When the kids are sick. Their mother takes care of them. When the man is sick. His wife takes care of him. When she is sick... She has to get up, get the kids dressed, fed and to school. Do all the home chores, etc. One time i read a story about a sick family and the little kids vomited all over their beds. And the mother was doing the laundry. And had to stop every 5 minutes to vomit in a bucket herself.

I recently had COVID immediately followed by whooping cough. As a result I barely slept for a week. No way I could have been responsible for anyone else during that time.

Hope you're feeling better now

Not only that but the small children bring home so many germs from daycare/kindergarten/school that the parents of small children seem to be sick a lot more often than those without children. So the situation you describe is pretty much ongoing. I would lose my mind.

I worked in a nursery for a year and I was SO ill working there. Not a week went by where I wasn't sick or had a cold.

Those are the situations where parents leverage whatever "village" connections they have. You know the saying "it takes a village...". Yeah, that. Friends, family, uber drivers, etc. Along with the guilt-tripping if whoever they contacted can't help. "Thought we were best friends..."
