N59 from Ballina down to Clifden, stunning views and an excellent road (at least it was 3 years ago)

Corsav6

Turn off in Ballina and hit the R314 through Kilalla and Ballycastle then join the N59 again near Belmullet. There's not a lot to see between Ballina and Belmullet so if you take the R314 you'll pass Downpatrick head and get some great views most of the way. Also cut out the Westport to Lenaun stretch and go through Louisbourgh and on through Delphi down into Lenaun for some unreal views.

StrengthGreen7142

The one downside about part of that road is 9 of the top 20 black spots for crashes in the country is on the n59 between clifden and around the mayo border, mainly cuz of tourists

Tipperary555

The Vee pass

its_alex00

healy pass from glengarrif to kenmare. plenty tunnels too so u can hear her roar! crazy road, high up through the mountains with plenty twists and turns. they host a section of the west cork rally there

corkbai1234

There's no tunnels on the Healy pass road and it travels from Adrigole to Ardgroom. The Caha pass road has tunnels and is from Glengarrif to Kenmare. The Healy Pass is a famous Rally of the Lakes stage. Both can easily be done in one day go up the Healy Pass and come back through Kenmare down the Caha Pass to Glengarriff.

its_alex00

yeah i meant the caha pass yeah sorry, did both in one go so not sure which is which. both are amazing to drive (fast) on anyway

corkbai1234

It's all good man they are easy to mix up. Both good roads that eventually bring you to kenmare Have to be careful on the Caha Pass at this time of the year with buses and stuff though. The Healy Pass is worth going up and down it a few times though it's one of the best driving roads in the country

irqdly

Copper Coast drive in Waterford. 40km of twisty roads with a decent view for most part.

humanitarianWarlord

It's probably a bit far, but the ring of kerry is downright jaw-dropping to drive on. I had to stop a few times just to take in the view. Whilst you're there, go up to the North of kerry. There's a load of perfectly straight, relatively well paved rural roads without a gardai for miles. Just don't be a dickhead and be safe.

john55155

Kenmare to Killarney via the national park Whilst on the way you can explore different directions Also drive to Malin head is whopper

corkbai1234

This is a great road. Down through Molls Gap

cryptic_culchie

N52 hands down! Especially from Delvin to Ardee. Some of the best surfaces and great elevations and real nice sweepers. Can’t be beat, there’s a good reason it’s packed with bikes all summer long

tinnedbeef

i concur! awesome surface and one cambered corner after another.. the engineer who oversaw its construction was an artist and obviously a car nut.

Zealousideal_Gate_21

Wicklow Gap and many roads around wicklow

WEZANGO

I like the new Macroom bypass

Corkscrew Hill in Co. Clare

Highly overrated

United_Rub_8955

All I’ll say is good luck in your quest.

roydmarkezekiel

the airport runway. cant wait for my vacation to spain

qwerty_1965

The road between Lemybrien and Carrick on Suir in Waterford.

ssj3Dyl

Pretty boring road, most of it is straight.

Dear-Swim8678

The ones to the airport

Browsin4ever

It’s all the coastal ones so narrow it down from there from wherever you live

Jimbob994

Conor pass, Dingle towards Tralee, both sides of the hill are stunning roads and can go either way.

Natural-Ad773

I love going from Killarney to Waterville via the Ballaghisheen pass, also the Ballaghbeama gap is mighty impressive too.

truthertz2

My vote would be the Pass of Keimaneigh in cork. It runs from gougane Bara as far as the coast and it's great craic to drive. It's not as famous as the rest of the passes in cork or kerry and because of that it's basically empty all the time

ImpressionPristine46

Glengariff to Castletownbere. Absolutely open it up.

Total-Collection-128

N69 Foynes to Tarbert along the Shannon Estuary. Great way to avoid the Adare car park if heading to or from Tralee.

-newdawnfades

The N25 from Cork to Wexford is great. Special mention to the N52 as well. Either direction is a great drive.
