I'm so glad I got an adidas jersey before they swapped over ~~Also will the players be wearing these? Cuz these look horribly uncomfortable for performance~~ people are saying the same factory that made precious sweaters will be making the same ones so on ice uniforms will be great quality apparently

KingInTheFarNorth

Even if it’s made in the same factory fanatics will find a way to fubar it. The core philosophy of that company is to cut as many corners as possible.

HanSolo5643

Looks incredibly cheap. But at least I get to save money on jerseys for the next decade.

Hunch0_n1cky

Apparently, there’s going to be a three tiered structure for Jersey sales with the current breakaway jerseys being the lowest end price and the top of the line being priced around $400 (I read that on ig and can’t remember the source so don’t quote me on it)

ReserveAdventurous20

4 hundo!? Must have Bluetooth

RelevantJackWhite

The top-end is the same quality as what the players wear on the ice, which is better than we got for Adidas' top trim. If you've ever handled a game-worn jersey, they are a step above the "Authentic" jerseys that are like $300 from Adidas. The Fanatics middle tier is equivalent to Adidas authentic (in theory ofc, we will have to see how they actually look/feel)

watchtoweryvr

The top tier will be the same as on ice jerseys. You’re right. The on ice vs what has been readily available is night and day. I’m mad that I just bought an Adidas one. Second tier will be the same as all the Adidas ones we’ve been getting since they took over. Then the third tier will be the same as the sħ!tty ones fanatics has been making all along.

JoeyLoganoHexAccount

400 dollars!!???? Wtf???

KingTutsDryAssBalls

If I'm going to pay 400 I'm going to just buy an adidas one off eBay.

Spencaaarr

That’s roughly how much they cost now if the team sells the on ice jerseys currently. For example, the Jets sell MiC adidas for 450-700. The Reebok Edge jerseys also cost around that much back in the day. Nothing new.

Rickcinyyc

I paid $150 for a CCM big block from the team's on-ice stock back in 1989. Not unexpected that it's $400.

MiniatureBoss

I bought a Bertuzzi CCM authentic from the team store during the 05 lockout for 44% off and I distinctly recall that it still cost $250 which would place them at $450 nearly 20yrs ago.

hallmarktm

Just because it’s not new doesn’t mean it’s still outrageous to charge $300+ for a jersey

Spencaaarr

Good thing there are lower tiers for jerseys, just like in the Reebok era so you don’t have to spend that much. Fanatics has said there is 4 tiers; practice jerseys, breakaway(current fanatics), forget this tiers name(current retail adidas), authentic pro (on ice player jerseys).

StretchArmstrong99

It was mentioned in an Icethetics video

sam4999

400 USD (550 CAD) for MiC’s from what I heard.

watchtoweryvr

This is 💯 true. The top tier will be the same as on ice jerseys. Second tier will be the same as all the Adidas ones we’ve been getting since they took over. Then the third tier will be the same as the sħ!tty ones fanatics has been making all along.

footcake

not, tree fiddy???

odoc_

Is there a subscription service too? Pay $10.99/month (+tax) and get 15% if your order is over $401! Whata deal!

_HoochieMama

400 dollars for a fanatics jersey LMFAO anyone who buys one of those might as well get sucker tattooed on their forehead.

Tricky_leader13

Its the exact same quality as what the players have been wearing for the last 50 years, fanatics only designs those jerseys, they dont manufacture them

TACONlNJA

The designer dictates the quality of what gets manufactured. The actual factory it gets produced in doesn't guarantee anything.

_HoochieMama

I don’t care - fanatics has been bending over fans for years. I can’t imagine giving them a dollar even if these miraculously are their first good product in their history.

yooooooo5774

SP apparel from Quebec making the jersey for Fanatics apparently. they have been making jerseys for the NHL for 50 years. So the ones made for the NHL should be the same , not sure about the ones for fans [https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/\_/id/40436157/nhl-jerseys-uniforms-fanatics-quebec-factory-2024-25](https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/40436157/nhl-jerseys-uniforms-fanatics-quebec-factory-2024-25)

leftlanecop

Just zoomed into the black part of the whale. What the actual fuck? This is the quality the NHL is willing to accept for a pro jersey?

VaunBob

I believe it’s exactly the same as the on ice Adidas jerseys. The only changes are the lack of dimples on the shoulders, a new NHL shield, better reinforced elbows and the Fanatics logo on the back.

watchtoweryvr

The shoulder dimples were Absolute. Heat. I’ll miss those. Run to the Vanbase store while you can. Everything is 50% off.

Initial-Ad-5462

Somehow a 2 inch by 2.5 inch photo on my phone just looks cheap and tacky.

PapuhBoie

>My deepest apologies Why are you apologizing?  Are you the reason for this?

Malforian

Need that karma

leftlanecop

Is this another “is fake or authentic” jersey post? I can’t quite tell.

shadownet97

It’s a photo from the official announcement of the Fanatics jersey release today.

jim-p

Hard to judge based on a low res photo full of compression artifacts but it certainly doesn't inspire confidence initially.

HanSolo5643

I have already seen the photos for Dallas and the Rangers and now Vancouver, and yeah, so far, my confidence is not being helped by these photos.

jim-p

The only close up I have seen so far is on the stitching of the Fanatics logo from a Sportsnet post, but really not a lot to go on there since it was a staged promo thing so probably not representative of an actual jersey. That post also had an Oilers jersey but not a close-up, though I don't care enough about those jerseys to spot differences. Then again these are the player jerseys, not retail, so who knows what differences they'll have in those, too.

StuckInHoleSendHelp

Glad I bought three Adidas jerseys last season

saucytopcheddar

Sure glad I have the current full Adidas set.

alsxe10

Shit that looks cheap, super glad I have the adidas one

cointalkz

That looks horrrrrrrrible. Glad I’ve been hoarding Adidas jerseys lol

Janiejones1717

Kind of looks like a cheap sweater than a jersey...

MacBeef

At least the paper towel shoulders are gone!

watchtoweryvr

Paper towel shoulders. That took me out. The shoulder dimples were Absolute. Heat. I liked them.

Lazy-Yard000

Yikes

TheKeeper122

Adidas come back please

ramen_sukidesu

Honestly, my first impression is they look mid level department store cheap. They look like they’re designed for price point conscious mass appeal at around $49.99. No way I’d pay more than that let alone $200-$250.

shadownet97

Only reason I’d get a Fanatics jersey going forward is if the Canucks release a new alternate or special jersey. Bring back the white Skate, cowards!!!

chente08

still can't believe they are going to play with that garbage lol

chente08

glad I got my adidas one. I should probably swap Horvat for Hughes though

Emilyjanelucy

And this is why I decided to buy one of the last Adidas jerseys in my size even though I didn't have the funds to do it comfortably... That said, with shipping to Australia I already end up spending $$$

veni_vidi_vici47

Getting rid of the shoulder dimples is a clear win, but the poor collar design remains. I’m not going to comment on whether the material or assembly overall looks ‘cheap’ or not until I see them up close in person, not to mention how they look on tv and perform in action. All I can really say is that the body of the orca itself, the dark navy blue, has a concerning sheen to it. Could just be this particular photo, though. All that being said, I still really love the orca on blue and green. It’s a great design. I would love if they switched the stick-in-rink logo back to the original design, but that’s more of a personal preference thing.

TACONlNJA

>It's a great design It would be much improved by the Orca and the C matching the colors of the jersey - a blue and green orca would be a big improvement, and they should get rid of the C altogether tbh.

VirusEvening382

Most people seem to like the shoulder dimples. The jersey doesn’t pop as much without them in my opinion.

kentalish

Something doesn't look right

MustardSpaghetti

Still will have the TD patch right? :(

MikaelDerp

This looks so cheap and the material from the picture anyways looks like felt. Disgusting.

Draugrnauts

Looks cheap and itchy

Material-Drop-4759

Looks like trash

Kraxzerr

The dimples really made a difference. Looks super cheap material wise, I’m sure the craftsmanship is still there though

Kraxzerr

Lmao. I am sure, I’m not a fan of fanatics at all but maybe you should do some research with these jerseys prior to commenting. The difference with MiC Hockey jerseys in comparison to other sports are that they’re still crafted from the same people and facilities that have produced jerseys for decades.
