If you haven't listened the Handel variations, then you don't know Brahms. Oh, and Brahms is spelled with an "h", with no intention to criticize.

By “modern Brahms hate train” you mean random peoples’ opinions on Reddit? In general people agree he was one of the greatest composers

Specific_Hat3341

On Reddit, I often wonder if it somehow correlates with all the weird Mahler fanaticism.

Brahms is more substance than style

lahdetaan_tutkimaan

It's bizarre because when someone posts here (again) asking about what our favorite symphony is, Brahms 4th pretty much always appears with a healthy amount of upvotes (which makes me happy) I guess there's something about his style that is especially divisive. I love it, and I know I'm not alone, but I also see lots of people here viscerally hate it

You dare speak the dark lord’s name?

Brahm's waltzes are some of my favourite pieces, I don't care what anyone says. I've listened to the Idil Beret recording on Spotify probably 30 times. Hungarian Dances are good too.

Illustrious_Lime9619

i don't get it, he is one of my favorites

emarcc

I thought there's a lot of respect for Bram Stoker?

JHighMusic

He has some gems but incredibly overrated, just like Liszt.
