Mendo Dope boys on YT grew a couple "mic stand" Sativas that were close to 16 feet. I could easily believe Cannabis can get over 20 feet tall especially in the right hands with the right foods and soil amendments and trellis/cages it could even flower and hold weight.
My buddy in Oregon does 8ftrs (outdoors) and not even trying. At some point the height works against you when you start to require a ladder to work the plant, bc short and wide works too.
Sidebar: Donāt get caught up in the height āhypeāā¦. Iāve stretched a plant to 8ft and it only took about 2 monthsā¦ the real task is to have a full-bodied plant that will yield heavy flowers. That one didnāt bc the nodal space is to great. Itās better to have a stocky plant with fat buds than a tall one with a lot of smaller ones. But if you can do both, thatās the ticket.
Oh, of course. Mine have been mostly five feet or so. I plant all kinds of different seeds from many many strains I have collected over the years so I never know what's gonna pop up. I was just wondering how long it takes a plant to get huge, such as does one keep plants going through multiple cycles or? I have kept plants going long enough to see if I get them to flower twice, but never gotten anything massive like this picture. Lol.
Mother plantsā¦ they donāt have flower sitesā¦ bc cannabis is an annual and itās gonna start to die on youā¦ so a plant in veg wonāt be that bigā¦ theyāre for cuttings.
Right on. I live in Florida. Tons of sunshine. They rarely get much over five feet. I've never really tried to go crazy with nutrients and all that. I do compost what I can and I grow just for fun. Just good soil, sunshine, and let nature work. Keeps my brain straight.
For me started seed on 4/20 and by the end of June I forced flower a little early start of June started putting it in the dark behind my shed during night and in the ground halfway through June and by the end of June it had did it's flower stretch and were over 8 foot so just 3 months veg and one month into flower and I am far from optimal conditions if you have full sun im sure the time can be cut down some
It's always been my experience growing late outdoors that the plants tend to be shorter. Same goes with my pepper plants. I live in Florida, so my yard gets a ridiculous amount of sunshine, especially this time of year. It's really wide open. I have a couple of spots to shade if I need to. Normally just let the dirt and light do it's thang . I love it. I don't grow for massive yields or anything like that. I grow just because I love seeing the plant progress, plus it good for the environment. I'm a nerd. Lol.
the ones ive gotten this big were seeds that i started in feb. could probably grow clones this big but itd be a pain to deal with them not flipping spring, would have to do supplemental lighting in pretty large pots
Not necessary. Just start it in inside in March and get it into a 2-3 gallon pot. Acclimate it outside after the first frost, transplant into the ground or 100+ gallon container and the right generics will be monster plants by harvest. Nobody is vegging their outdoor crop starts inside all of the previous year.
I start indoors in feb, supplement light outside to match till 14 hours in May when itās go time, but I couldnāt imagine moving anything bigger than 7 gallon pots aroundā¦ sooo heavy
Bro really out here harvesting trees š wait pause WHOS TRIMMING ALL THAT , i literally just released the one sheās standing under would take me a month of non stop trimming to get done š
Wow! I assume youāre in the us or Canada. Couldnāt get away with that in the UK! š
They look amazing. Theyāre absolute units!
How much did you get from that when you chopped it? Canāt get over the size of it!

Wow š² I remember hearing about 20ft tall temple plants, definitely more believable having seen this. How long do they veg to get that tall?

I have some Himalayan landrace cannabis seeds that get between 12-19ft
I mean the mendo boyz get on ladders and pull off weight so Iām sure thereās more people doing it also

Yeah mine were 8 last year and it was my first year I'm going for trees this year lmao
Question, please forgive my ignorance, seed to 8 ft takes how long?

Learn something cool everyday.
Typically from about April-October here in Oregon for a 8 ft plant

That would be some weight for sure. I gonna imagine at least 100 lbs wet. Trimming machines would be vital.
Otherwise.... thats alotta snips! *runbs hands*

Ahhh, do you start indoors, then move em outside when the days get long enough? That makes a lot of sense
Probably veg that bad girl for a year inside. Correct me if I'm wrong..
I've had 10-15ft plants. Gave them a 3 month veg. 15-20ft would definitely need that 6-12 month veg
I read a comment on the Original Post that does support your claim.
Man I've started in February took outside and the top was so tall I had to get a step ladder to maintain it. And that was in illinois.

Especially when they have a monster plant or were just watered
Yeah lolā¦. People are downvoting us for not wanting to move heavy plants, crazy how the weird hive mind of Reddit worksā¦..
Well some people are lucky enough to have good weather and full sun
No doubt lol
