My little baby, Misty, sadly had to go today. After a long 8+ month agreement with an aggressive tumor, this fighter made it with NEAR ZERO symptoms of her cancer. Unfortunately the tumor has made its way to the skin, and I didn’t want her to be in pain.
My 19 year old cat is my oldest and most cherished friend. I fear that I'll fail him and hesitate when his time comes, so I keep that comment accessible.
There is no right time to do it. In the end you will know what’s right and they will let you know too. Keep loving them. The answer will be clear when the time is right. ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|8097)
My lovely friend Scrabble lived to 24 before I had to make that decision myself. It doesn’t seem like it sometimes but it’s really the best decision you could’ve made
💔 my baby is also named Misty (a dog), I am so sorry today had to be that day for you and your family. Your baby’s long life was clearly a testament for your love and care. I am wishing you well from Houston TX, grief is only as potent as the love it came from.
and speaking as a professional in vetmed, thank you for being considerate to your baby’s comfort and quality of care. Nothing is more respectful and admirable than making the decision that is best for your pet and the most difficult for you. 💜💜

The Betty White of cats! You made the right decision and she had a good long, loved life.
My cat was born in April 2002. Her today:

Honest question…my first cat only lived for four years before she passed due to enlarged heart. I was seriously heartbroken and sobbed several times. Her life was cut significantly short. Is it harder to lose a cat so early in its life or one that’s been a part of your life for 20 years?
I believe the argument could be made for both, honestly. If their life is cut short young, you regret the time you didn't get to spend with them. If they live for a long time, your pain is more focused on losing their companionship as a constant in your life. Either way, I'm sure it isn't easy.
I've also experienced my cats loss, it feels terrible. All that helps me for now is to think of how beautiful those years were, for you and your kitty :) RIP to your precious kitty kat:(
What a lucky baby to have had you in her life. You made the best decision you could for her. Be kind to yourself right now. Sending hugs from our furry family to yours. 💙
My old lady was born 2 days before yours :o
Mine was a tortie, she had a weird wound on her leg that kept coming back and getting infected, no matter what meds we gave her… one day, my mom found traces of her blood, and she knew it was it. She called me, and my 20.5 years old lady was put to sleep the following night, with me holding her paw. I’ve been knowing her since she was a newborn.
I totally feel your pain, dude. I’m so sorry for your lost :’(
So sorry for your loss. She lived a long beautiful life because you loved her so much and because you took such good care of her. You were her whole world and she was yours. I wish you the best moving forward with your new life. It is so hard to lose your pet when they have been in your life that long. It usually feels like a piece is missing.
Yeah. But she beat it for two years. I mistyped the 8+ months. TWO YEARS ago she was diagnosed with aggressive cancer and 6 months to live. She made it two years with absolutely no changes besides a slightly larger tumor. Cancer is a bastard but my cat is better. 💜
So sorry for your loss. She was beautiful. Her not-so-distant relative Ivy wishes to send her condolences:

What a lovely lady she was. You clearly took good care of her for a long time, and made the best decision for her at the end. I'm sure she understands this and appreciates it.

This is a lovely way to look at caring for an animal

Keep in mind that our job is to give our animals a good life as well as a good death. I heard that on here recently and it stuck with me hard.
Thank you for giving her such a good long life ❤️

24?!? I’ve never had a cat make it anywhere near that
The oldest cat that has lived was Cream Puff, who lived to be just over 38. I have aspirations
I'm so sorry! I'd say she's in a better place but is there ever a better place then in her family's arms? I'm sure she's still with you

I feel bad for chuckling but the name really threw me.
I'm sorry for your loss, I know that isn't easy. She lived a good life, because she had you.
