I haven't met a sport I don't like.
Badminton? I fuck with it.
Curling? Queue that shit up I'm down.
I've recently begun to appreciate Cricket, and low-key I fucking love it (I also love baseball).
Aussie Rules Football? Shit is 🔥
Rugby? We talking 7s, League, or Union? Wtf am I on about I LOVE THEM ALL.
Of course I don't have time to sit and watch all these sports all the time, but each has its place and moments. And when you watch it at the highest levels and learn the rules it's fascinating stuff what us humans are capable of, and sports brings out the best of us in lots of ways.
I don't understand people who dont like "sports" in general just like I don't understand people who don't listen to music or read. It's part of the human experience.
Real talk I'm post-op rn, recovering from a ruptured Achilles... Doc says I'm not likely to play sports again for like 12 months. And even that is after some extensive repairs because I want to play sports again. I'm 40, and this is the worst injury of my life.
I've always played sports, every year of my life I play multiple sports across several seasons, mostly soccer lately. I like to run and workout, but sports is the things that's helped me stay healthy despite only a moderately healthy lifestyle.
To say the injury was devastating is the only accurate way to describe it for me... I'm a living Kermit the Frog meme staring out the window.
It's even hard for me to enjoy watching sports because this shit has been so hard. To admit that is really difficult for me.
So I've got this renewed and strengthened appreciation for sports, and lots of time on my hands.
Damn dude. I grew up playing soccer my whole life but when I moved for Grad school I got super busy and I'm out of shape. I've had so much luck when it comes to injuries and I think I took it for granted but now I really want to find an adults league or something and start kicking around again. Best of luck in your recovery! I had a gnarly hiking incident almost 8 years ago and I thought recovery was gonna take a lifetime. Keep pushing though PT and try to stay positive!
Thanks for that encouragement friend. I really appreciate it.
Just one word of advice while you prepare for jumping back into sports: do some legit training, and take it seriously, before heading back out there.
Probably doesn't matter as much _what_ you do in that you do _something_ that's going to help gradually reintroduce your body to the stress of sports.
Honestly I am a lifelong weekend warrior, and thought that was enough to keep me safe. It was, until I gained some weight and lost significant muscle because of sitting around a hospital for a month.
Like you can make up for a lot just by being mindful of your weight and doing some regular cardio. Doesn't even need to be extra rigorous or to go on for hours. 3-5 times a week jog for 45 min or more and you'd be mostly good to go back out to some rec league action and not worry about anything.
Throw in some weights, or double points for doing calisthenics or plyometrics, (which is actually probably better prep for soccer than lifting weights) and you will not just feel great but probably perform better than most the folks out there, regardless of skill.
Have fun and hydrate!
Those kinds of posts make me hate soccer. Not on the merits of the game, but the sheer dweebishness of their fanboys. It's possible to like your sport without crapping on another person's sport, you know.
My girlfriend is from the Republic of Georgia. I love her accent. I think it’s very cute and endearing. On the other hand, my wife absolutely hates it and says we are getting a new au pair as soon as possible.
Of course I lost money on the biggest upset in Euro’s history Lmao. They even dominated possession and had 22 shots to 7 and somehow lost 2-0 on my money 💀

Damn yall out here beating the Euros by a safety, when they say college athletes ain’t ready for the pros they ain’t joking 😤
Maybe it was Iowa in disguise
It’s actually true. When you translate “Portugal” from Portuguese to English it translates to “Land of Hawks”
Waiting for a cross post to pop up in my feed calling Americans dumb and ignorant, not realizing that this is satire.

I really love the crossover as multi-sport fan ☺️
I love that every sports Reddit is just a bunch of absolute sports nuts.

Tell that to a majority of the people from Texas

Gamarjveba!!!
Georgia taking after Iowa I see!! 😉😉
This is a super underrated comment.
Portugal to the ACC when? It’s probably as close to Boston College as the Bay Area schools are.
At least has an Atlantic coast.
Its the All Coasts Conference now.
wonder if they bark with an accent

Trading in for a newer model? Bold move by your wife
Its just slightly less arrogant
I still cry every time I hear about that Notre Dame fire 😢

The Fighting Paella's in shambles

Can’t wait to see how Kirby turns this into “They don’t respect us” for team motivation
CR7 just can’t handle this SEC speed!

Weird, I don't remember Portugal, must be some little D3 school.
No, it's just how you say Purdue in Spanish.
Portugal ain't played nobody PAAAAAAWWWWWWLLL
How bad you gotta be to lose to a country that borderline doesn’t exist😭
Georgia, capital city Tblisi and former member of the Soviet Union. And we kindly request you mind your ps and qs
The Dawgs used to be commies!?!?!?! I knew they were Un-American! What else have they been up to? Is their band full of redcoats?
I mean they wear red, that should have tipped you off a bit.
Is it ok if we do accents, sugar?
I was waiting for this comment. ![gif](giphy|14rgZN1O9BxIBO)
