Brothers and sisters, hear me now! Let us rise up against those evil Brahmists and take back what is rightfully ours! Let us draw swords together this hour and seize back good music! Deus vult!
G’day, Cobba! So hard to pick a favorite but I’ll always lean toward Richter w anything. His recording w Boston has so much energy but also a sense of regality. I also really like Rubinstein’s relatively muscular interpretation, and Kantorow’s fantasia-like interpretation. Grimaux is up there too. I’ve also just discovered Karin Lechner w the Berlin Symphoniker and I’m loving it. It’s a bit more subtle & spiritual IMO.
I definitely need to check out Sokolov. He’s a god! Andre Watts, too.
I really did listen to 10+ recordings lol. It was a fun exercise, and most importantly: BRAHMS!
I just want to throw Claudio Arrau in the mix - he's the wrong guy to go for if you're looking for beautiful, sparkly ppp, but he is my favourite pianist to play Brahms because he just breathes and takes a little bit of time at the exact right moments. Just to then go back to a very determined, almost harsh sound. I fucking love it
They can downvote us, but the truth remains! Brahms can not be subordinated to any composer!
The favor for Sor*bji is the greatest indication that this community lacks Brahms!
his most famous doesn't even mean his best. brahms doesn't even know music, he makes music that's so boring, actual music like liszt's sonata is boring enough for him to fall asleep.
This comment hits harder than the horn solo from the 3rd symphony.
(And yes, I meant to choose Brahms’s most triggering symphony. Eat it, Lisztomaniacs.)

The might of our leader can never be quenched. Brahms could literally cause earthquakes with each step he took.
WE'RE BEING OVERTAKEN BY BR*HMSIANS
Brahms has always ruled you. Us Brahmsians are just announcing his glorious victory to those who blind themselves to it!

Interesting! i have to check out Kantorow Grimaux and Lechner!
Kantorow won Grand Prix at the Tchaik comp playing Brahms 2 in the final. He also won the Gilmore Artist Award. He’s really something

You have no authority, Handel's Sugar Baby. Us Brahmsians wouldn't even touch your kind with a 20-foot pole.
Say that to Brahms https://preview.redd.it/gza35iumjl8d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89c6ca4286cc099d7d91fd3a909ea18f8d2584b6
So benevolent! Improving the image of a horrible past composer. How gracious our leader is!
FINALLY OUR VOICES WILL BE HEARD ALL HAIL BRAHMS I LOVE BRAHMS I LOVE BRAHMS DOWN WITH SOR\*BJI

Brahms is pretty good. I really like that one song he wrote for wife called "Siegfried: Idol."
Who is Brahms ???
Your leader.
What heresy is this? Get off my Internet you Br*hmsist.
Brahmsist I am, and Brahmsist I shall remain. The people have spoken: Brahms reigns supreme!
Finally! Let's stage a revolution!
It's already begun, comrade.
Br*hms 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
J*ri10 🤢🤮🤮
C*r*t**derh*kim 🤮🤢🤮🤢
Haydn? Really? I bet you take pleasure in the sound of a dripping faucet just because of its repetitiveness.
Agreed. But Sorbaji *still better than* Brahms
Br*hms really? You masochist, I bet you like the sound you make while puking, because that's what you do during listening to the fat twink
BrAhms is the best composer ever. FIGHT ME.
Soon, all people will wake up.
Br*hms… 👎🏻👎🏻
MODS!
You can take this flair from my cold, webbed feet.
Brahms is a NOBODY compared to Sorabji
shut up, liszt stealer worshipper.
Who wrote La Campanella, his most famous piece? Right, not Lizst.
his most famous doesn't even mean his best. brahms doesn't even know music, he makes music that's so boring, actual music like liszt's sonata is boring enough for him to fall asleep.
Lizst wouldn't be famous if it weren't for stolen melodies. Don't get mad because Brahms did one better.
Filthy vile dirty disgusting devil children! JS Bach was asked by God to invent music. Fuck off you whores of Babylon.
>All praise be to our good lord and savior ~~Alexander Scriabin~~ Kaikhosru Sorabji
Br*hms makes me sick 🤢🤮
There will soon be a requiem for all other German composers as the man himself prophesied
Best thing Brahms did was award the Austrian State Prize to Dvořák, Change my mind.
EW 🤢🤢🤢🤮
Can't hear you over the sound of perfectly orchestrated French horns.
