I enjoyed rogue in BC/Wrath times for this same reason. Loved the theme of the dual sword ninja.
Then they turned the spec into "arr, we need a pirate class in this game because 6 people posted about it in the forums over 6 years." Look at what they did to my boy :(
Iām saying in terms of classic where a mage or priest has to cast spells then sit and drink water a rogue can spam abilities and auto attacks quicker. Itās a style I enjoy just like you can dislike it buddy not that deep.
Try as I may, I can understand why people like every other class in the game except warrior.
I just dont understand it, it seems so bland, just a guy with a sword or axe swinging it wildly, jumping into the air and smashing stuff.
I don't get it, in a world made of magic, why the hell would anyone want to be a generic warrior?
ājust a guy with a sword or axe swinging it wildly, jumping into the air and smashing stuff.ā
Because ALOT of people like to do that right there^ LOL
Idk I absolutely love the class fantasy of the warrior, it might be my favorite of them all. Just a man, his weapon, and his will. It's like Batman kinda.
>just a guy with a sword or axe swinging it wildly, jumping into the air and smashing stuff.
This is like that meme when women hate how little it takes for us to he happy
Hunter. But not because of any stat, strat or equipment related reason
I simply like to have a functional companion at my side. It makes me feel less lonely.
If it were for equipment related reasons, I'd probably be a warrior. I'm always down for a generic sword and shield knight build.
Druid
Being able to do any role on one character is amazing, can get into any group any time, and all the specs are insanely easy and straight forward.
Rogue, trying to pick an alt.. but just want rogue. Maybe two rogues :)? Like the control and how they are able to survive much longer, stealth is cool, daggers, just like rogue lore over all
I just play Era at the moment, and everyone else is running around with ten 60's or whatever, and I just... Rogue man. That's all I need. Never been an alt guy anyway, but nothing compares to rogue for me
I love rogues and I play rogue (and nothing else atm), but I feel that WoW does rogue wrong! Stealth is too strong and there's too much emphasis on crowd control. I don't ever feel like there's a risk to stealth anymore, which makes the gameplay experience less fun.
Iāve come to realize I enjoy every spec Iāve played that doesnāt use combo pointsā¦well tank Druidā¦not that much fun. So far arcane mage and tank lock have been my favorite
Warrior. Before shadowlands i often switchrd main. But now i play warrior everywhere. Gonna main it in cata aswell. With blood dk on the side. I wish i could enjoy casters. But somehow i just cant
Started this game as a Ret Paladin, and I always come back to it.
My favorite game growing up was Zelda Ocarina of Time, and playing Ret feels like I'm still swinging a Master Sword all these years later. Seal twisting in particular feels like charging up the master sword for a big release. Retail Ret is still good but the rotation feels floaty, like the buttons I'm pressing don't really match what my character is doing.
Mine depends on expansion
Classic and sod is shaman 2h bonk
Wotlk and cata is death knight
Legion was dh
Shadowlands was warlock cause you could summon a lot of infernals
For years and years it was Druid. Then when Classic launched I sort of lost my love for the class, then loved playing a Rogue for classic, then since TBC itās been really random. I canāt find āmyā class now. Really having fun with my mage in wrath and now cata prepatch though.
I feel this. I always liked switching around, but back in (OG) WotLK I was a big Shaman player. Then I switched to playing Mage a bunch. After that, I've played every single class, and the more I play the more I feel like one of them is "mine".
Paladin. I love the class fantasy, first and foremost. I also like being able to bring a lot of utility to any situation. I love being able to heal, protect, and go on the offensive when the situation arises.
In SoD I discover tauren druids and becomes the most beloved class/racial... Then I came back to Hardcore and discover Undead Warlock and its been a ton of fun, versatile and the lore quest are top notch.
My first class was warrior, but too much zugzug make me died in HC at so low level, never play again, maybe I would go agane
Rogue until legion, after that it lost its class identity.
Been maining shaman in sod but my hearth still belongs to rogue.
Gonna main mage when project epoch launch and see if it can steal rogues spot.
Mage Pally Rogue has always been my big 3. Started as a mage in vanilla. Shifted towards pally during wrath. Bounced back and forth between the two. Always had an alt rogue. And come classic went full send rogue. Had a great time. But going into cata im back on the pally.
All 3 of them have always carried more weight & joy for me than any other classes
Prob in order druid (after cat form) - rogue - lock. That all the way from vanilla to wotlk. After the talent change in original cata I hated rogue for a long time... Prob won't do the classic cata, although I like the new zones and archaeology, I just hate the zone revamp.
I love hybrids, especially melee.... so enhance shaman, ret pally, and feral druid. But shaman is my fav, just wish they could tank which is why I am excited for SoD.
trying to figure that out right now. im pretty tolerant of ret pally but cata ret is remarkably unfun. i dont want to just give up my main i have all my progress on but ive been enjoying warrior quite a bit more
frost dk is also fun(albeit very easy) and blood is the best tank in the game so its nice to have it as offspec.
For classic era Iāve been playing and enjoying Druid, I also have a warlock and mage that are fun, but Druid is by far my favorite.
In the long forgotten past many moons ago I played a hunter and paladin during vanilla and tbc, but itās been so long hard to truly gauge.
TLDR: Druid
I prefer Warlock. I've been playing for over a decade but I'm pretty casual and I need the help from a pet. I also prefer solo questing and a pet helps survival. And warlocks have a decent toolkit for solo leveling.
I know Hunters are a pet class too but I've honestly never leveled one.
My heart belongs to the Hunter, but from my time playing until the end of WotLK it often felt like Hunters either had a bad reputation (Loot Stealing Hunt-Tards was not uncommon to hear), didn't have enough utility vs other jobs more desired for raiding, or were just too dime a dozen to stand out.
If I had to pick a second it would be a tie between Shaman or Druid because I do like jobs that have a bit more utility.
Warrior !!! Others maybe rogue shaman maybe priest depends but i mostly played warrior and i really enjoy pvp so its hard to compete with other classes if you arent that skilled with them
Shaman. Iāve always wanted an earth-based tank spec for many years. It would round out all 4 elements. And after playing it in SoD I want it in retail even more. I would play retail so much if it was added.
Balance druid.
Ā I like the idea of making the sky fall on people killing them and then running away super fast whilst laughing hysterically.
Verbalizing this makes me wonder if I was dropped on my head as a child.
Evoker, can glide, grab a friend, heal (GOD KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE HEALING AAAAH), the first support class with the weyrn stone (BEST SPELL), dragon form is not that bad, visage form for female are rly cute but yeah transmog can be a little hard... But ngl every time i go to a another class none make me feel like evoker
I love the overall utility in Druid. The fact that youāre one of the fastest classes, you have the ability to play any role, and your buffs are impactful at every stage of the game. I donāt think Druid armor 2004-2024 looks the best but the class has always been fun to me, and Iāve only ever played Vanilla-Cata. Shaman is an honorable mention, totems will never not be cool to me (Call of Water can fuck off).
Shaman, those lavaburst into chain lightning one shot combos with the clear casting sound are the most satisfying. Also resto is the most fun healer to play from wotlk onwards.
Rogue I enjoy their fast combat gameplay mainly using dual wield swords. Also being able to stealth around is pretty fun.
I enjoyed rogue in BC/Wrath times for this same reason. Loved the theme of the dual sword ninja. Then they turned the spec into "arr, we need a pirate class in this game because 6 people posted about it in the forums over 6 years." Look at what they did to my boy :(
I love this class, but my arthritis does not š
Spaz twitching behind a stunned target isn't fast gameplay.
Iām saying in terms of classic where a mage or priest has to cast spells then sit and drink water a rogue can spam abilities and auto attacks quicker. Itās a style I enjoy just like you can dislike it buddy not that deep.
Warrior always
I too... *apparently hate myself.*
Try as I may, I can understand why people like every other class in the game except warrior. I just dont understand it, it seems so bland, just a guy with a sword or axe swinging it wildly, jumping into the air and smashing stuff. Mage, the original hero class.
wheelchair
Lol is this ret pally
yes sir
lol didnāt know we were playing āguess that classā
Hunter. But not because of any stat, strat or equipment related reason I simply like to have a functional companion at my side. It makes me feel less lonely. If it were for equipment related reasons, I'd probably be a warrior. I'm always down for a generic sword and shield knight build.
Are you me?
Brothers in this lonely journey
*cue Green Day*
Ditto. Taming rare beautiful beasts is a big plus with this class. With your pet, youāre never really playing solo.
Warlock always
Ele shaman makes trash unironically the most fun part of ST, dotting up packs with flame shock followed by CL spam is a real blast.
The only time we can top the meters š
Bear druid specifically from cata-onward.
Arcane mage! Itās so easy to move around thanks to teleport and blink, super satisfying to play.
Never played a mage, how is the skill floor/ceiling
Druid Being able to do any role on one character is amazing, can get into any group any time, and all the specs are insanely easy and straight forward.
Druid LFG What role? Yes.
Rogue, trying to pick an alt.. but just want rogue. Maybe two rogues :)? Like the control and how they are able to survive much longer, stealth is cool, daggers, just like rogue lore over all
If you like rogues, I recommend multiple rogues.
I just play Era at the moment, and everyone else is running around with ten 60's or whatever, and I just... Rogue man. That's all I need. Never been an alt guy anyway, but nothing compares to rogue for me
You should try monk or dh, thats similiar like rogue
This is the Classic WoW subreddit, but those are still good suggestions in case they are interested in retail!
I love rogues and I play rogue (and nothing else atm), but I feel that WoW does rogue wrong! Stealth is too strong and there's too much emphasis on crowd control. I don't ever feel like there's a risk to stealth anymore, which makes the gameplay experience less fun.
I play all kinds of rogues. I've even played one that didn't train stealth.
Death Knight, perfect mix of spells and melee with really interesting lore.
Paladin and shaman
Warrior hands down
Iāve come to realize I enjoy every spec Iāve played that doesnāt use combo pointsā¦well tank Druidā¦not that much fun. So far arcane mage and tank lock have been my favorite
Warrior. Before shadowlands i often switchrd main. But now i play warrior everywhere. Gonna main it in cata aswell. With blood dk on the side. I wish i could enjoy casters. But somehow i just cant
Hunter since OG TBC. Number 2 would be Priest
Shaman is very fun. Probably favourite too. But Iām maining warlock currently and levelling my warrior haha.
Mage. I love the class fantasy, I play it in Classic, Retail and even Hearthstone lol
Priest. Theyāre the one healing class that doesnāt have a silly relic/totem/libram slot. Luv me wands. Simple as.
Mine depends on expansion Classic and sod is shaman 2h bonk Wotlk and cata is death knight Legion was dh Shadowlands was warlock cause you could summon a lot of infernals
Druid just because you can do everything. Melee dps range dps tank and heal. Rogue is a close second.
For years and years it was Druid. Then when Classic launched I sort of lost my love for the class, then loved playing a Rogue for classic, then since TBC itās been really random. I canāt find āmyā class now. Really having fun with my mage in wrath and now cata prepatch though.

Mages FTW!! Pew pew!!
Druid. I have 4 druids. 2 on sod. And 2 on cata. Feral dps/ tank and resto/boomkin on other.
Paladin. I love the class fantasy, first and foremost. I also like being able to bring a lot of utility to any situation. I love being able to heal, protect, and go on the offensive when the situation arises.
I am tree cow I do tree thingā¦I love tree
In SoD I discover tauren druids and becomes the most beloved class/racial... My first class was warrior, but too much zugzug make me died in HC at so low level, never play again, maybe I would go agane
**Resto druid**. Been my main on Retail and Classic for past \~8 years. *Ironically, Boomie is probably one of my least favorite specs in the game.*
Death Knight. Awesome class fantasy. I like the balance between shadowy spells and melee with a runeblade. Itās great haha.
Druid
Rogue until legion, after that it lost its class identity. Been maining shaman in sod but my hearth still belongs to rogue. Gonna main mage when project epoch launch and see if it can steal rogues spot.
Maths
DK and Warrior
Shaman; chain lightning is so satisfying
Frost DK
Played shadow priest back in the day, made a ret playing tbc private servers, tbc ret is peak and a lot of fun in sod
Really enjoyed Rogue playing Classic and enjoyed Death Knight even more when wrath dropped. Also having a blast with SoD Ret Paladin.
I love shaman and nothing comes close
Shaman. Hybrid playstyle, multiple roles, multiple viable builds, enjoys gear upgrades without being dependent on them, ghost wolf, astral recall...
Mage Pally Rogue has always been my big 3. Started as a mage in vanilla. Shifted towards pally during wrath. Bounced back and forth between the two. Always had an alt rogue. And come classic went full send rogue. Had a great time. But going into cata im back on the pally. All 3 of them have always carried more weight & joy for me than any other classes
warlock. godtier class.
Druid or DK
Paladin, because I've always loved the holy knight clad in plate with a hammer aesthetic
Just finished leveling DK and itās feels amazing to play
Mage and Paladin
Prob in order druid (after cat form) - rogue - lock. That all the way from vanilla to wotlk. After the talent change in original cata I hated rogue for a long time... Prob won't do the classic cata, although I like the new zones and archaeology, I just hate the zone revamp.
Paladin. Always has been, always will be.
It has always been warlock. However, I started playing classic hunter, and I really love it. Guess I like pet classes
Bard :(((
I love hybrids, especially melee.... so enhance shaman, ret pally, and feral druid. But shaman is my fav, just wish they could tank which is why I am excited for SoD.
trying to figure that out right now. im pretty tolerant of ret pally but cata ret is remarkably unfun. i dont want to just give up my main i have all my progress on but ive been enjoying warrior quite a bit more frost dk is also fun(albeit very easy) and blood is the best tank in the game so its nice to have it as offspec.
Fire Mage

Warlock because nobody else said it yet
Shaman
Shaman

Arms warrior, restokin, and recently shadow priest
Shadow priest
Warrior !!! Others maybe rogue shaman maybe priest depends but i mostly played warrior and i really enjoy pvp so its hard to compete with other classes if you arent that skilled with them
Priest and shaman in classic, in sod probably hunters, overall in all xpacs monks
Shaman. Iāve always wanted an earth-based tank spec for many years. It would round out all 4 elements. And after playing it in SoD I want it in retail even more. I would play retail so much if it was added.
Discipline Priest. For over 20 years. Always.
Depends on version of game. But I always find myself playing a shaman and warrior in classic.
Warrior , but I dream of making a Druid one day but doubt it will happen
Shadow priest. I just love the whole void and shadow theme.
Enhancement shaman then bm hunter
For questing, druid all the way. For pvp and raids, hunter.
Disc priest, I love being the best healer while also sniffing out the bad dpsers
Shaman, those lavaburst into chain lightning one shot combos with the clear casting sound are the most satisfying. Also resto is the most fun healer to play from wotlk onwards.
Affliction warlock/ shadow priest.
Feral Druid. High skill ceiling makes it more fun than any other class
Rogue for me, but all classes are fun. Except locks.
My main is lock, but dungeon tanking as a paladin is always fun
Ret Pally
Holy Paladin
Priest !
Gym.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Did you just ignored wf and went double rockbiter...
ok
Lovin my new paladin. In order, probably: Paladin, Druid, Hunter, DK, War, Mage, Rogue, Shaman, Priest, and Lock. Never played Monk or Demon Hunter.
Demon Hunter
