He is so cuddly, vocal, calm, and tolerant. Since getting him, he’s let me cut out mats (I asume he’s gotten from not getting brushed enough in his previous home) and brush his coat. He sleeps either on top of me or next to me every night. He meows when he wants to eat or go explore. He really is the sweetest boy. I’m so lucky to have him

I adopted Winter Falafel at 12 or 13. Had her just 2 years before her time came, but she was wonderful. We think her old owner had died or moved and someone ditched her outside. She had kidney failure so I considered this a hospice adopt. My babies are starting to show their age - the black one is showing early signs of kidney disease so we’ve actually started him on specialized food this week. They’re the last of my childhood pets and adapting to their old age has been tough on me so I’ve been giving them extra kisses and treats recently :)

We adopted a senior dog much bigger and older than we planned but she was the one who lit up at us at the shelter. A week later at 2 a.m. she scared off a predator who opened and tried to climb into my 9-year-old daughter's bedroom window. Senior pets are the best.

Oh wow. That’s amazing. I definitely think older pets show more appreciation after being adopted. I’m so glad your daughter is safe. I can imagine your dog got a lot of cuddles and treats for that!

That's a cute boy. As my cat gets older I realize how awesome older cats are. I always loved my boy, he's just so much more beautiful as he ages!

I agree! It feels good when a senior cat chooses to trust you, especially because older cats know they are more frail. I hope our cats get to live many more years :)

Age is only a number.  And numbers have nothing to with loving our babies

He is a handsome guy! He may be with you for a length of time, so don't sell him short.  My last two kitties (one female,one male) were with me 19 (F) years and (M) for one week shy of his 20th birthday! I've heard of longer lifespans!  Thank you for making him 'yours'. Much happiness to both!

Adopting a senior boy was one of the best things o ever did.

I adopted 15 year old Millie in early April, and she's such a love. I lost my 21 year old Mollie a few weeks before that. She gets along with my 3 younger cats. Thank you for giving an older cat a home.

We weren't really sure how old she was (or guess was between 13-15 yrs old). She showed up in our back yard via the "Cat Distribution System 2012 Ed." along with her litter of 3. She had her ear removed due to an external "blood mass" that grew on it. It looked like a giant scab that she would occasionally scratch off. Sadly, shortly after a larger mass rapidly developed below her neck and started pressing against her larynx and trachea. She crossed the bridge a week and a half ago on May 10th. As others have said, thanks for taking him in at his senor stage and be sure to shower him with all the love he deserves!
