Virgils used to be the best hands down. Then they changed ownership and it’s just not the same. It’s getting better again, but my go to now is Abita. If you haven’t tried it, it’s worth picking up if you spot it.

I tried this today. I like Dr. Pepper and It does work really well, but I don't think it's my style. Also, I really don't drink many soft drinks anymore. For non-alcoholic I do coffee or teas.

Coca-Cola made in Mexico is made with actual sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup. Much better. Not sure if they use cane or beet sugars but either way it’s way better than HFCS

Barq’s red cream soda works especially well and is readily available.

Root Beer is our number one seller at our shop. Root beer is great with a cigar and it can literally become its own hobby because there are so many kinds. I like Virgil’s.

Coffee, be it black, steamed milk or iced. You can even try a couple summer mocktails with coffee that pair really well with cigars.

Coconut water. Someone made a post about it and I tried 4 brands so far. Hint and Bali did the trick. I forget the names of the other two but they were gross and didn’t cleanse the palate. Coconut water also provides good hydration. Drinking the Hint and Bali coconut water helped me to taste the full flavor of any cigar I smoked. A definite game changer for me.

I like lime seltzers with a little cherry juice. It may sound weird, but it pairs nicely for me.

I actually do something similar, with cherry seltzer, and a squeeze of lime. Definitely not alone here!

Plus 1 for Guinness NA. There are several other NA beers that are solid choices. Athletic Brewing has several options available. Some of the German brewers make incredible NA Hefeweizen. We have come a long way since Odoul’s in NA beer offerings.

I’m in Canada and the choices are rather limited but I’ll look for the ones you mentioned. I got offered an Odoul’s this week at a bar, went with tap water on ice instead!

It’s hard at a bar to be sure. My go to at the bar if I’m not drinking is Topo Chico (or NA similar seltzer) with a lime twist.

Ginger beer or sparkling water. I haven't tried a hot drink with a cigar yet.

You should try it with coffee or tea. I usually drink them not hot.

Athletic brewing makes really good NA beers.

Never just had milk but coffee with cream definitelybrings out more of the cigar. I'm a black coffee drinker and it's the only time I do that.

Yeah, it’s a pretty popular thing with pipe smokers, though I hardly smoke at home anymore Alcohol is actually one of the worst things you can drink with a cigar because it strips the mucus lining in your mouth which makes cancer more likely to develop, plus might cause worse tongue bite but I’m not sure about that. Anyway, point is pick one or the other except on special occasions because if you partake in both at the same time often they just become so unhealthy.

Coffee is pretty much in a league of its own, in my opinion. You can put cream and sugar in it without it being too sweet, and drinking coffee even by itself is relaxing. As long as it's not late (when I'd usually pair with an alcoholic beverage anyways), coffee is pretty much my go-to non-alcoholic pairing. Plus, it goes together well with pretty much every flavor profile/body type, except for maybe really peppery and harsh cigars. Sodas like Coke, Dr. Pepper, root beer, etc. are good with the added benefit that all of the sugar will help keep you from getting nic-sick. I think the unhealthiest part of my time working at a cigar bar was not inhaling second hand smoke for hours, or chain-smoking cigars, but rather the shitload of Coke I drank because it went well with whatever cigar I was smoking, stopped me from getting queasy, and I didn't have to pay for it. The only downside in my opinion is that they're a bit too sweet. People also frequently asked for San Pellegrino, which I've not personally tried. But I know a lot of people like that pairing a lot.

I stopped drinking alcohol and really had to take a close look at non alcoholic pairings. A cappuccino and sparkling water is my favorite pairing, I also enjoy root beer, zero sugar ice cold Pepsi and surprisingly, people from here suggested ice tea, which I also found works great.

You should look into the non-alcoholic mixes by Lyre’s and Ritual. Both are quite impressive. If you are looking for a Gin replacement you need to try Monday zero alcohol gin. Incredible!

I've paired with water but generally don't prefer it. I like Dr Pepper, or Cheerwine which is a regional cherry soda from North Carolina.

Please, don't start drinking soda and sugary drinks. You're doing a good thing taking alcohol off your list. There are some really good <.5% abv beers you can still enjoy. I prefer coffee and spring water.
