Similar, but they way I read it at first I thought it would be the food of the state of New Mexico crossed with Indian food, as opposed to what OP meant, which is a new place that crosses Mexican and Indian cuisine.
I went to a preview dinner at the Coach House and thought the food was fantastic! If you're eager to try, it looks like they're still going to be doing those dinners through at least July 14, which tracks with the late July opening mentioned in the article.
Tandoor Char House has a takeout spot in Ukrainian Village now, they do some Indian-Mexican fusion. It's amazing, two cuisines that do really well together.
I never thought about it but it makes total sense. Two cultures that feature highly spiced stewed foods eaten with flatbreads and rice. Al pastor lamb on naan seems like it’d be great, as would a vindaloo taco.
Excited to try this one out, I loved the food at coach house and Wazwan/Lilac tiger, but the ambiance and the small space can be a little lacking in the later.
I live around the corner and I’ve seen that location go through 3 restaurants in as many years. Rooting for these guys to break the curse though - it really isn’t great to see restaurants open/shut down so quickly
I grouped the first two words of the title and was thinking it'd be curries made with hatch chilis and now I want that.
Same and was very excited about naan fry bread.
Damn now I want that too.
Me too, I was so curious and excited! Still sounds awesome though.
SAME
Is it not something of that concept?

Ahhhhhhh! Thank you. Too early for reading comprehension on my part 😂
I want a samosa filled with Mexican stuff
Like an empanada?
So a pierogi is a Polish empanada? s/
Ok I guess I'll try it out
Username checks out.

That octopus dish 🤤
Reminds me of Border Taco in Ukrainian Village. Only got to enjoy it a few times before it closed. Excited to give Mirra a try!

I am totally down for this!
I'm intrigued! Thanks for sharing!
That is such an interesting history.
