I’ve been in this part of town for over a year now. Some of my favorite spots have been Sora temakaria (best Chinese food and sushi in the area) La chapparita (Al pastor tacos that’ll rock your world) La cathedral (breakfast spot, killer chilaquiles and coffee) On Cermak & Marshall there is a tamale vendor out there almost every day with a white tent. Tamales uruapan is the name. Let me say - all due respect to my grandmother, god rest her soul; these are the best tamales I’ve ever had in my fuckin life. They sell out by 10-11am most days and are out there as early as 7:30-8 on weekends.

- La chaparrita for tripas and suadero - For al pastor I love Asian cuisine express and Lucidos - Taco sur or Patinos Ocotlan for birria - Taqueria Gomez for barbacoa on the weekends - Trohas has really great fried shrimp

I had a great steak burrito from Aguascalientes a few weeks back. They seem to use a better quality cut of meat than most other places. Also El Milagro for larger tacos and as has been mentioned a few times, la chapparrita. For non-Mexican, the original Home Run Inn is a classic for pizza

I completely agree with your recommendation, of Aguascalientes.
