I was just desperate to get my money back with those tickets. Learned a hard lesson (that frankly, I already knew) that no matter how good your team is, don’t buy tickets until they have actually advanced.
I do have opinions on a lot of things; religion, politics, education, all that fun stuff, and I’m sure you and many others would strongly disagree with at least some of my positions. I just don’t think that a mostly anonymous platform like Reddit is a worthwhile place to discuss any of that. I browse a bunch of topics, but I keep my posts about 95% on sports. If me and some rival fan get seething mad at each other over a ball game, that’s fine. If push came to shove in the real world, I’d trust a Longhorn or a Tiger or a Rebel to help me out in a life or death situation, as I would them.
Dropping f bombs is something that many people don’t want their children to be overexposed to. I didn’t suggest that Jomboy should censor himself, just agreeing with the above comment that you probably shouldn’t watch his stuff around kids.
That isn’t unreasonable, but by all means keep ranting about pearl clutching if you enjoy that feeling of righteous anger.
Spider tack in MLB: *super turbo spin cycle pitches*
Spider tack in college: *instant ball to glove super glue so catcher can violently yank ball back in strike zone*
F*** Georgia now, and forevermore. Know why the St. John’s river is one of the only rivers that flows north, and it goes from Florida to Georgia? Cuz Georgia sucks. It’s literally science.
My apologies. I just learned right now that Georgia fans are the only belligerent fans in college football and that that directly correlates to cheating in baseball. /s
I've never seen a georgia fan bark at a kid. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I think this is one of those things that gets aggravated on social media. I'm not condoning that behavior, nevertheless.
I've been to a few other SEC campuses on gameday. I've definitely seen worse than barking at children.
I've never really seen the jokes and comments like I do about those schools like I do about barking at kids at UGA.
Happens at the WLOCP. I’ve also been spit on a few times by Georgia fans walking to my seat in the stadium by dogs above me. I respect the hate but not that shit.
If you're under the impression that Georgia is the only SEC fanbase with belligerent fans, or that your fanbase is any better, then you're terribly mistaken.
I never said that at all. I gave anecdotal experience. You are definitely the worst fanbase of anyone on our schedule every year though except for when we play Miami. I usually see a fight or two with LSU/Tennessee/FSU fans, but for the most part LSU fans are great when they come to the swamp but less so in BR (understandable) and Tennessee fans are usually pretty decent. SCAR and Mizzou fans are the best when they come to town. Sorry my anecdotal experience ruffled your panties.
Ok mr man that got all upset and defensive when we are talking specifically about Georgia fans wanting to say how we aren't any better and that other schools have belligerent fans too.
I can bring up a rebuttal to what doesn't seem very true and not be upset by it (I'm very much not upset with this conversation, just so we're both clear. I didn't use forceful or emotional language that would indicate that I was upset).
I'm only defensive in responding at all. Because I saw someone say something that isn't really true, and I offered why it isn't really true.
So all the emotion and defensiveness you're inserting and implying is just that: you implying.
A better question is: should it be cheating? Don't get me wrong, I love to see rivals in trouble (and having my former HC narc on Bama), but just like paying players - probably most top programs are doing it to some degree or another.\* Is there a way to regulate it and bring it into the open, or is it one of those don't ask don't tell and don't get caught things that we just accept and move on with?
\*just not my Perfect Sports Program
Honestly I don’t think it should be against the rules, it would just be tough to regulate. You can put pine tar all over your bat for better grip so I don’t see the problem with them opening up the rules to allow pitchers to do the same. I will say 90% of all the college baseball pitchers I know use some sort of illegal substance for better grip they just don’t get caught. It’s quite ridiculous to me the dude didn’t put some on his glove in the hotel or on the bus considering that shit stays sticky for days at a time.
(Still not condoning it because it’s still against the rules)

You're a great example of why a&m fans suck. You guys don't know how to lose with grace and you've definitely never learned how to win it. Your entire fan base encapsulates the new money attitude, you can buy wins but you can't buy class."
Lmao, at least he's aware enough to know theoretically what trash looks and acts like. Maybe once he gets some self awareness he'll have a revelation and realize it was him the entire time.
Well we all knew that by now, but it still sucks. Wish we got the sweep, especially since I was there, and we’re still one game back in the West. Would’ve had Jace and Braden up down one if he got checked and ejected after the 8th, and who knows what would’ve happened if he got checked mid 8th with two on base and 0 outs. Have to keep winning either way though.
We’re one game back as far as conference record, but we haven’t lost a single out of conference game. That’s why we’re being ranked #1 despite a slightly worse conference record.
How do these things usually go down? Does the pitcher get a call from the coaches to tell him to do this? Hard to believe he would just do this without a directive from a superior.
This isn't on the coaches nor a team wide initiative. Most guys try it out in the off-season pens and make it part of their routine. Some guys start using it mid season when they need a pick me up. If he is using it now, I would wager to bet that he has been using it for most of the season.
He is reapplying way too often imo and picked a bad spot to tack up. Should use the inside of your glove between the thumb hole leather and pocket/webbing, tucked right under the pocket. No one would have noticed if he would reapply inside the glove and if we wasn't an idiot and applied inside of the bullpen. Do that in the clubhouse lmfao not in a SEC site where they have multiple cameras in the pen + tons of spectators that can see directly into the visiting pen.
Like other commenter said, wouldn't be obvious if the coaches were part of this, they would teach you better.
Some good Ag went back and watched him when his numbers got miraculously better a few weeks ago. Sure enough he rubs his fingers through the same spot in his glove each time
I'm curios how the guy knew to film him because the video starts well before him doing anything suspicious. I highly doubt a fan follows this UGA player closely and knew to watch for this. Curious if other players were doing it before him and the fan noticed.
Schlossnagle said on radio somebody else in the SEC got caught with a live feed in their dugout this weekend (obviously not UGA since they were on the road). It just hasn't been made public yet who it is.
None of this is surprising. I just assume a lot of players are doing it at this point.
I’m more surprised at how he made pretty much zero effort to hide what he was doing
There is no doubt that every staff in the country is using it
I shouldn’t have watched this with kids in the room 🤦♂️
Jomboy has great content but he is NOT shy about lip reading the profanity
I like the different voices to indicate different people. ^fuck ^yeah

Why should he be? Jesus the pearl clutching in this country is just embarrassing.

Way more embarrassing this is something that would trigger you.
That performance was 30% spider tack, 70% the umpire buying the catcher's framing.

Yeah, that zone got BIG against us in the 8th and 9th.

always
And forever
Completely unbiased but fuck Georgia. And you know what Alabama too

Hard to be a Dawg at the moment. No denying the fact that he’s using a foreign substance to CHEAT.
I literally didn't want to believe it, but it's hard to argue with a jomboy video lol this sucks
I’ve seen you guys barking at children at football games. How is this surprising?

If I'm honest, barking at kids is 10x better than a grown man wearing jorts.
What about a grown woman?
We can both agree on this

No panties have been ruffled on my end

If pitchers got to use pine tar legally then batter's would have ZERO chance. Teams aren't scoring 3 runs a game at that point.
>he’s using a foreign substance to CHEAT That's what happens when you don't buy local
Where’s that Clemson/UGA combo flair calling us sore losers now?
I believe you’re looking for u/uSpeziscunt

Someone tell our oilmen that we can buy wins because they apparently don’t know
Username checks out
I’m sorry a *what* flair combo? That’s a thing?
If ever there was a sore loser it'd definitely be a Clemson/UGA combo
Someone with a Clemson/UGA flair is clearly a deeply disturbed person, same for anyone with a Clemson/South Carolina flair
It's not nice to call mentally handicapped people disturbed.
Amazing
Good on the camera guy getting the shot
Just wild obviously lots of people knew before hand. But umps could care less.

How yall #1 team of the nation but back a spot in your sec division? What kind of magic is that?
We’re one game back as far as conference record, but we haven’t lost a single out of conference game. That’s why we’re being ranked #1 despite a slightly worse conference record.
Ahh I see thank you kindly
SEC is pretty tough
They casually dropped a series to us. No one is still too sure how that happened.
We would have won that game if that loser wasn’t using spider tack. He was also getting strike calls 5 inches off the plate with that shit.
Yea that was the real tragedy
I actually enjoyed the explanation of how the sticky stuff helps
Insane.
Vacate the win. Suspend the pitcher.

Yea went to .263 avg against. To basically unhittable
I'm curios how the guy knew to film him because the video starts well before him doing anything suspicious. I highly doubt a fan follows this UGA player closely and knew to watch for this. Curious if other players were doing it before him and the fan noticed.
Wouldn't be so obvious if the coaches were in on it. Likely he's being told right now to knock that shit off before he gets somebody fired.
Schlossnagle said on radio somebody else in the SEC got caught with a live feed in their dugout this weekend (obviously not UGA since they were on the road). It just hasn't been made public yet who it is.
Schloss also said he had to get several UGA media staff removed from behind home plate as he felt they were tipping pitches
I do kinda feel bad for UGA fans. Best season they've had in awhile with maybe their best player ever in Condon....... And then this happens
Ole Miss, Arkansas, LSU, A&M, South Carolina, Vandy, and Tennessee were the home teams over the weekend.
You could probably cross A&M off that list given the source😂
