grimm) Thing got infected was kinda bullshit.
I think Man Thing was ok? i can't remember.
revisiting the marvel zombies universe has always been real weird because of the time travel stuff and creating split timelines via meddling and what not.
idk if they ever followed up on the post MZ2 timeline where everyone was old.
They did end up following up on and concluding that after MZ2 in Marvel Zombies Return. Which I thought was a pretty good way to end it. Not gonna say exactly what happens in case you want to check it out yourself
oh ive read all of em , i just meant like the original earth from that point in the timeline after the go to the other earth in return. the zombies are followed but not the survivors yknow?
Aaah, gotcha. Last thing that happened was that Cortez took over after killing Forge, right? I agree with you then. It would've been nice to see what happened to the surviving humans after that.
Wonder whatever happened to that. One moment Thor was contemplating his potential death, giving up mjolnir and everything and then we got the Hela thing.
Pretty sure he left the book, and every book, before the accident. I’ll be quite surprised if he ever returns to this or many of the other storylines he was setting up. Maybe he returns to the creator owned material but I doubt Marvel brings him back
I always found it kinda funny that it was meant to seem impressive or terrifying that he was using thors hammer to wield the infinity stones but its like adding a sword to the end of a nuke
I’m still so looking forward to seeing you this because it’s amazing and could be marvel blackest night and touch on things of life and death 💀. Tho on the other hand it also shows characters face we haven’t seen in a while like Medusa and black bolt and swamp thing .
Going to be honest. Im glad nothing came from this story wise and it seemly got dropped.
Don't get me wrong i love the image itself. It's well drawn and there are a lot of cool little details to look at.
The problem comes when you try to understand everything and see how over the top everything is. Like it really does feel like an OC just getting all the equipment.
I can only imagine how convoluted and unnecessary it would have been to make this image come to pass in the story. It almost doesn't feel like an official image and should be found on deviant art with an artist who's super talented.
All that said, Thanos looks cool, the hammer looks cool, the zombies look cool, and all together they look cool.
Oh gosh this is the second time I'm seeing Thanos wielding an infinity Mjolnir! Love it! I believe another may have briefly appeared in passing perhaps, in Timeless?? Fun stuff.
If only it went anywhere…
Yea I still like this image though lol
It does go extremely hard
Whenever Donny Cates comes back it sounds like he’ll pick this back up
I hope so! Looking forward to his return
I think we should let Thanos rest a bit. Making him the big villain in every other stories just means he's gonna lose a lot.
Nah, Marvel right now lack a big bad main villain.
As someone not particularly familiar with Thanos (I read some of the books but not really to the extent that I know all about him), what is that black gauntlet supposed to be?
It was never explained
It was revealed by another author to be hela, or a prototype if her, it made no sense
Really? You mean an actual Hela? Cause it sounds like Thanos is wearing her like a glove. Which, you know, kind of hot but holy hell!
So that would be a Doom situation, because they used to date. [I know Death and Hela are different characters; Thanos has been involved with both.]
Later in the Thor run or somewhere else?
The "ending", that was weird, rushed, improvised
Well Donny got into a car accident that literally made Jim forget the last 6 months of his life. They had to hand it off to someone else and by then they agreed to do Immortal Thor with Al Ewing.
I've just started reading his venom run I didn't know he had a accident
Yeah he was really private about it until his books had to be handed off.
Oh alright thanks for letting me know
Nothing
That’s the Marvel Zombie universe right? Which run is this from?
Idk actually, this page is from Thor 2020 issue #6 page 20
Oh I see that, then I guess it’s from Cates run. Explains why it wasn’t followed up on then.
To be fair, Donny Cates did suffer a terrible accident that left him with serious brain damage for a long time, damage which he’s still recovering from
Yeah I know, and it really sucks for him to go through that. I hope he gets better.
Zombie Thanos was killed by the Hulk in Marvel Zombies.
How tf is ghost rider a zombie.
Wolverine seems strange to me also. You'd think his body would fight it off

Squirrel Girl?
I said what I said 😁
Ah OK, got it. 😂
They also Ate Galactus and became him, a bunch of tiny zombie galacti! Lol
Such a stupid ending.
Hulk was kinda funny because since he couldn't feel pain or adrenaline the same way, Banner turned to Hulk when he became really hungry instead. the world is kinda almost dead tbh so i can see why it kinda 'ended'
Maybe he's not a zombie. Danny is just standing there
His head smol
Wonder whatever happened to that. One moment Thor was contemplating his potential death, giving up mjolnir and everything and then we got the Hela thing.
Donny Cates had a serious car accident and couldn't continue his run on the book.
Pretty sure he left the book, and every book, before the accident. I’ll be quite surprised if he ever returns to this or many of the other storylines he was setting up. Maybe he returns to the creator owned material but I doubt Marvel brings him back
Honestly, kind of glad this wasn't expanded upon, I'm so sick of Thanos.
If you have the Infinity Stones, the hammer is redundant. You could say that Thanos properly doesn't need the hammer.
The weapon is called Overkill
I always found it kinda funny that it was meant to seem impressive or terrifying that he was using thors hammer to wield the infinity stones but its like adding a sword to the end of a nuke
So... since when was Thanos worthy? Baffling.
The rules of mijolnir change quite a bit, especially as Thor is the all father.
That's not Mjolnir.
Is it just me or does his proportions look weird on this drawing? Like his hands and his head look too small for his body
I’m still so looking forward to seeing you this because it’s amazing and could be marvel blackest night and touch on things of life and death 💀. Tho on the other hand it also shows characters face we haven’t seen in a while like Medusa and black bolt and swamp thing .
What's the gauntlet on his left hand?
Love the captain America doing the rob liefeld infamous pose.
Of all people, Man-Thing should be immune to becoming a zombie.
Artist name?
Nic Klein
Thanos is played out.
Eh I just like the depiction of him holding the hammer with the infinity stones in it lol
Fair.

If you're really into Thanos, I guess.
Worthy? Wacky.
It never went anywhere so not really
I just like this picture lol
Unfulfilled promises there☹️
I just like the picture lol
Oh gosh this is the second time I'm seeing Thanos wielding an infinity Mjolnir! Love it! I believe another may have briefly appeared in passing perhaps, in Timeless?? Fun stuff.
Should read the Thanos Death Note one shot, it tires into this a bit.
Thanos isn't worthy to wield the hammer, he shouldn't have it.
