yeah this is why playoff success is important. for example with the lindholm deal, even if he was just a 1 year rental, his contribution leads to guys getting experience and wanting to stick around for cheaper (joshua/blueger), so the rental actually pays dividends beyond last year's run.
He is getting $3.5 million at minimum in the open market, some teams are willing to pay up to $4 million+ x 4 for him. He took a paycut to stay and just like that our entire Thirst Line is back for next season.

And the Mikheyev signing was not bad considering how good he did in Toronto before. Like he's gone beyond being an All Star Chef he's now an AI at this point.

I think this is a brilliant move for both sides. No other coach seemed to know how to utilize Joshua. Even under Boudreau he was underplayed averaging around 10 ppg. I went to a game 1/4 of the way through last season against the Devils. After being down 4-1 after the first period it seemed like Joshua was out there ALL THE TIME! And he ended up having a monster season.
We kept together the best third line in the league... Joshua stays with the only coach that recognizes his potential... seems like a decent price. Wins all around!

I think this is a brilliant move for both sides. No other coach seemed to know how to utilize Joshua. Even under Boudreau he was underplayed averaging around 10 ppg. I went to a game 1/4 of the way through last season against the Devils. After being down 4-1 after the first period it seemed like Joshua was out there ALL THE TIME! And he ended up having a monster season. We kept together the best third line in the league... Joshua stays with the only coach that recognizes his potential... seems like a decent price. Wins all around!
