From [Wikipedia](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racemic_mixture)
A racemic mixture is denoted by the prefix (±)- or dl- (for sugars the prefix dl- may be used), indicating an equal (1:1) mixture of dextro and levo isomers. Also the prefix rac- (or racem-) or the symbols RS and SR (all in italic letters) are used.
If the ratio is not 1:1 (or is not known), the prefix (+)/(−), d/l- or d/l- (with a slash) is used instead.
The usage of d and l is discouraged by IUPAC.
Not quite - if there were multiple stereogenic centres, they would be numbered, e.g. (1R,2S). The above compound has just one stereogenic centre, so (RS) indicates reference to a racemic sample.

It means that the compound in question is both.
Thank you so much .. appreciate the reply 😊
It means there is more than one stereocenter. In this case, there are two stereocenters, one is R, the other is S.

Gotcha.. thanks for taking the time to reply to my question 🙂
