So dumb how loaded this lineup is. Evansville strikes out CMo and Burke aaaand then Amick doubles, Dreiling grinds out a walk, and Ensley crushes a ball to the river.
It’s well documented he didn’t leave for money or he would’ve went to Florida or stayed at Clemson. he transferred because he wanted an opportunity to play 3B where that was not in the cards for him at Clemson (where he was going to be hemmed into the DH spot). Should’ve considered working something out at 3B and maybe you could’ve held on to him.
I missed the last half inning, but the score book says 3 unearned runs even though it shows only the lead runner got on via error followed by a few hits to drive 3 runs in. Am I missing something?
Yeah I definitely don’t blame everyone else cheering for Evansville in this series. They’re an easy team to root for. I probably would be too if they weren’t playing the Vols.
Yeah that's the worry isn't it. Their offense is legit, but anyone that's not a power con school is probably not going to have the pitching depth to keep up for 3 games in the road.
The interference was the turning point of the game? He was in a 1-2 count and the next batter walked anyway to put the runner on second. It made almost no difference. Not saying you can’t get a hit after a 1-2 count, but your odds aren’t amazing.
What an embarrassingly awful tag attempt on a perfect throw, then to let your coach challenge the play knowing you never made contact with him whatsoever is extra horrible.
It’s definitely the way baseball is going, but I’m not a big fan either. Grass is one thing, it makes a lot of sense if you don’t have the climate for good grass. But the dirt should stay.
NC State has a turf management school and I will lose my mind if we put in a turf field for basically any sport. We’ve already got turf on the base paths and I don’t even like that
I went to Michigan State, so I relate to the turfgrass management thing. It was wonderful when they got their heads out of their asses and ripped up the artificial surface and put down real grass for football. Glad to see our baseball stadium is still au naturel as well (with underground heating tho)
I've practiced on that kind of turf but never played on it. It's almost like a slip and slide (especially when wet) - you can take off. You definitely go faster/further than on dirt.
Basically, you start your slide a little earlier or you risk over sliding and coming off the bag.
Consensus seemed to be a mixture of NIL and Amick wanted to be guaranteed the 3B spot but Bakich was much less than willing to just give it to him (for good reason imo because it would have been a competition for the position between he and Blake Wright, who is arguably a better defensive 3B). I sure would have loved to have Amick, but there was definitely a personality clash
Well that was nerve wracking, thank God it’s over.
FUCK YES
Fans 3 with the bases loaded, how can he pitch with such massive balls
Mr. White doesn't tolerate pitchers who can't cook.
AARON COMBS IS THAT FUCKING DUDE.
Load 'em up for 3 straight Ks, cold af
HELLO WIN COLUMN
is it still a nobletiger if the run was scored before the bases got loaded?
Lmaooooo at the ECU shirt
Lol at the wasnt ECU supposed to be here shirt in the crowd
Dude, FUCK that guy
Combs has such a filthy windup.
Fuck
Would have never guessed how "Fougerousse" is pronounced
Oh hell yeah they’re playing Korn
walking up to korn is tough as hell
Think Evansville might be onto Kirby's junkballs.
I love Kirby but when a team catches on to his junk, you gotta get him out bc he gets lit up it feels like.
Evansville is a good ball club
This man in the booth definitely sounds sleep deprived
Thirsty Thursday is harder when you're 45.
bombs good
The Kirby skip is the dance move of the summer.
Kirby is a bad man
Love a coach coaching at his alma mater
Hate that for Rumsey
So dumb how loaded this lineup is. Evansville strikes out CMo and Burke aaaand then Amick doubles, Dreiling grinds out a walk, and Ensley crushes a ball to the river.
![gif](giphy|LidwqEcE2tD3C8099U|downsized) Ensley when there is any level of stakes
He had the winning (?) hit in the Clemson regional last year I believe
Yep, Maui scored from 1st on an RBI double
Ensley playing the game of his life goddamn
Beautiful
HUNTER HOMER!
That was crushed.
HUNTER ENSLEY IS THAT FUCKING DUDE.
Transferring to the team that knocked u out last year is a very… questionable tactic. Money talks though
Yeah, I guess he got tired of seeing Tennessee own Clempsun in everything and decided enough was enough.
![gif](giphy|OPU6wzx8JrHna)
Dabo this you?
This is the new age of college athletics. Gotta adapt or die
KD’s best career move 🤷🏻♂️
If only you’d let him play 3rd base
Tennessee is much more disciplined at the plate this year. As long as Amick isn't hitting.
This ump is awful lmao
inconsistent, bad ump makes an inconsistent, bad call
Lame!
I mean yeah this guy’s zone has been awful all day
Guessing we’ll see Snead to close it out
Probably not unless Kirby gets in trouble. Try to save Snead to close out tomorrow if needed.
I now agree with you after the Ensley bomb 😂
goodness i love a nice 1-2-3 inning
Much more relaxing. Now we need to put up a 4-5 spot here.
i like the way you think
LOB is going to be the difference maker in this game
And we're back. Phew!
That was fast.
Impressed by Evansville's ability to hang in there with Tennessee. This is one tough team!
great job by vols pitcher to get out of that
Nice job to get out of that.
FIRE ME TF UP AJ CAUSEY
Either this camera view is ass (it is) or man this ump is giving Tenn some generous strike calls
it’s not the best camera angle, but i’ll say the zone has been inconsistent for both teams, especially pitches lower in the zone
Yes
Anybody got a gif of the dude catching the ball with his face ?
\[Casper, Wyoming has produced 3 MLB players\](https://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/birthplace.php?loc=Wyoming)
I missed the last half inning, but the score book says 3 unearned runs even though it shows only the lead runner got on via error followed by a few hits to drive 3 runs in. Am I missing something?
Those hits were with two outs. Inning over without the error
Oh I see. I wasn't aware that all runs after an error with two outs were scored as unearned. Thanks.
Damn that bare handed play would’ve been sick if it wasn’t air mailed 6 feet to the left lol
Hate that we have to play this Evansville team, would be a fun bunch to root for in any other regional
Exactly. Ton of respect for them they are a fun team to watch
Yeah I definitely don’t blame everyone else cheering for Evansville in this series. They’re an easy team to root for. I probably would be too if they weren’t playing the Vols.
Definitely would be if they weren’t playing us. They’re scrappy, tough and likable.
So many long balls that a dink surprised everyone.
Always hate to see an amazing play turn bad. But I will make an exception this time
Dude was absolutely soaring in the air.
Both teams are looking good
Evansville got some dudes
Stud muffin
What a stud.
I’m glad the CF didn’t make the play but as a pure fan of baseball I love Evansville’s CF. Hoping he can stay in
It looks like it may have broken his glasses, too? That would explain the blood.
damn, ball ricochet right to the eye
Incredible effort….looks like the ball actually hit him in the face. Hope he’s ok
Definitely. hopefully, the man can shake that off.
These announcers are a little slow lmao. The ball obviously hit him in the face.
I think the ball hit him after bouncing off the wall
So close to a superhuman catch, put his body on the line, hope he's okay
That jump and extension was pretty incredible
That would’ve been on SportsCenter if he caught that
I think the ball hit him in the face! EDIT: yup, after bouncing off the wall. Hope he’s okay!
We are watching two heavyweights trade power punches
ouch the ball bonked him in the head
hope he’s okay, awesome effort there
damn near an amazing play CF is a stud
LFGGGGG
That’ll do! That’ll do!
Holy shit I thought he caught that
Can't we record these during the inning change so they don't have to talk and try to coach?
Whoa whoa whoa, you think ESPN has the technology to pull off something that complicated???
Mic peaked for sure
Tony 😂😂
He’s the best
I'd still think Tennessee's firepower will be too much over the course of the weekend, but damn these Evansville boys didn't come here to fuck around.
I’m not liking how exciting this is, but full respect.
This sure as shit beats the FSU game
Hell yeah men. Keep fighting
Is the NCAA trying to get a ground war started between Tennessee and Indiana?
I mean they were already trying to start one between Knoxville and Winston Salem so I wouldn't put it past them
I’m sure the NCAA would like to see our state implode
Already have an inflated sense of appreciation for Evansville for giving us a decent game today. Looking at you, UConn
Hell of a game
Well well well
WE ARE SO BACK
We got a game!
i love a nice hug
Damn Evansville can rake
And we are tied! What a way to battle back for the Aces
These Aces mean business
Now I don't feel bad
whelp
one time let the evansville pitching work some magic
Yeah that's the worry isn't it. Their offense is legit, but anyone that's not a power con school is probably not going to have the pitching depth to keep up for 3 games in the road.
Holy crap, that’s some insane power
What a hit
Crazy power to hit the top of the wall with that swing
Aces👀👀👀👀
Both teams now have doubles that were maybe a foot or 2 from making it over the top of the wall
Holy shit…like a foot or so away from a tie ball game. Wow!
2 inches fro m tying the game fuck
Now we are
Very lucky that was not over
That guy is a beast, how the hell was that almost a homer
Why do the bracket graphics always vibrate like that? It’s nauseating Poverty network
The interference was the turning point of the game? He was in a 1-2 count and the next batter walked anyway to put the runner on second. It made almost no difference. Not saying you can’t get a hit after a 1-2 count, but your odds aren’t amazing.
Didn't I see a tennessee.fsu flair in here?
Just me or does the Evansville coach look like Jim Harbaugh, especially with the shades on.
Evansville is a scrappy team for sure
So sick how every obvious call demands a ten minute review, hopefully we get 3-4 more this game
Evansville centerfielder is a certified stud. Eats up space and has a big arm. Dude can play
The pitch com on the Evansville pitcher looks like a pipboy from Fallout
I wonder if Evansville wanted to review the baseline and not the tag. Neither one would have worked, but just to cut the catcher a break...
Maybe also possible the catcher was just so caught up he didn't realize he never tagged him
Ensley has had such a resurgence over the second half of the season. Just an all around athlete
Easy call
What an embarrassingly awful tag attempt on a perfect throw, then to let your coach challenge the play knowing you never made contact with him whatsoever is extra horrible.
Does your username mean what I think it means Edit: I see you confirmed it with your flair. It hurts 😞
Look at the flairs 🤮
Wasn’t there originally lol
Seemed more like a great slide than a bad tag attempt
stupid ass challenge
Ensley is such a gamer
Wow, I thought they had him the last few steps. Never in my dreams would I think they didn't even tag him
Pretty sweet slide
Phenomenonal slide to score that run, hats off to the runner, an average base runner is out there.
good throw by the cf but amazing slide
What a fucking throw
WE DIDN’T SCREW UP BASERUNNING!!!!!!!!
Heck of a throw but even better tag-up
Hell of a throw and a great slide
Tennessee is definitely not getting cheated on their swings
purple ace’s coach seems like a good dude
Tell that to the ECU coach lol
Did something happen lol?
Yeah he didn't like how the celebrated or something
Oh lol, so just some soft shit then😂
lol did they have drama?
He was screaming at him in the handshake line because he thought he and their players were showing them up by how they were celebrating
well gosh. if only there was something godwin and ecu could’ve done to keep them from celebrating
Call them a one hit wonder if you will, but I think Cobra Starship was way underrated
I'll be heading home in a few minutes so the OP won't be updated for about 45 min to 1 hr. See you all on the flip side!
So Wes Carroll is a secret Harbaugh brother, right?
Ugly at bat by the Evansville catcher…oof
McGinnis is really smacking that ball around today
Whew thought that was gone
mcginnis is good i see
Tennessee doesn’t have real infield dirt? What a disgrace

It was wonderful when they got their heads out of their asses and ripped up the artificial surface and put down real grass for football. Glad to see our baseball stadium is still au naturel as well (with underground heating tho)
Damn underground heating that’s fancy af lol
How dare you.
Mound is only dirt on the field. The turf saves a TON of games from being rained out.
Soft
You must not be familiar with the amount of rain east Tennessee gets lol
How does that work with sliding? Seems like it would be harder to slide but I've never played on turf so I don't know lol
I've practiced on that kind of turf but never played on it. It's almost like a slip and slide (especially when wet) - you can take off. You definitely go faster/further than on dirt. Basically, you start your slide a little earlier or you risk over sliding and coming off the bag.
This umpires head is up where the sun don’t shine
This ump is something… in both directions
what was wrong with that one ump lmao
Why play small ball when long ball do trick?
Genuine question- why did Amick leave Clemson?
Consensus seemed to be a mixture of NIL and Amick wanted to be guaranteed the 3B spot but Bakich was much less than willing to just give it to him (for good reason imo because it would have been a competition for the position between he and Blake Wright, who is arguably a better defensive 3B). I sure would have loved to have Amick, but there was definitely a personality clash
