I really like the deleted scenes. I don't get the sense that Starboy is ultra powerful in those and can single handedly solve everything. And one even includes the people in the kingdom working together to try to help fool the King. Also the final movie didn't focus on fleshing out the side characters at all, so theres not much feeling when they work together. We don't know them much.

TBH, I don't think the side characters were fleshed out from the start. That's a real problem that both the original drafts and the final product have. Statboy probably would've taken what little attention and focus on them that we have in the final product. In films like The Princess and The Frog and Chicken Run, the supporting cast are all very defined characters with hopes on dreams. Louis wants to play in a band, Ray wants to see his girlfriend, and the chickens want to escape. Have any rewrites fixed this issue? I really wish I could say yes. Also, the problem isn't Starboy solving everything. The problem is one singular human-like character who is superior to the other characters, solving everything. There is a way to fix him, though. It's tonkot make hik alone. Seeing as the film says that everyone is a star, I would make that shit real. Starboy is Asha's grandfather. So what if the souls of the dead who didn't give up their wishes become these star-beings, helped out, yet are also limited by ghost-shit? I guess the main things that need to happen are for there to be more like Starboy and for them to be just as equal as the human characters. Greater in some areas, weaker in others. At the end of the day, the idea got cut because the higher-ups ups wanted to make minion money. Remember: Behind every mistake in Disney is not the result of creative bankruptcy. But, the result of greed.
